Self-Care Month kicks off on June 24, right on the heels of the summer solstice (June 20), but we don't have to wait until then to kickstart (or kick up) our wellness efforts. Whether you already have a solid self-care routine you engage in consistently, or you're dipping your toes into self-care for the first time, or you're stuck in a rut & looking for a refresh on your way to wellness, welcome!! 😀
What Is This About?:
Simply put, it's about focusing on our personal wellness, in a fun way à la the bingo card, with a few adjustments to the traditional bingo rules.
How To Play/Participate:
Work towards completing the activities on the bingo card during the month, taking into account where you are personally on your wellness journey & what will serve you best as you care for yourself. You may want to complete several of the activities in one week, or none at all. The next week may include checking off one square or taking the free space. You may find an activity to be something you want to hone in on and work on little by little, for a week or the whole month.
Do what you can when you can as you can. Make adjustments as needed. Remember, we're all in different places and spaces - physically, mentally, environmentally. Please tailor the activities to meet those places and spaces, including doing things incrementally, starting out slowly, bit by bit, and building up gradually from there, if and as needed.
We love hearing about how everyone goes about these monthly wellness bingo activities. If you're up for it, feel free (but not obligated) to share what activity / activities you've undertaken, what has worked for you - it can be once a month, once every other week, every 7-10 days, etc. It can include photos, or be as quick and easy as hitting "Reply" at the bottom left to this original post, sharing your activities, and then clicking "Post".
@itsfi That water looks yummy. For the life of me I can't drink stuff like that, probably ruined from all my years of only drinking soda. Hopefully with less soda drinking waters will taste better haha.
You can always marry the two @Samtian , like half soda + half citrus water. The first time, it's a stark change, but after awhile, it's decent.
@Samtian, it adds a little extra to water (and is less expensive than buying a bottle of fruit infused water). I used to do cucumber water for that spa-like feeling. Berries are nice too but I found I needed to use a lot of berries for the flavor to come through and I would just eat all the berries instead. 😂 Herbs with the fruit or just herb-infused water is great as well - mint or thyme.
I have a stack of books I haven't gotten around to but I think I'm going to go with Ghosted by Rosie Walsh next. I read The Love of My Life last year, another book of hers, and liked it a lot. @blackkitty2014 read and enjoyed Ghosted so it's been on I've been wanting to read. We'll see when though, I have a few audio books and books on my Kindle to go through as well, and I've not been reading as much as I was last year.
I love Citrus water , too, @CorgiMommy abd @itsfi! I haven’t made any in a while and should do that.

The new SDJ lotion reminded me of a song, Gym Glass Hereos Cupid's Chokehold ("Ba ba ba da, Ba ba ba da), which I haven't listened to in forever and a day. On the playlist it went!
I'm moving! I think 🤞🏽🤞🏽, so gotta start organizing. Used my whiteboard in the hallway to write down some important dates and to-dos. In that list there is some self care things, so we're off
Practice gratitude. I try to do this in the evening, just saying it to myself 🙏🏽
Seasonal veggies/Healthy Meal - asparagus season 🙌🏽
I had it with roasted squash and tuna steaks
Get outdoors/exercise outdoors. I try to walk a couple of miles each week, so this is a staple/ongoing one. We also take DanDan to the playgrounds to prevent destruction of our home.
Physical Wellness: there's been work wellness classes for six weeks. I missed the first three because of work, but I've been to the last two by just putting my foot down... establishing that I'm going and it's gone....well. 😂
Stretch - I stopped stretching with my LED mask for a few weeks, and the difference was felt. Not trying to let that happen again, so we've gone back to that. I also stretch between resistance reps.
Hand Care - I've strapped my DIOR Le Baume Revitalizing Multi-Use Balm to my bag, the one that came with a keychain, and it's a good impulse action/reminder
Aww, that's cool! @byme4u , TYSM for saying so, and maybe I'll copy you in that way, too. I have a hard time with speaking kindly to myself, and that sounds like a good way of doing it.
