Exfoliating combination skin

Hey guys! I have quite oily combination skin and i also have enlargened and clogged pores. I was wondering, which one of these would be best for my skin...

a) exfoliate my skin daily with gentle exfoliator

or b) use few times a week more efficient exfoliator?

Or can I do both?

If you have some good product recommendations, please let me know! 😊

RE: Exfoliating combination skin

Hi, I have combination skin too! As a soft exfoliator I’m using the Bio-peel gauze peeling in green tea two or three times a week. I’ve been using that for 5 months now and I feel like my skin looks more bright and my pores wayyyy smaller. As intensive exfoliator, I use Kate Somerville Exfolikate intensive exfoliating treatment. I started using it daily by mistake, but that was a miracle to me. Now I use it only once a week because I’m afraid it’s too harsh in the long run. Also, I find very helpful for pores Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Rescue Mask. I think it has seeds in it, so it has also a small scrub effect. It was suggested to me by a beauty advisor at Sephora, and it actually makes my skin smoother. I hope you’ll find something that works for your skin!

@Anonymous I would start conservatively and take it from there.  Depending on your skin needs, start with a low concentration AHA or BHA.  🙂

Re: Exfoliating combination skin

Daily exfoliation isn't good for any skin. The skin does have it's own cycle. Are you wanting chemical or physical?

Origins modern friction is physical, but becomes a bit creamy and rice particles.

Philosophy microdelivery wash, tiny particles, physcial

Both are gentle.

Chemical would be peels like Dr Gross, Ole Henriksen

or PTR pumpkin enzyme mask, which is a leave on, until washed off, exfoliant

spf is a must with chemical 🙂

Re: Exfoliating combination skin

For chemical exfoliates I love Ole Invigorating Night Gel, and Sunday Riley Good Genes.  I use one of these two every night. A lot of people also swear by the Drunk Elephant TLC Night (pink bottle top).

I also a couple times a week use Neogen Lemon bio-gauze peel pads which are a mix of chemical and physical exfoliation.

Please please please don't use anything with Walnut for a scrub on your face.  Walnut is too harsh, and sharp, and actually makes micro tears in your skin.  With those micro tears, bacteria can get into your skin and create more acne and skin problems than its worth.

Good Luck ❤️
