LexBT, BrendaBT and me playing around in Sephora Collection's SEPHORiA experience
If I won a million dollars I'd buy a row house I could invest it. Nothing like real estate speculation! A house is something I could enjoy every day and after taxes I think this would be just enough to buy a fixer upper.
Can you provide an update on the last sweeps that included "buy an entry with your points"? It closed over a year ago (March 2018), but Hello World never announced a winner.
Original thread here:

Has anyone ever won any of their sweepstakes? I remember someone posting the lipsticks they won, but that has been the only one I've ever seen.
Good thing you brought this up @RGbrown. I didnโt enter this bc it was US only, but I had a similar situation wherein I entered a Velour Lashes contest on IG. I messaged them directly inquiring about the winner and they never responded back! I felt so scammed ๐ ๐ ๐ปโโ๏ธ
Iโd look into legal ways to squirrel it away and live off the interest. Iโd want some way to grow that money (aside from investing it all) so I can pay medical expenses for myself and as many relatives as possible. Iโd also want to help ease relativesโ and close friendsโ debt.
Sure, Iโd also like to BUY. ALL. OF. THE. LIPSTICKS. ๐คฃ But not until I was sure I could help support my loved ones.
Damn... a lot of responses about medical bills here. That is saying something.
I have lived in the UK and Brazil before moving to the US and the biggest shock I had here was related to the medical system. Even with great insurance a simple visit can cost you thousands of dollars out of pocket. I can easily see how a person can go bankrupt because of medical bills, it is totally out of control and there is no transparency.
(Those are my 2 cents as a foreigner. Not trying to make this into a political conversation at all.)
@itscarin I know, right? And honestly, $1 million isnโt enough to cover everyone I wanna help, once the fed and state get their taxation hands on it. ๐
@WinglessOne I donโt want to go down the political rabbit hole but I listened to Bernie Sanders on the joe rogan experience and he made a lot of sense.
I keep reading articles about people dying because they canโt afford insulin and Iโm shocked. Meanwhile, magic johnson has been hiv+ since it was first discovered (hyperbole) but how many countless other succumbed to the disease? Money talks.
Itโs crazy a Corporation can make a slight tweak on a drug, get it patented for another 20 years, and then price gouge consumers. If you want to make 10x on a commodity, have at it... but when people need this stuff to live itโs immoral.
Then you have the drug companies lying about what their drug can do and causing the opioid epidemic. Healthcare in the us is a dirty business. I just canโt imagine telling someone โnoโ when they need a drug or a procedure to live. Thatโs a death sentence.
@itscarin I completely agree. I could rant for hours about our โhealthโcare system and the ways it penalizes not-wealthy folks for having the audacity to get sick or injured.
Something else thatโs ticked me off for years that Iโll soon get to experience firsthand: I worked 20 years for a large corporation until this year. My healthcare premium (for myself; I have no dependents) were $47/month. Thatโll continue for the post-employment extension period, after which Iโll lose subsidization (the sweet deal worked out between my former employer and this insurance company) and my premium will jump to $549/month if I choose to keep my current plan. Thereโs no moral explanation that insurance companies can possibly provide to explain why theyโre willing to offer the exact same coverage at 2 very different price points. This kind of price gouging is yet another source of debt for many people.
Anyway... yeah, our system is sucky. ๐ If I could grow a $1 million prize to an even larger sum, then I could help a lot more people with their health billsโand maybe help fund a cause that effectively pushes for a better healthcare system.
'Healthcare in the us is a dirty business.'
Completely agree.
I like your idea of living off the interest, @WinglessOne !
