Monthly Favorites: January 2020 Edition!

Whew – one month down, eleven more to go in 2020, BIC! 😄 Now that we’re near the end of January, it’s time for us to share our favorite beauty products of the month. I know many of us are following beauty-related new year’s resolutions like finally finishing up a stash of products or going on beauty low-buys, so I’m extremely curious what products made it out on top for you this month. Whether it’s skincare, hair care, makeup, or fragrance, the Beauty Insider Community would love to know your favorites.

Good to know, @keana1 🤗 I’ve been making some changes, and it is definitely helping. Sleeping better overall but still periods of massively interrupted 💤 for no rhyme or reason🤷🏻‍♀️ Such is life:)

Nothing compares for me, @ather. it’s the most natural looking under eye product I’ve tried💗

@eshoe This is a sort of weird question, but does your Biossance cream smell slightly..funky? I'm working through a few of the 5ml sample sizes and gifted the full size to my mum (and I think my sister too) and I love the texture and hydration, but there's definitely a smell. It goes away very shortly after I apply, but for that brief moment (and in the jar) it's like...feet? Feet on my face? yeah...

Boy brow for the win! I picked up the brow flick when there was a pop up in Boston during the summer then promptly lost it 😞

@MissPuff hmmmm...I wouldn’t say funky; it’s definitely not something that stands out to me though as bad. I wonder if squalane has a short shelf life. Is it that ‘oil-gone-bad’ sort of funk? I’ve used a few different Biossance products and either they are scentless or (like the Tea Tree Detox mask) very obvious. I’m thinking the oil may have turned in yours, which...bummer🤨

Also a huge bummer-losing your boy brow right after buying it😭

@eshoe @MissPuff The Ordinary 100% plant derived squalane has a shelf life of 12 months once it’s opened to give you an idea ( mine doesn’t smell weird ) but I don’t know about the Biossance since it’s mixed with other ingredients?

I don’t know either @keana1 @except that anything I’ve used with plant derived oils tends to go off earlier than I expect, so I *try* to remember to use them up asap.

@eshoe  It's not the rancid smell, it's something else...Hmmm, I've got other Biossance products that are older, though I guess they're all the different liquid oils, and the lip balm, rather than the cream. Bummer.

@WinglessOne I’ve never tried smashboxes primer. I’ve mainly use urban decay. I’ll give it a try based on your recommendation. I actually like that it’s in a squeeze tube. I don’t like it and decay wand. It’s more sanitary with a squeeze tube.
