So... all of a sudden, a TON of items on my loves page cannot be shipped to Canada. Some of these I've even already purchased in the past. What's going on here??
CORRECTION: I think I mixed up Sunday Riley with another brand, so it may not actually be at Holts. Sorry for the confusion...
Dermablend is at SDM??? I've never seen it... but Ottawa kinda sucks... they took away UD.
Oh gotta do some investigating 😉
Thank you! I didn't know HR carried Sunday Riley. A bit relieved now.
Hi,
Which shoppers in the GTA carries lavanila? I've been checking at the shoppers in my area (Brampton) and none of them do.
I wondered this too. You can order a handful of Lavanila fragrances on murale.ca though.
I'm in Etobicoke and there are a few in my area that carry it. Definitely not the full range of products, but better than nothing
I don't recall ever seeing it in Shoppers, but it's available on Murale dot ca
Thank you! I stopped my cosmetic shopping at HR so long ago, I didn't realize I should now go back for Sunday Riley. I never cared for SDM either, but I will return for the Lavanila!
Did we ever have Chanel? I thought I remembered that we weren't able to view any Chanel items... but I could be misremembering.
either way, this is depressing. Glad I picked up the Ardency Inn shadows that I wanted before this. I'm really going to mourn my MDSolarSciences though 😞
Oh maybe, I'm not sure TBH. I mostly just compared the brand list showing on .ca to the one on .com for these.
There were only a few brands I knew we didn't have originally, like Christian Louboutin and HUM, etc, but I've never kept my eye on Chanel, so it's possible 🙂
Just...wow.
I know. I actually didn't think it would be that many.
It makes me laugh, because they were saying, oh look, you now have access to a bunch of great new brands!
88 lost vs 9 gained... it's not rocket science how we're going to feel about this...
I know right? 88 lost vs 9 gained really says it all
And the ones we "gained" are brands we already have access to at other stores... As you pointed out in an earlier post. Sigh, Sephora, sigh...
OMG! CRAZY! That's a lot of work. Thanks for sharing! Really getting a better idea looking at this!
The new brands for Canada seem to be:
Biotherm
Dsquared2
Elie Saab
Kate Spade New York
Lab Series For Men
Olfactive Studio
Salvatore Ferragamo
Skin Republic
Shu Uemura
Majority of these are fragrance lines and the rest were either already available in store or at places like The Bay or SDM.
For those who love Shu… as I posted before, if you want a good selection, go to Hudsons Bay or Holts. Their counters are huge, while Sephora only carries a small selection.
Sephora's claim this move is saving on DUTY:
I would always double check the TAXES before checking out and only a few rare occassions was I charged more than the standard tax, and usually it was a few cents (like .10) which never made sense to me as being "duty" but I did not complain as it was so little it made no difference to me.
Sephora's claim this move is saving shipping $$$
I am VIP rouge which means I spend at minimum $1000 a year; and I can tell you my rouge status has never lapsed and I spend well well well over this a year. So I already received FREE shipping.
Sephora's claim this move reducing shipping time
At most I waiting 7 business days for a package, at best I got it in 4 days. Receiving something next day is great but not ESSENTIAL to me. Product selection is better
Sephora's claim this move increases product selection
Really --- WHAT, if it's so wonderful kindly publish a list of specifically what extra's are now available that were not before.
Sephora's claim on packaging
Why are bundles not available when the items can be purchased individually. Example, we cannot purchase DRYBAR as a brand, but drybar has a product included in the Sephora ultimate hair essentials kit that is available on Sephora.ca Example the KVD chrysalis bundle, you can purchase individually but not the bundle.
And so much more such as promo codes, VIP perks, early access -- Someone already mentioned holiday releases .. this is huge.
The individuals that post here are your FREQUENT shoppers -- not one off's --- we buy alot of make up not because we typically NEED it but because we WANT it ... it is clients like us that have made Sephora a lot of money.
Ladies, sites like NAIMIES (which sells LORAC ships to Canada); Beautylish, Beauty.com, LadyMoss.com -- all the independents do it like Makeup Geek, Color Pop, SOLA, Gerard Cosmetics (okay not the best example but they do ship to Canada). TOO Faced has finally introduced shipping to Canada as well.
I don't think we will get the resolution we want from sephora, we just have to exercise our right to shop elsewhere.
