Hello Lovelies! As we make our resolutions and check them twice, I thought we could start a skincare version of the Weekly Challenge. Many of us wanted to use more masks, shop our stash and focus on our Skin so hopefully this thread will be an inspiration to do just that. Join us with pictures and comments down below.

Masking Spreadsheet Info

Hello every, @eshoe and I are very happy to present the BIC Masking Challenge Spreadsheet. The idea is to have an easily searchable database of masks and reviews as a reference point when we are considering our next purchase. Data integrity was important to us so instead of everyone inputing data directly into the spreadsheet where theoretically information could be deleted or edited we have the questionnaire. It should take no longer then 1-2 minutes with the option for a more detailed review (which you can copy from your post on this thread).

Remember the idea is not to replace this thread. I personally love reading, commenting and interacting with all you amazing women here and that shouldn’t change. This would just be on top of that. Hopefully the more people that partake in this, the larger database of information we’ll have for reference. It will be extra effort in the beginning but then we would only need to input any new mask we’ve tried.

Since we aren’t allowed to post links, please PM or myself for it. You will also find this information on the original post so you don’t need a database to search for this post!

 Incase you need some help to filter/search results, try this :-

Search Specific Word or Phrase —> Edit -> Find and Replace -> Search Word

Filter/Organize by Columns --> Data -> Create a Filter -> Select Options
 

There are 2 ways to edit a response: 

1) Once you have completed a survey, click on the "Edit Your Response" link on that page. Once this page is closed, the only way to make a change is to:

Each week there will be a new Masking Challenge posted. It will range from type of mask, brand specific week or fun challenges along the way.

Choose mask, take picture (with mask on or before), place mask on face, relax and dream of the next Sephora purchase you want to make, remove mask for healthier skin.

Ahh @rockstargina congrats!! So exciting 👶❤️ A coworker just went on mat leave, and she made sure to avoid retinol (and retinoids), saylicic acid, high strength BHAs, and benzoyl peroxide.

Congrats on the baby bump! 🤰@rockstargina sorry, didnt mask during my pregnancies so no advice for you unfortunately. But I did see some "safe for pregnant women" on the sephora site under the description when I was looking at different masks recently

So this doesn’t fit with the theme for this week (I have limited mask options so I’ll try to join in the challenge when I have something that works), but I tried some theme masking inspired by all the lunar new year releases, the year of the pig 🐷❤️Holika Holika pig-nose clear 3 step mask and Esfolio collagen essence mask

The esfolio on the back says that it’s “pig collagen” aNd I don’t know what that means exactly but it’s very fresh smelling and hydrating. My skin feels really glowy after tapping the serum in. It does have quite a bit of serum (not as much as other Esfolio masks I’ve tried, but still a little drippy). The holika holika I’m torn about. The three steps take a long time (15 mins per step!!). The first is a light serum designed to open the pores and “release” the blackheads, the second is a nose strip similar to a charcoal nose strip that dries hard and you pull off, and the third is very weird. There are two masks in there, one is textured and one is jellylike. I layered them. They’re SO drippy, extra serum from the package dropped onto my shirt as I was trying to put it on my face. I don’t know exactly what the purpose is, but my blackheads seem to be gone and my skin feels hydrated and nice. My only thing is that the second step didn’t seem to have any blackheads on the strip? Maybe I’m just gross but I feel like these things are more effective when I can actually see them on the strip. The blackheads on my nose area seem to be gone though so must be magic 😂

@veronika23 I picked it up at winners! My main disappointment is that the strips didn’t actually look like pig noses.... 😂 I feel like it was a missed opportunity here LOL

@cianni, @SchylarR did a review of that nose mask last summer and it was gut-wrenching 😂 It sounded like an experience I would never want to have masking, so I’m relieved yours wasn’t nearly as intense.

I like that it did it’s job without leaving a mess;)

YAAAASSSS omg!!! 😂My nose looked totally normal on the outside but it felt like someone punched me in the face for days!!! I kept checking for bruising but nope nothing showed up (thankfully). Glad your experience was better!!! @eshoe @cianni

Nope, I have absolutely no idea what caused it!!! I have never had an odd reaction to ANYTHING (including makeup) besides this instance. It was super strange. 😂 @cianni

@eshoe I’ll have to see if I can go back and check her review out! I saw a YouTube video thumbnail and the girl looked like she had tears in her eyes, so maybe I did it wrong? Not that I’m complaining though... The only tears I want while masking are happy ones bc my skin feels so nice 😂

@cianni, love the pig theme! 🐷 I have that esfolio mask but haven’t used it yet. Thank you for your review - now I know what to expect.

As for the challenge themes, please join in with whatever mask you are using or wanting to use on a particular day. 😃 I look at the weekly themes as flexible guidelines - there are many times when we post about masks that doesn’t match the posted theme. It’s fine. We’re all interested in and love masks and would love to hear about what mask(s) you are using, whether or not it falls within the challenge theme. Besides, I think your masks do fall within fine of the themes - “A” - both masks are from “A”sian brands. Also, the esfolio mask contains aloe.

Tonight's Day 5 of @itsfi masking adventure was the Aloe but I had to trade it out for another mask that @itsfi gifted me! (I needed some balancing, I over hydrated last night)I 😍😍😍😍😍 this mask. it's the best of both worlds in my opinion. It has a pleasant smell not to strong but its there. Rinsing it off was so easy. My skin was smooth, soft & matte. My pores did look cleaned out too. I left it on for longer than i should (40 min)I was watching TV with the hubs. so I did have to pull it off of my nose. I will be purchasing more of these to have when I want a mud mask but I'm feeling lazy😜 A+ included a pic for those curious & for y'alls enjoyment!

Oh sounds like a great mask @sonnydee!  I too was like what... Over hydrated? That doesn't happen to me much. 😄

@sonnydee glad this mask was able to help balance out the over-hydration (something I need!) you experienced! I am all for lazy masking, love the clay sheet masks I recently picked up too (and the Milk stock, which may be even easier to use, ha!).

@sonnydee, yay, that's great news that the mud mask worked out for you. For me, I really like that mud sheet mask in the summer when I'm oilier; it does a pretty nice job as a primer before makeup too.

When I read the part in your post that "I over hydrated last night", I thought "over hydrated? Is that a thing?" LOL! 🙂 Since my skin is dehydrated-dry in the winter months, I don't think it could ever be over hydrated. Ha!
