Monthly Favorites: September 2023 Edition!

Bye-bye, summer! 👋🍂 I’m welcoming fall, BIC – who’s with me? Ready for warm baths and vampy lips to make their annual return to my routine. The weather is getting colder already and I’m all about hydration; my hair is feeling particularly dry at the moment, so I’ve been trying to show it some extra TLC! I also got my hands on a couple new makeup products that I tried for the first time this month and instantly fell for – after a summer of dewy, barely-there makeup, I’m challenging myself to revisit more dramatic looks this season. ✨

Happy fall, everyone! 🍃🍂🍁 Here they are, my September beauty faves (details in spoiler), making a fashionably late appearance (?):

When I need bigger, better, fuller hair (and, really, when do I not need this?! lol), it's Oribe Mini Dry Texturizing Spray 2.2 oz/ 75mL Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray 8.5 oz/ 300mL  to the rescue.

Love how this builds volume and gives my hair some texture. This has been in my monthly favorites at least once per year since, oh gosh, 2016, 2017(?), very possibly even before then. This stuff is fantastic - a dry hair spray, a texturizer, and volumizer in one. Oh, and did I mention how amazing the scent is on this beauty? 🥰

LAWLESS Forget the Filler Lip-Plumping Line-Smoothing Tinted Lip Balm Pink Marshmallow is a quick, easy and beautiful way to add some color to your lips while keeping them soft and moisturized and is super easy to apply; I also love that the lid stays on well, making it easy to keep in the pocket of my jeans or in my purse (with the hundred other balms or lipsticks that are in there).

This Pink Marshamallow version adjusts to the pH of your lips and there are several other shade I'm interested in picking up soon. I saw a few of the lovelies here on BIC using these Lawless balms at Sephoria. @Samtian, what shade did you have at SEPHORiA?

The Biossance 100% Sugarcane Squalane Oil 3.4 oz / 100 mL was part of this wonderful holiday gift set (Biossance Smooth Start Travel Body Set) of minis. While I'll pick up a set as a holiday gift for some friends later in the year, I couldn't / didn't wait for the holidays to pick up one for me. 😉 This oil can be used all over from head to toe - hair, body, and face. Over the years (and after a couple of conferences), I've found that traveling with a squalane-based skincare product to be helpful -  my skin generally loves hyaulronic acid but it has a reverse effect if the location is very dry. That's where a squalane oil based beauty comes in handy as the squalane will help to keep the skin hydrated and moisturized, in any climate.

And here she is again, Touchland Power Mist Hydrating Hand Sanitizer, in the blue sandalwood scent. This has been my go to all month, while traveling and at home. it keeps my hands clean, leaves zero stickiness or tackiness, smells fantastic, and fits easily in my pocket or purse, without fear of spilling or leakage. 👍🏼

Love the Touchland hand sanitizers. 💖💖💖 This and the peach scented one are my go-to's and this Touchland BLACKPINK | TOUCHLAND Power Mist Hydrating Hand Sanitizer BLACKPINK- Blue Sandalwood (here's the one from the permanent collection - Touchland Power Mist Hydrating Hand Sanitizer Blue Sandalwood). It was a must have for me while traipsing about NYC and of course, Sephoria (along with the fan, thoughfully given to me by the always phenomenal @sister13  - thank you, thank you! I loved having this with me and even more, loved meeting you in person!)
 @TeamBIC, it would be super helpful to have these available for folks to have at the next Sephoria - how awesome would a Touchland x Sephora collab be? Ooooh!! 😍

I love mists - they make for a marvelous pick me up, for adding a little hydration to the skin and some work well as a setting spray for your makeup too. This Gucci Brume de Beauté Beauty Mist 2.7 oz / 80 mL was recommended to me by fabulous Maria at the Sephora 34th Street store 🩷 and I am so glad she suggested this to me - it's fantastic. The mister on this is one of the best I've used and the soft rose scent (fresh and reminiscent of real roses) is beautiful and luxe.😍

Last but not least, my FAVORITE MOMENT(S) of the month consists of anything involving time with the folks here on BT/BIC. It's hard to think of a single word to capture how much joy it brought me to not just meet and talk to you face-to-face but to see everyone's interactions with one another -- for some, it was a series of first - first time in New York, at Sephoria, fmeeting BT/BIC beauties; for others, it was a reconnecting with friends and making new ones to reconnect with at another date and time (or the next Sephoria!).

Wish you were there @GeorginaBT - we had so much fun meeting and chatting with the folks on the greater Sephora team that were there, from Jody in Marketing (@heartsmyface and I may have chatted on and on and on and on ...) to the castmembers who were soooo joyful and energetic throughout the event from start to finish❣️We really wished you and TeamBIC were able to join us. Next time, TeamBIC, next time! 🤞🏼

@itsfi Oooh so many goodies in there. Thank you for the info on the Biossance oil. I beleive I have some and it is helpful to know how it can be used. I have now added the mini Oribe dry shampoo to my cart for the sale. I have seen many BIC members post about this. Knowing that it preforms and smells amazing makes me want to try it. The Touchland Sanitizer in Sandalwood will forever remind me of the New York Sephoria trip 🩵

I love that the Touchland blue sandalwood hand sanitizer will forever be connected with Sephoria NYC 2023. I almost about done with this one @Mellmars1185; I think I may keep the empty bottle with some of my other Sephoria memorabilia. 🥰

@itsfi Your praises of the Oribe dry texturizing spray has pretty much forced me to pull one out from my stash for Tuesday morning.  I'm also going to second the upcoming Touchland X Sephora collab that I'm sure must be in the works... can't wait to see what scent they put together!  

@sister13 's fan has been in constant use for me as well... I didn't know that I needed it, but now I'm not sure I'll be able to get on without it!!

I love fans and have several but none saw the usage or reception as @sister13’s gifted fan; it came in handy waiting in the lines and others remarked on it too! It was pretty, practical and people pleasing! 🥰🥰🥰

@SportyGirly125 I've tried a few different mini's over the years and I think I just need to really give it a solid go.  My hair is so long and lifeless after an hour or two.  I'm fingers crossed that this will help!!

@Samtian, the Gucci Brume de Beauté Beauty Mist 2.7 oz / 80 mL is really nice - scent is subtle, mist comes out finely but it's hydrating, nourishing on the skin. I may get a backup during the sale.

Making note of your recovery kit @heartsmyface! I see those patches at Target and always wonder if they work. My recollection is that another BIC’er has used them, a different variety, maybe @sonnydee? Hmmm, I’ll have to pay more attention to them next time I’m in the store - great; another reason to spend more time in the store. 😆 

Of course! One of my all time faves had to go to a good home and I know it did! ♥️ That stuff earns HG status for me.
