2018 was a big year for all of us here in the Beauty Insider Community. We fell in love with new skincare products, swatched oh-so-many palettes, attended some incredible events, learned about products we didn't love and made new friends right here in the process. With 2018 in mind, we want to hear what your 2019 beauty resolutions are. Maybe you want to drink more water to achieve ultimate skin health or you are ready to pan that eyeshadow palette you've been working on since 2017.
Whatever your 2019 beauty resolutions are, we want to hear them! Please use this thread as a place to share, keep yourself accountable, and support others!
@KatieBT even though I donate a lot of them I still have a huge box full of minis. I need to use them before they go bad. 😄
Great thread and way to kick off the new year @KatieBT!
My life resolutions are:
-Exercise more
-Go out more
-Save more money
-Declutter/Purge my house of things I no longer use/need (I did a lot of this already this year but still have a lot of work to do)
-Make a BIC Meet-Up happen
My beauty related resolutions:
-Be better about taking off makeup at the end of the night
-Mask more!
-Dabble with more color
-Shop my stash more often
@gonerogue these are great resolutions and YES to a BIC meetup!! I feel like the key to removing makeup is to find a product that removes makeup with minimal effort. Have you tried the MAKEUP ERASER - The Original MakeUp Eraser® Makeup Remover Cloth? You just get it damp and it makes everything, even stubborn mascara, come off in seconds. Total game changer!
@KatieBT you know I actually haven’t tried it yet but I have been curious about it. My problem in 2018 was coming home exhausted from work and sleeping in my makeup the minute I laid down to rest. I think I need to stop being lazy and just take off my makeup the minute I walk in the door or else I will have major breakouts 🙈 Maybe you can put the word out for a BIC meet up in your next meeting @KatieBT ?? 😉😉😉
I was just coming back to this thread to add: shop my stash! @gonerogue
Count me in @sister13, @gonerogue. I need to be serious about shop my stash and save save save. The idea of early retirement or cut down numbers of work hours are more appealing to me the older I get 🤣😂
@KatieBT 1. get up in the morning so I actually put on my makeup--I've downloaded the alarmy app to help with this.
2. try more K-beauty. I recently got a too cool for school milky lip tint and I ❤ it
@jbean90 why is waking up so difficult? I blame daylight savings on my zombie-like laziness in the morning. I am looking into that app asap!
@KatieBT YAY for a New Year, I am so excited for a fresh start to everything 🥳 Happy New Year to all of you!
Beautywise, I have a few goals for myself.
1) Foundation: I’ve been searching for a medium-full coverage foundation for a couple of months now, and while I think I’ve found my HG, I want to try a few more to be sure.
2) Eyeshadow: using the new palettes from this year, I want to have some fun with them and create some new looks.
3) Skincare: mask! Then mask some more;)
4) Continue having fun sharing all of the above and learning great tips with BICers😄
@eshoe I think #4 is my favorite 😄
What's the HG foundation you've found? I feel like the search always continues with foundation... At least you can always request a sample to test new formulas out!
@KatieBT I’ve tried quite a few so far but am head over heels for the GIORGIO ARMANI BEAUTY - Luminous Silk Foundation. It applies like a dream, I can build it up without it looking cakey, and at the end of the day, it still looks as fresh as when I first applied it. I’m testing out a YSL one now, which meets all of the above except it doesn’t wear as well. I have the Natasha Denona sample to try next 😊
I want to try and use masks more often especially in the summer when I am really busy with work, gardening and going on fun day trips and I tend to get a bit lazy about skin care.
@KatieBT There are so many things I want to do!
Wear more makeup to work
Cut several inches off my hair
Use hair masks
Introduce new skincare items (AHA, DE, try facial oils to see if they will decrease my oily skin; try a higher concentration of Retin-A)
Paint my nails regularly
Shop my stash of eye palettes
Try some beauty items I've been dragging my feet on for years (like B&B Invisible Hair Oil)
Organize my makeup
Go through my samples
Expand my brush collection...
@greeneyedgirl107 love this list! Getting a haircut... Yes to that, I rarely cut my hair 😄 And you must try the Hairdressers Invisible Oil, it's magical!
I am going with super cliche, but I really need to get back into a more regular exercise routine! To achieve it and some other resolutions, I basically have a general need to organize my time better, slow down and create more time with family and friends and for self-care!
@sister13 LOVE that gif and love the Mindy Project Show, too!
<3333
@sister13 that GIF is everything 😄 This one hits home for me... Organizing time and prioritizing yourself is a hard habit to create but it's so worth it. I schedule workouts in advance and get charged about $20 if I cancel last minute or skip. I am really good at skipping the gym if I have a monthly membership so the scheduling aspect keeps me accountable and may be worth a try!
