Welcome to the 2024 Masking Challenge!
This year is going to be a little different - simplified. Easy. Every month will have a new theme, and that's it. Feel free to join in whenever and wherever. Most importantly - have fun!
Spring Fling - Baskets and bouquets, showers of much-anticipated rain...this month's focus is herbal and floral sensory delights ๐ฎ
January | Fresh Starts - Time for a re-set, or morning masking? However you see it, this month is all about new beginnings. |
February | Winter Love - Whether it's a mask you adore, or something extra-special to care for dry winter skin, this month is for some soothing TLC. |
March | March Madness - Competition is in the air! Find a $ dupe of a $$$ mask that is share-worthy? Or find a dupe that works even better than the original? Details, please! |
April | Spring Fling - Baskets and bouquets, showers of much-anticipated rain...this month's focus is herbal and floral sensory delights. |
May | Dew Drops - May Day lore says to wash your face in the dew you collect in the morning of the first day of May for radiant skin. This month is for absorbing all of that good-for-you H2O. |
June | Summer Sunshine - Ice cream, sunglasses, SPF, check! Once the sun is down (or before it's up), extra care is most necessary. How do you give your skin cooling repair? |

Thank you @Aaliaa for starting this thread, and giving us a place to share our love for masks๐
It does smell like you can eat it! @Shosh85 dangerous around little ones... and big babies like me. But unlike Glow Recipe I'm sure it would be a disaster if I accidently got some of this in my mouth.
This is one of my favorite masks @Weetart! ๐ Love the scent, love the results! Perfect year round, but so fitting for the fall!
Same here @itsfi ! It's one that I actually get through a full container, then actually have to purchase a new one. A must on the shelf. Scrubby wise I also really like OLEHENRIKSEN Pore-Balanceโข Facial Sauna Scrub 3 oz/ 85 g it leaves my skin feeling fresh and soft as a baby bottom. I haven't tried OLEHENRIKSEN Cold Plunge Pore Mask 3 oz/ 90 mL ... why haven't I?
100% agree @Weetart. ๐๐ผ There are few wash off masks that I repurchase as a full size, and the PTR pumpkin is one of them. Ooouh, very good to know - I have a mini set with that OH sauna scrub. It leaves your skin soft and smooth like a babyโs bum? ๐ค Well then, I definitely need to give it a go soon. The Cold Plunge Pore is a nice one; I was โmehโ about it the first time I tried it but gave it another shot and have really liked having it as part of my mask stash. ๐ The cooling sensation and color are added perks. ๐
WHAT IT IS
This refreshing gel mask helps refine texture & brighten to boost skinโs clarityโleaving you looking luminous.
WHAT IT IS FORMULATED TO DO
A juicy burst of hydration for skin, this SuperFruit mask with Dragon Fruit & Vitamin C helps boost radiance to improve skinโs clarity. Crushed Walnut Shell exfoliators gently exfoliate & refine skinโs texture, and Tangerine, Lemon & Blackcurrant leave you feeling refreshed.
I didn't notice anything, but than again my sample is from when they sent them out to be tested. This is the one with the walnut shells in it, so I will be discarding this.
@Samtian I don't blame you for discarding it
@lmaster It's a good lesson to remind myself, if I used things when they were new I wouldn't have to toss so much lol.
It's too bad about the shells and lack of performance, @Samtian. I think I remember liking this one ok when they sent out the samples, but I honestly can't remember which one I preferred at the time.
@Samtian Sounds refreshing! Too bad thereโs walnut shells in it.
@Samtian I havenโt tried this one, and now that I know there are walnut shells in it, can cross it off my list. Everything else about it sounds delicious!
@eshoe It does, but there were quite a lot of shells,I thought they were seeds at first.
@Samtian I'm not too fond of the walnut shells either - I voted for the Ginger Kombucha one ๐
Sorry about the walnut shells @Samtian. The "juicy burst of hydration" sounds wonderful. I think I have this mask ... somewhere. Will have to look for it and then pair it with an actual dragonfruit for a snack. I know Samtian, it's always food and masks ~ what are we going to do with me?!! ๐๐คฃ๐
@itsfi I will never complain about seeing food lol.
This one has walnut shells in it?
also darn, sorry to hear it wasnโt the best. Iโve been wanting to try this forever because I love their masks. Maybe thatโs why this one isnโt stocked as much as others.
@Weetart Yep. I wonder if they even make it anymore. Out of the two they had sent out this was definitely my least favorite, but I believe it won the popular vote.
Q is for Quret
Heavily saturated (but not dripping) in a clear, thin, and unscented essence, the soft, thin, Tencel material of the Quret Brazil Nut Mask Sheet clings gently and snugly to the skin, melding into the contours of my face. The spacing and shape of the eyes, nose and mouth need no additional adjustments. The width of the mask is just a hair too wide at the temples, hardly enough to require use of my mini scissors, which with this particular mask, is used to snip off about half an inch at the chin and jawline. The strip removed is more than enough for the sliver of my forehead not covered by the top portion of the sheet mask.
Half an hour passes very quickly as the mask wears so comfortably. With how saturated the mask still feels after my 30-minute masking sesh, it seems like an additional half hour could be had without the sheet mask going dry, which is something I'll try another day because, despite some tackiness after removing the mask and pressing in the remaining essence, the final results - hydrated, nourished skin - were very nice and perfect for my dehydrated, exhausted skin that feels like it is beginning to lean ever-so-slightly dry in certain parts of my face.
