2018 was a big year for all of us here in the Beauty Insider Community. We fell in love with new skincare products, swatched oh-so-many palettes, attended some incredible events, learned about products we didn't love and made new friends right here in the process. With 2018 in mind, we want to hear what your 2019 beauty resolutions are. Maybe you want to drink more water to achieve ultimate skin health or you are ready to pan that eyeshadow palette you've been working on since 2017.
Whatever your 2019 beauty resolutions are, we want to hear them! Please use this thread as a place to share, keep yourself accountable, and support others!
1.) Get comfortable doing a 'full face' of makeup. When I wear makeup, I usually just do lips, eyeliner and mascara. Lately I've added some highlighter...but I want to learn how to do a full face.
2.) Just in general wear makeup more often. As it is I wear it (the little bit that it is) maybe once a week, more usually once every other week. In my own defense, I tend to wear it so little because having to normally be at work at 5:30 am...I get up early enough as is! LOL So my goal is wearing it 2-3 times a week...my two days off and the one day I usually get to go in later. 🙂
3.) Learn some retro hair styles. I just love classic hairstyles (and, in general the 'pin-up' look!) and have been wanting to learn a few - victory rolls especially!
4.) More water, more exercise, healthier eating and regular vitamins! Not directly beauty, but I feel it kind of goes hand in hand! 🙂
My beauty resolutions @KatieBT is to try to use more colours is in my makeup as I feel I tend to stick to the same colours when I do my makeup . I also want to try to use up the makeup I have before I buy more which will be hard because I love buying makeup and trying new beauty products lol 💜🤞 Happy New Years 🎉
1. To work on organizing my makeup collection. I currently have too many things out of sight, and then I never wind up using them.
2. To actually start doing something with my hair! I usually just let it air dry, but I’d like to start making more of an effort.
3. To be more consistent with skincare. Sometimes at night I get too tired to mess with it.
This is an odd one...maybe?
Everyone who knows me just calls me "Red". I suit my very unnatural cool toned red hair. I know I do. I've owned my own salon, I've worked in this industry 20+ years. I attempted a change 3.5 years ago when I was lost in the world and it lasted ONE DAY. I needed the safety of my red, I don't now.
I'm going blonde. The healthy way. Which means I will go through shades of pink 😭 then orange 😭 then gold 😭 then eventually a beautiful blonde.
RIP Red Hair...you've been fun for 18 years.
@GG84 Your red hair is SO SO beautiful with such a nice luster to it! Excited for you that you want to try a different colour though. Curious to see the transition if you decide to post about it 🙂
@GG84 Changing your hair isn't easy when you've mastered a color you love but I'm sure your blonde will be gorgeous once you get there 🙂 I hope that you take us along on the journey and share all of the products you use to fight damage and tone your hair!
That sounds exciting, @GG84! Enjoy having blonde hair!
Ohhh blonde! I miss blonde. 😄 It will be a nice change!!! @GG84
@KatieBT My 2019 resolutions are to:
Fix my hair at least 3 times a week.
Experiment with new eye looks.
Clean my brushes more often.
Do my nails at home.
Drink more water.
@KatieBT The only one I have accomplished so far is to clean my brushes more often. I need to get started on the others!
@faeriegirl If you let your brushes get as dirty as I do, I would argue that's the toughest on your list. The rest will be smooth sailing 🙂
Please show off your hair looks, I could use some inspiration!
I would like to find a new skincare routine that works for me, since I’m giving up my beloved retinoids.
I’d also like to use more eyeshadow. If I’m running late on time in the mornings I tend to just skip the eyeshadow, so I want to make it a goal to wear eyeshadow much more often.
My resolution is pretty simple...2019 is gonna be all about the eyes, for me

I'm confident I can hit at least one of these *crossing my fingers*
@ZombieMetroAnt What great resolutions. I recommend putting a mirror under you (on the floor or table) and looking down and applying the lashes. This allows you to see where you are applying the lashes without having so much in the way. Another trick, let your glue dry! People often apply the glue and try to pop lashes on right away. This is the easiest mistake to make. Let the glue get tacky before applying. This will help them from moving around. Hope this helps 🙂
Best,
Rebecca
@ZombieMetroAnt I love the theme! Mastering falsies is a great resolution, would be so fun to time yourself and see how you progress over the year 😄
Great thread, @KatieBT!
I want to focus on beauty from the inside out, so I plan to get more sleep and drink more water in 2019!
As far as products go, I aim to sparkle more and break even more rules when it comes to beauty! It's going to be awesome! ❤️
