Monthly Favorites: October 2023 Edition!

Boo! 👻🎃 It’s spooky how quickly October is flying by, BIC. I’m curious what new products all of you have been trying this season – personally, I feel like this time of year is one of the most exciting when it comes to beauty releases (holiday kits, anyone?)! I’ve been picking up a couple things I see trending at Sephora here and there, while also shopping my own stash and checking off my “been meaning to try this!” list.

Ohhh, what fun faves @ather! The glazing milk will be making its way into my skincare routine on a more consistent basis from now until ... well, I'm not sure until when - maybe through the cooler season, or I could see it being a year round staple. That Saie illuminator leaves such a beautiful glow! 😍

@ather, I did a patch test and gave it a go earlier on and my skin liked it. I wanted to work my way through a few partially used skincare products first before diving into it full time! 😊 How are you using the glazing milk in your routine? I’m all ears.

@itsfi  I am using it both AM and PM and my skin seems to love it! It’s gotten cold and dry here. My skin seems to love the added moisture! I think it will be light enough to continue into spring and summer too!

Are you layering it under the serum and BRC @ather? Or just by itself and a moisturizer?

@itsfi  I am! In the morning I do Glazing milk, live tinted vitamin c, peptide glazing fluid and BRC then I do my makeup! And at night my routine changes a bit. Normally I would do glazing milk, retinol, peptide glazing fluid or Summer Fridays Dream Oasis Deep Hydration Serum 1 oz/ 30 mL and BRC or Summer Fridays Rich Cushion Cream Ultra Plumping Moisturizer 1.69 oz / 50 ml on hair wash night I do everything but the retinol and the cream and I use an overnight moisture mask. And if I have an active breakout I would add in the spot treatment! And I guess I also do eye creams too!

@Mellmars1185  I may have learned my lessons from the past!! It gets so dry here I usually end up with dry patches!

How does Summer Fridays moisturizer hold up to the colder weather dryness?

@CynthieLu  It’s new so I haven’t used it in the bitter cold winter yet. But it’s extra thick so fingers crossed it holds up!

@GeorginaBT  Wow great October favs! How is it the end of October already!!! I spy so many favs in this set! How minty do you find the summer Fridays balm? I would say that’s the only one I haven’t tried yet! I will have to get started brewing up my October favs!

Thanks @ather! No idea where October went lol 🤯 I do find the Summer Fridays balm pretty minty - which is why I like it! I always prefer mint-flavored balms since I feel like the cool mint feeling makes my lips feel softer and more hydrated. Jack Black Moisture Therapy Lip Balm SPF 25 Mint used to be a fave of mine for the same reason!

This month I have been reaching for:

 Touchland Power Mist Hydrating Hand Sanitizer Blue Sandalwood (thank you @itsfi ). This is such a freah scent and it brings back memories from Sephoria. It doesn't leave my hands feeling sticky or dry. Just clean.

PATRICK TA Major Dimension III Matte Eyeshadow Palette has become a staple in my routine lately. It blends really well. I find this is a great palette to mix with a lot of the palettes I already own aswell.

HAUS LABS BY LADY GAGA Hy-Power Eye, Cheek & Lip Pigment Paint Beige Matte - I have been using this as an eyeshadow base. It blends out evenly and eyeshadow lays nicely on top of it.

Juice Beauty Apple Cleanser - I beleive I received this a long time ago from Sephora using a promo code. This cleanser leaves my skin feeling clean and I also enjoy the scent.

JVN Complete Pre-Wash Scalp & Hair Strengthening Treatment Oil 1.7 oz/ 50 mL - This oil has been auch a treat. I usually massage this into my scalp on wash day (or the night before). This was a repurchase for me.

LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask Intense Hydration with Vitamin C Sweet Candy (mini) - I use this nightly before bed. I purchased LANEIGE Midnight Minis Set either last year or the year before and I can't beleive how long it lasted.

@Mellmars1185 The Touchland Power Mist Hydrating Hand Sanitizer Blue Sandalwood is so nice!  I love all of their sanitizers and you're right, no sticky feeling or dry, just clean.  I think it's a great memory of Sephoria too, and one that you can get anytime you need a pick me up!

ohhh @Mellmars1185, the memories!!! Everyone was so gracious and accommodating of my offers of "hand sanitizer?" I'm loving what I'm hearing from you about that Haus Labs pigment - do you apply it with your fingers or a brush?
