UPDATE: The new thread is up! If you are joining in, or just prefer to sit back and watch, join @lmaster at:
Spring MOTM box will be starting in mid-February. If you are interested in joining, please take a moment to complete the brief survey below prior to January 31st. ***If you have not participated in this or other BIC traveling boxes/unicorn mail, please PM me prior to completing the survey.*** We hope to see and share masks with some new faces!!!
Some pertinent info regarding the NEW double-box-in-progess set-up:
Thank you @itsfi for all of your help in setting up the framework for the MOtM, and your many helpful suggestions. The entire masking community here is grateful to you!
I'm pretty easy going with this @eshoe @lmaster . Whatever works best for everyone else. I don't have a ton of high end masks, maybe three or four, but again... What's considered high end? In my usual purchasing I consider 6$ and up higher end for one mask, but then I do have a few that run 20$ ish a mask. (Lets be real here people, I only buy those with a good discount!)
@missjeanie I need to know where you find a good discount on a great pricey mask!
@l8totheparty @Always watching for a sale lol! I only have a few over the 20$ mark. But I’ve been tempted into maybe a dozen or so over the 7$. But my favourites are still the under a dollars masks!!
We are considering high end anything over 7$ @missjeanie
Over $7! Hmm, indeed. I have at least one of those then. Here I fretted that they would be over $20 each (can't trade on those! Haha).
This will be exciting!
Oh okay... that's not so bad... I've got more of those ones @lmaster ! lol
We are going to put the luxe masks in their own pouch @missjeanie, that will also help avoid any uncertainty about a mask’s value:) @lmaster
Lux- over how much $ would that entail/mask to be considered lux? Curious! 😊
Also, is there an option to just participate in the one box- nourishing/glow option?? I don't want to make it difficult, but if there are 2 boxes anyways....?
I may not have any super lux masks. Besides that, just throwing this out there, if anyone receiving the pkg into/out of Canada/USA on a $$$ pkg of pricy masks (10x$20+ per mask for example) gets dinged for duty it would really suck. And to insure on a $$$ pkg for $50 and for it to go missing in transit would make me ill if I was the one (obviously the sender should have to cover and resend, but ouch$ you know?). Anyone have insite into this? Thoughts?
I respect any decisions made.
@l8totheparty @ShortErica @lmaster thank you for weighing in! It sounds like it might be better to do two envelopes, both identical in that they have close to the same ratio/blend of different types of masks.
That way no one feels pressured to contribute any one type of mask, and more people can be involved. So, to reiterate: two envelopes (not boxes), each with 20 masks including some of each type, so that both boxes have a similar selection/value.
@eshoe I think that's what I was thinking. Having a variety should get the most participation. 🤞 And as always posting should ensure like to like trades. Will 20 fit in an envelope?
Yes, I think a bubble wrap mailer will hold up to 40 if packed neatly @ShortErica!
Awesome @eshoe! I feel like lately I've used boxes and didn't remember how big the envelope was.
It has always been important to me to keep it to an envelope at max, @ShortErica. I want it to be accessible to anyone who wants to join, so if we work to keep shipping down, anyone who wants to, can @lmaster
I know what you mean. I dont have many or possibly any luxe masks @l8totheparty. And I didn't think about the duty in Canada.
@eshoe @lmaster so 20 masks in each box? We are moving out of the envelopes? Is signing up for both boxes or can you do one vs. the other? I guess I assumed it would be one theme with two boxes going opposite directions on the list of participants. Like l8totheparty said though, you're the bosses and I defer to you. 😊

@eshoe Thanks so much for the tag! I am trying to catch up on reading posts now - totally behind.
I appreciate the tag @eshoe! I've got a lot going on for the next couple of months, so I'm going to have to pass on this round, but may jump in on a future one. 🙂
