January | Fresh Starts - Time for a re-set, or morning masking? However you see it, this month is all about new beginnings. |
February | Winter Love - Whether it's a mask you adore, or something extra-special to care for dry winter skin, this month is for some soothing TLC. |
March | March Madness - Competition is in the air! Find a $ dupe of a $$$ mask that is share-worthy? Or find a dupe that works even better than the original? Details, please! |
April | Spring Fling - Baskets and bouquets, showers of much-anticipated rain...this month's focus is herbal and floral sensory delights. |
May | Dew Drops - May Day lore says to wash your face in the dew you collect in the morning of the first day of May for radiant skin. This month is for absorbing all of that good-for-you H2O. |
June | Summer Sunshine - Ice cream, sunglasses, SPF, check! Once the sun is down (or before it's up), extra care is most necessary. How do you give your skin cooling repair? |

Thank you @Aaliaa for starting this thread, and giving us a place to share our love for masks๐
Naisture seems to be consistently good for your skin, @lmaster! Hurrah for a multi-step that isnโt a pain ๐
@eshoe yes this multi step is so hydrating and brings my skin back!
I think this was a theme from sometime last week (masks with numbers):
111Skin Rose Gold Brightening Facial Mask:
It's a hydrogel mask with rose and 24k gold. It's advertised as brightening skin and reducing wrinkles/fine lines. I think I have mixed feelings on this one. I definitely wouldn't pay full price for it, first of all. It was very comfortable given it's a hydrogel; however, I think it would have worked better for me if it came in two pieces. It fit too large, so the chin part just kind of hung down and it kept sliding down my face. The floral fragrance was also a bit strong. There was some tingling, but in a good/refreshing way. I did feel like my skin felt smoother, glowy, and it stayed hydrated for the rest of the day. In sum, good results, but the fit made it a bit tricky to wear.
Ingredients:
AQUA / WATER / EAU, GLYCERIN, DIPROPYLENE GLYCOL, BENZYL GLYCOL, CARRAGEENAN, CERATONIA SILIQUA GUM, XANTHAN GUM, CELLULOSE GUM, PEG-60 HYDROGENATED CASTOR OIL, ALLANTOIN, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, SYNTHETIC FLUORPHLOGOPITE, PRUNUS ARMENIACA (APRICOT / ABRICOT) KERNEL OIL, PANTHENOL, TREHALOSE, NIACINAMIDE, CITRUS PARADISI (GRAPEFRUIT / PAMPLEMOUSSE) FRUIT EXTRACT, ALCOHOL, CENTELLA ASIATICA EXTRACT, GLYCYRRHIZA GLABRA (LIQUORICE / RรGLISSE) ROOT EXTRACT, AGAR, CYAMOPSIS TETRAGONOLOBA GUM, RASPBERRY KETONE, ADENOSINE, CALCIUM LACTATE, DISODIUM EDTA, POTASSIUM CHLORIDE, GLUCOSE, TOCOPHERYL ACETATE, PHENOXYETHANOL, SODIUM HYALURONATE, 1,2-HEXANEDIOL, PULLULAN, HYDROXYPROPYL METHYLCELLULOSE, PORPHYRIDIUM CRUENTUM EXTRACT, ROSA DAMASCENA (ROSE) EXTRACT, HYDROLYZED COLLAGEN, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, SILK AMINO ACIDS, GLYCINE SOJA (SOYBEAN / SOJA) OIL, SODIUM OLEATE, COLLOIDAL GOLD, HYDROGENATED LECITHIN, ACETYL HEXAPEPTIDE-8, FRAGRANCE / PARFUM, CI 77891 / TITANIUM DIOXIDE, CI 77491 / IRON OXIDE.
PARAFFIN AND SULFATE FREE.
Sounds like the results were nice, @PrettyPaint but for that price, I would definitely want a good fit too!
@quspork Totally agree. I think I got this from a subscription box, so definitely got it on sale!
Hmmmm... @PrettyPaint I often wish more masks were a two piece. Too bad about the fit on this one.
@missjeanie I think it definitely would have stayed on a lot better if it were two pieces. I don't usually have time to lie down when masking! ๐
@PrettyPaint I have a hard time imagining any mask that would really be worth that much - but definitely fun to try! Happy to the results were great!
@Shosh85 Totally. I definitely would never dream of paying full price. ๐
@PrettyPaint, we were mask twinsies! ๐ I think the consensus with this mask is that full price is a more than we'd pay for it. It's a nice mask to try.
@itsfi Oh I didn't even realize you tried this one too. I totally need to catch up on this thread...I'll be looking for your thoughts!
I think having mixed feelings about a pricey mask is better than falling in love with it, @PrettyPaint ๐
@eshoe That is a really good point! Thankfully, this one seems to frequently be in subscription boxes.
I feel like some of these luxe sheets are way overrated @PrettyPaint so many great choices for much less ๐ฒ
@lmaster I completely agree. I haven't noticed any correlation between quality and price for the most part.
Its still Sunday night for me, so I'm counting as the first week still.
Both the PineApple and Avacado masks count toward "A" masks that need to be used right away (the Avocado Holika Holika mask expires on the 6th ๐ ).
Hanalei masks - Pear was the standout here, but both of these are lovely. Neither of them have an overwhelming scent and both have an okay fit. Tons of serum, like glop a bunch on the floor and am still able to cover my upper body with serum. A bit tacky, but I wear before (in) bed, so I don't mind. I got these with Ipsy add-ons (before I cancelled because they dislike their Canadian customers), with a few others and they've all been winners. I would definitely pick up if I could find.
Pear - A-
Pineapple - B (could have more brightening ingredients, but was brightening and hydrating so wins for doing both).
Holika Holika Avacado Mask - I snagged this out of the MOTM box because I wanted to try the brand. I grabbed for use thinking it was a nourishing mask, but was confused by the firming note. It is definitely nourishing a leaves my skin a bit bouncy. I'm just not sure what would be firming in the ingredients. Not too much scent, easy package (I really like how these masks open), okayish-good fit. Glad I tried. Would pick up another "flavor" from this brand but wouldn't buy this one unless a great deal. B-.
Package Everyday Bouncy - Gosh, this is cute packaging. Claims to make skin glowing and bouncing and it overall does, but not, like exceedingly. Nice tencil sheet. Okayish fit. Fair bit of serum. A scent, but dissipates quickly. B. [Can I count this as my band name mask too, lol? Everyday Bouncy sounds like a fun band].
boscia Luminizing Black Charcoal Mask 2.8 oz/ 80 g - I think I've had this open for a while now, so I want to use it up as I'm sure I'm approaching the POA date. I don't love these peel off type masks as much I have in the past, but this is one of my faves. I think using it once a month or so is how I'm going to proceed forward. Sundays are my deep clean charcoal mask days and for most of the year I've been using one that I don't like, so the last month or so, I've just been avoiding it and so felt that a good charcoal peel off was just what my skin needed. And it was great, made my skin look clearer and just felt nicer.
Some masks I've used recent ish but can't remember how they were beyond the Sweet Dreams mask having a lot of a scent. I have multiples of these, so I'll be using again soon.
@haleyvvvv Ouuhhh I like seeing all the masks together like this! Those Hanalei masks look so cute. I have a couple from ipsy as well. I only wanted them for the shape of the packaging but am glad to hear they worked out well for you and know to use them laying down now!
Thank you, @heartsmyface!! They don't have to be used laying down, I just often am when I mask.
I'm glad to hear you like the Hanalei masks, @haleyvvvv! I'm definitely looking to try some more of theirs out at some point.
looks like a couple of good ones @haleyvvvv !
