Yeah @missjeanie, I stopped when I read “horse fat” on the front of the package. 😳You’re awesome missjeanie! 👊🏼 I love that you are open to trying it out; I don’t know if I would again. 😂 With this one out of the way, no more horse masks in the house. The soybean placenta mask is a nice one and for me, the way to go in the placenta sheet mask world. 😆
lol @itsfi .... maybeeeeeeee i'd try it. I'd have to be either in the right mood, or not notice it as an ingredient. I'm impressed with how many gross masks were done this week by everyone. The soy placenta is the way to go for me too... so much more palatable!
I really liked that foil mask. Something about it makes my skin super happy. (I bet it’s that horse fat!) I didn’t even know it contained horse fat! 😅
Those eye steam masks are a staple for me
as well! I especially love the lavender ones! @itsfi
@heartsmyface, I didn’t know it contained horse fat at first; I was surprised when I read that. 🐴 I’ll pick up another one to use; I think I’ll just cut off the part above my upper lip and apply it separately so it doesn’t slide around so much. Aren’t those steam eye masks wonderful?!! The only scent I’m not really fond of is the rose one; all the other ones - lavender, yuzu, chamomile, the umscented one - love! ♥️ I keep a few of them on my nightstand. 😃
Yeah, some masks need a little hack job to get them to fit properly.
I’m not certain I’ve tried the rose ones. I was going to say I liked the lemon ones but I think they were actually yuzu. I’m now having self doubt. 😅 @itsfi Where do you get yours?
@heartsmyface, I get mine from a local Asian beauty store; but before I found the store, I’d order through Amazon or yesstyle dot com. If you have trouble finding them, let me know and I’m happy to send you some. The yuzu and lavender ones are the more heavily scented ones. Both are great! 👍🏼
Week 8 - Feb 18 - 24 - H - Gross Masks
So Friday morning I did the Skyn Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels with Hexapeptide Technology.
I put them in the refrigerator - yay remembering! - but took them upstairs to put on after my shower. I like hot showers so the eye gels weren't quite as cool by the time I put them on.
Wearing the eye gels
I think I did a better job with aligning them and my lines around the eyes look diminished. This may be a product I want to stock for special occasions. Friday was a girls' night so I did a little extra that morning.
Keeping with the H theme, on Saturday night I tried the We Bare Bears "Herb in the Nude Sheet Mask" Moisturizing Care given to me but the generous @eshoe.
Let's do some pros and cons.
Pros:
Cons
My face
Ingredient close up
It kinda pains me but my gut says C+ because the smell and tackiness just drove me a bit crazy. Though since this is a "it's me not you" I think maybe a B- is more appropriate. Some people may love this. I definitely questioned myself after reading @Shosh85's review of another mask from this brand. I wish I could overlook my two cons because the results really gave me a pleasant surprise.
So none of my masking is gross but the Bear one reminded me of a "gross" story.
Ha ha @ShortErica that’s a great reason not to care for bears in my opinion! It looked smooth on your skin, too bad it was so tacky😆
You spoiled me with the Mediheal @eshoe! I keep debating whether to order a 10 pack of the A: PE one (I remembered to use a space) or try a multi-pack. Plus I have so many from you and only so much space to store them. 😉
I haven’t had a bad Mediheal mask yet (grossness aside from the horse oil one) @ShortErica. I would be game for a multipack myself, just to try more!
@ShortErica @Those eye gel masks sound lovely ! I gotta buy some. Are there any other ones you like better?
These are actually the only eye gels I've tried @naturalooks15. I believe @eshoe sent me some patchology eye gels too that I need to give a go. I have no comparison to other eye gels but the Skyn ones have impressed me.
@ShortErica these are really nice and comfy too SEPHORA COLLECTION - Eye Mask
Too bad about the tackiness and scent @ShortErica. if you did inherit your dad’s dislike of bears, then “H” is for hereditary. 😆
Yay - more H theme connections @itsfi! Hahaha.
Too bad it had a strong scent. That is a turnoff especially when florals aren’t the active ingredients It really looks well fitted though and the packaging is cute! @ShortErica Ha your bearcstory is cute. I never thought of it in a gross way but I guess it really is isn’t it?😅
Too coincidentally my dad just posted about the Charmin bears on Facebook @heartsmyface - he is so anti bear!
I think your eye gels were perfectly placed @ShortErica I'm glad you liked them! As for the bear mask... your story made me chuckle... we can't like every mask!
@ShortErica I recently tried the hydrating care one, and that one didn't have a strong scent, but it was a little tacky. The tackiness didn't last long for me, but I've never been too bothered by tackiness in the first place, so that might be part of it. I do own this moisturizing care one though, and am really curious about how they both compare. I'm not too big into heavy scents, so thanks for the heads up on that!
Also the lingering tackiness stuck out to me @Shosh85. A little tacky is fine and usually moisturizer makes my face feel soft but this time it didn't do the trick. It was almost like it was more tacky after moisturizer.
