Hello Lovelies! As we make our resolutions and check them twice, I thought we could start a skincare version of the Weekly Challenge. Many of us wanted to use more masks, shop our stash and focus on our Skin so hopefully this thread will be an inspiration to do just that. Join us with pictures and comments down below.
Masking Spreadsheet Info
Hello every, @eshoe and I are very happy to present the BIC Masking Challenge Spreadsheet. The idea is to have an easily searchable database of masks and reviews as a reference point when we are considering our next purchase. Data integrity was important to us so instead of everyone inputing data directly into the spreadsheet where theoretically information could be deleted or edited we have the questionnaire. It should take no longer then 1-2 minutes with the option for a more detailed review (which you can copy from your post on this thread).
Remember the idea is not to replace this thread. I personally love reading, commenting and interacting with all you amazing women here and that shouldnโt change. This would just be on top of that. Hopefully the more people that partake in this, the larger database of information weโll have for reference. It will be extra effort in the beginning but then we would only need to input any new mask weโve tried.
Additional Info:
Since we arenโt allowed to post links, please PM or myself for it. You will also find this information on the original post so you donโt need a database to search for this post!
Incase you need some help to filter/search results, try this :-
Search Specific Word or Phrase โ> Edit -> Find and Replace -> Search Word
Filter/Organize by Columns --> Data -> Create a Filter -> Select Options
There are 2 ways to edit a response:
1) Once you have completed a survey, click on the "Edit Your Response" link on that page. Once this page is closed, the only way to make a change is to:
2) PM @Aaliaa or @eshoe to make the change directly in the response spreadsheet
Thanks @eshoe for putting this together!
Rules
Each week there will be a new Masking Challenge posted. It will range from type of mask, brand specific week or fun challenges along the way.
Choose mask, take picture (with mask on or before), place mask on face, relax and dream of the next Sephora purchase you want to make, remove mask for healthier skin.
Have Fun!!
P.S. If you have any suggestions or challenge recommendations feel free to message me and I'll add them to the list.

Merry Masking!
@Shosh85 Thank you.it's a combination of eating right and zero alcohol, and the right skin careโบ
The last of last weeks masking!
The Cream shop Hyaluronic Acid mask could quickly become a favourite. My skin has been so dry lately with the -30C weather and this mask just felt so good! It had a lot of serum, it fit fairly well, it stayed on nicely and stayed 'wet' for a good 40 minutes when I took it off. No discernible scent, the serum was a bit on the thicker side and best of all, my skin felt nicely hydrated after. I could have gotten away without a moisturizer if it had been summer, but I applied an oil and moisturizer after since I've been getting some flaking off and on in spots. I bought a back up pack of these guys the next day. They'll get used up this winter for sure!
My Sunday mask was one of the D masks I'd set out at the beginning of the week. Unfortunately due to all the dry skin I didn't want to use some of the heavier detox clay masks. This Dr. Wellness mask came in a set of 4 that I found on clearance for 3$ and figured... why not? Well... Sometimes you get what you pay for lol... The mask it self was quite wet, the serum was the consistency of water. The mask wouldn't stick to my face, so I finally just lied down with it. The scent was nice enough considering I'm not a big tea tree oil fan, it was quite light and fresh. my skin felt a bit tacky after taking it off and I said screw it and just had a shower. I did post shower, massage in all the extra serum, and had to put a moisturizer over this. This mask did nothing for the way my skin felt. I'll use up the other three, but I'm not in a hurry to do so, or expecting much.
loved this guy!
Dr. Wellness Rejuvenating Tea Tree Oil did not rejuvenate.
@missjeanie Sorry to hear the Dr. Wellness mask was a bummer! At least it was cheap!
I have a 5 pack of those Creme Shop masks and have yet to use them!! I'm happy to hear you liked them!! I have dry skin too, so it's good to know they work!! ๐๐ค
@Shosh85 oh yes the Cream Shop Hyaluronic mask will be a pleasure to use for me going forward. I look forward to that mask! It went to show how big of a difference there was with the two!
@missjeanie sorry to hear the Dr. Wellness mask was a letdown. Maybe you can try it out again in the spring or summer, when the weather is warmer. Sometimes that changes how a mask performs for me.
Ahh yes, The Creme Shop hyaluronic acid sheet mask - great for dryness! ๐ฆ
Actually saving them for summer isn't a bad idea @itsfi. They'd be cooling for a few minutes if I had them in the fridge and I *usually don't need as much moisture in the summer.
@lmaster I feel ya... this cold is getting to all of us!
Glad the CS was a hit! I have it so can't wait to get to it. Sorry the other one was a dud @missjeanie
I'm interested to see how everyone else likes the CS mask now. @veronika23 I"m excited to use it again!
I'll for sure post about it when I try it!!! @missjeanie ๐
Iโm sorry that the Dr. Wellness mask wasnโt that great @missjeanie ! Iโve never smelled tea tree oil before ! @itsfi sent me the Face Shop Hyaluronic Acid Mask to try, sounds great!
Sheโs amazing @missjeanie @itsfi ! Iโm sure that Iโll enjoy this mask! My skin loves hyaluronic acid ! ๐
Oh bummer about the Dr. Wellness mask @missjeanie. Masks like that (in sets) are the reason I made a deal with myself to ONLY buy multipacks of known/trusted brands at TJ Maxx๐ They were also what motivated me to start a spreadsheet since I canโt search on the thread;)
@eshoe It was a bit of a bummer. I'm trying to mostly only pick up masks from brands that I recognize, but I figure if something is super cheap, then its not really a big deal if it doesn't work out. At least it didn't do anything bad to my skin!
Yesterdayโs masking : to conclude D and Clean Week, after cleansing my face and making sure ir was dry, I used the DE Sukari babyfacial ( Thanks @itsfi ๐ ) and left it on for 20 minutes which is the recommended time. After rinsing I applied the BOSCIA - Tsubaki Oil Deep Hydrating Bio-Cellulose Mask
Thanks again Fi ๐ ! because it falls into the Clean category and also is rich in Tsubaki oil ( from the Camellia Japonica plant seeds ), sodium hyaluronate, coconut fruit oil & water plus other hydrating ingredients. This bio-cellulose mask is sandwiched between 2 plastic mesh layers and drenched in serum. The fit was perfect so no alterations were needed. ( I kept the remaining serum for future use ). After leaving it on for 60 minutes ( instead of 20 minutes ) I gently removed it ( some parts were stuck on my forehead so when I removed the mask, some tearing occurred ). The mask was dry in some areas ( nose, chin and forehead ) and still damp on both cheeks. This mask deserves an A+ since my skin was very hydrated, moisturized and plump. Absolutely perfect for dry/very dry skin types and for winter. Since I had used the Babyfacial, I tried a new gel from La Roche Posay which is called Cicaplast Gel B5. This is a dermatologist approved gel thatโs used as an epidermal recovery accelerator. Itโs used as a post-peeling, laser, sutures recovery gel. This product contains glycerin, different silicones ( silicones do block pores but are very beneficial for healing purposes ), madecassoside ( from the Centella Asiatica plant ( also known as Tiger Grass ), sodium hyaluronate + other beneficial ingredients ( copper, zinc, manganese etc...) Because itโs rich in silicones, I used the Boscia mask first, since the silicones would have blocked my skin from absorbing the serum from the mask. This gel spreads easily but gives the skin a very shiny aspect due to the silicones. I donโt have blocked pores, never suffered from acne and have dry/very dry skin this gel is perfectly suited for my skin type. Iโll always use this gel after the DE Sukari babyfacial or TO AHA 30%+BHA 2% Peeling solution to minimize irritation and accelerate recovery. ( the DE babyfacial also gets an A+ rating )I also exfoliated my lips with the Sephora Honey Lip Scrub
@keana1 This sounds like a very nice masking session! I've only heard good things about that Boscia mask! Biocellulose really is my favorite type of mask!
I haven't heard of that La Roche-Posay! Thanks for the info! My skin type is pretty much the same as yours โ sounds like something I could use! ๐๐
Thanks @Shosh85 ! I was debating whether to buy Dr.Jart+ Cicapair cream or lotion but the LaRoche Posay Gel wasnโt as expensive and is dermatologist approved! Iโm starting a low buy starting now! Iโm tempted by so many new products but I have to stand my ground, which is going to be difficult ๐ !
@keana1 Oh man, you're telling me! Standing your ground with beauty items especially, is definitely hard for me too! It seems every time I tell myself I'm going on a low-buy, something new and fancy comes out! I get the "urge to splurge" quite often... haha! ๐
I have the same problem @Shosh85 ! Every time I want to be on a low buy, they always come out with new products that are interesting! ๐ฑ February will have to be a NO buy ! I have to renew my professional license and my drivers license ! This sucks!
