I recommend the Tatcha Deep Cleanser - my pores got really big around a month ago and a lot of blackheads started appearing. After literally one use of the cleanser I saw all the gunk disappear, and now my pores had gotten a lot smaller and less noticeable! It’s also very gentle so it doesn’t strip your skin/make it feel tight afterwards.

@emye So I have not tried the fresh Creme Ancienne, but generally I love their products. That being said they all contain a fair amount of fragrance which can effect how your skin will react. I love the way all fresh products smell, I find it super refreshing and light and the formulas always work very well for me. The La Mer has a very pronounced rose smell and also contains fragrances. I definitely did not care for the scent. The moisturizer itself was very rich and oil heavy, and I would generally only recommend this product if your skin is fairly dry and you were looking to use this at night. I liked the results it gave as my skin does need a fair amount of moisture overnight, but ultimately I did not find it more impressive than my $44 jar of Origins Nightamins.  Definitely do you, and this post is in no way meant to be judgmental because everyone's budget/values/needs are different but frankly I would not consider purchasing the La Mer, and while I would maybe consider the Fresh at some point if my personal budget restraints were different, if this is a large expense for you I would wait on it because probably neither are life-changing enough to justify the cost if you've never tried them before/don't know what to expect.

I use a prescription trentinoin/azelic acid/niacamide. I started with the Trentoin at .02% and was just increased to .05% I use it every night with lumene sleeping cream, Roc eye cream with retinol and laneige lip mask. My daytime routine is a vitamin c 20%, vitamin E, hydraulic acid, ferulic acid and amino blend serum, coenzyme Q10 serum, Neutrogena Hydro Boost water gel moisturizer and eye gel and sunscreen. My skin has never looked or felt better and I’ve had no issues with dryness

I went through a big DE phase in college, then fell out of it, and am recently falling back in love. For context, I am 24, have combo skin depending on the weather, and have hormonal acne problems. My main goal with skincare is trying to get my clogged pores/hormonal breakouts under control, and to prevent any from happening which can be hard. I used to use Face Reality from my esthetician, but it's also expensive and hard to get. I recently started introducing DE products in one by one, and have had a wonderful reaction.   If you have sensitive skin, I'd recommend stopping all other skincare, and introducing the DE products a little at a time (the Little could be a great investment). I love the Glycolic night serum - this has always been great at resurfacing my skin, providing exfoliation and clearing up clogged pores. Their B-Hydra is great, too, and I just bought their Protini and love it so far. If you can afford the investment, I'd go for it!! I've been so happy with my purchases and can't stop raving about the philosophy of the company, and their belief behind skincareDRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide MoisturizerDRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. To reiterate what @RGbrown said below, @luna345, with double cleansing, you're using one oil-based cleanser to remove makeup and sunscreen and one water-based cleanser to clean your skin. The oil-based cleanser can be in oil or balm form and there are some who prefer to use micellar water instead. You apply the oil to dry skin and massage it into your face for a minute or two to loosen up all the sunscreen and makeup residue. Then rinse with water. After you've rinsed completely, apply your water-based cleanser and massage that into your skin before rinsing again. Wipes are ok once in a while, but they don't normally remove all of your makeup/sunscreen residue and aren't the best for your skin.  Using the double cleansing method can help keep your pores clean and cut down on clogs and breakouts.

I really liked the cleanser. It was gentle and I didn’t feel like it stripped my skin. I double cleanse so I’m not sure how well it cleanses makeuoon its own. I didn’t use it too close to my eyes so not sure if it would have stung. I wish it wasn’t so expensive, otherwise I’d buy it regularly.i wasn’t a fan of the moisturizer. It felt like it never fully absorbed and left a filmy feeling on my skin..my husband felt the same way. It was also too light for my combination skin.. I had to go over with my other daily moisturizer

@Krysa13 It sounds like your cleanser lathers a lot, right? When I wash my face everyday, I notice that my cleanser doesn’t lather like crazy so that could be one reason why I never get this issue. I also put the cleanser on my nose but never underneath the nose area (think like a face mask) to avoid these particular situations.

@JodiDC  It's a little pricey, but BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Glycolic Renewal Facialis a fantastic clean mask for that purpose. It leaves my skin soft and glowing! The acids would help with cell turnover/mark fading. Otherwise, I use their Tea Tree Detox mask weekly as my skin is combo/acne prone but I will say that one stung a little while my skin was dry this winter. If you would prefer a serum, FARMACY - HONEYMOON GLOW AHA Resurfacing Night Serum with Hydrating Honey + Gentle Flower Acidsis a good formula- though for sensitive skin I would recommend starting slow and diluting it in your nighttime moisturizer at the beginning.  I use (and love) YTTP's antioxidant whip moisturizer and I was super excited to get their adaptogen moisturizer in my Play! box so we'll see if that's a winner too! I like the dream mask, love the smell, but I probably won't repurchase because I just prefer a serum/moisturizer/oil combo for my nightly routine

@titian wrote:I've used everything you mentioned except for the FAB cream... it's on my try list! I have combo-dry, dehydrated skin with rosacea and have also dealt with eczema on and off throughout my life. I also live in northern Wisconsin and spend a lot of time outside, so proper winter protection is critical for me. I look for moisturizers with a nice balance of humectants (e.g. glycerin, hyaluronic acid/derivatives, urea, honey) to draw moisture from lower layers of the skin, emollients and occlusives (e.g. squalane, lanolin, shea butter, dimethicone, caprylic/capric triglycerides) to seal in the moisture, and conditioners (e.g. ceramides, cholesterol, fatty acids and alcohols) to heal and fortify the skin barrier. The Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin and Clinique Moisture Surge lines have a balanced abundance of these ingredients and a minimum of ingredients problematic for dry and/or reactive skin. They're also cosmetically elegant and behave themselves under SPF and makeup. The products I tried from those lines work brilliantly and have never caused adverse effects for me. The CeraVe and Cetaphil face moisturizers are obviously much more pared down, the benefits of which are less risk of irritation and lower price of course. However, the ones I've tried don't keep my skin moisturized as long, don't condition as thoroughly, and are much less cosmetically elegant. Still solid options, but for me it's worth the splurge for all those additional ingredients. Okay... that was overkill, haha. But having rather finicky skin, I've tried a lot of different moisturizers and I figure I should share that experience! may i ask why you would want to draw moisture from the lower layers of skin? wouldn't that aggravate your skin more? thanks!
