@Kim888 A facial steam before a sheet mask is a game changer for me because it really clears out your pores so the ingredients from your mask can really penetrate your skin. <333
I’m so intrigued by the Peace Out Dark Spots @Kim888! I, too, am trying to fade away some sun spots. 😔 The Dark Spots contain licorice extract which is good for lightening hyperpigmentation. Very interested in what you think of these Dark Spot dots.
Since yesterday’s attempt at a spa-like masking session was a fail (I'm thankful my skin escaped pretty much unscathed), I decided to go with what I know this morning and went with a bamboo theme.
Good call sticking with something you know today @itsfi ! Good heads up to really look at the ingredients on the Innisfree masks before deciding to purchase or not!
@missjeanie it’s easy for me to think that since I like a few masks in a line that I’ll like them all, or that the ingredients will be the same, so I just need to remind myself to look at ingredients. 😃 My skin doesn’t dry out all the time if there’s alcohol in a sheet mask but it’s good to know when it’s there so I can adjust my other skincare products to make sure my skin has extra hydration to counteract any ill effects the alcohol may cause.
Thats a good plan @itsfi . I tend to do the same and think "oh I like XYZ from their line, so I'll likely enjoy ABC as well." I don't really completely avoid anything all together, but I like you, like to be aware of what's in stuff so that I can keep it in mind when pairing or making sure I don't go overboard on something in particular.
Ahhhhh I am so glad you reviewed one of these Innisfree masks, @itsfi- I was very curious! I was looking at them (again, but didn't buy any) and noticed they are owned by AmorePacific so I'm not surprised it's an A mask! Bummer about the alcohol, see I wasn't even looking at the ingredients 😄 When will I ever learn!
The Eminence Mask sounds very nice, you seem to use it on a regular basis - do you think you would repurchase it at some point?
@eshoe, this Innisfree one does NOT have alcohol in it which is a big plus. 👍🏼 I think at some point I would repurchase a FS of the Eminence bamboo mask; when will just depend on how distracted I get by other masks the brand puts out! 😆
@itsfi the mint lippie is one I've not tried yet, sounds nice!
@lmaster, it’s a nice one. The minty cool feeling when I press my lips together is an added plus! 👍🏼
@itsfi Sounds like some good, solid masking! Which is just what you needed after the last masking fiasco! The Bamboo mask sounds lovely! I have the honey "My Real Squeeze Mask" and it does list alcohol as the 4th ingredient. I threw a bunch of my masks away that had alcohol in them, but this is one that made the cut! 🍯
Masking fiasco indeed @Shosh85! 😖 I’d like to think that I will not be sucked in by pretty packaging again but I can’t make that kind of promise! Hahaha! 😂🤣😂 Yep, after something like that, you gotta go with what you know! Bamboo products have been good to my skin. 😍
I was thinking about tossing some sheet masks with alcohol high up on the ingredients list. How did you decide which to keep and which to toss?
@itsfi It sorta just depends. Sometimes if I had several masks from the same line that all had alcohol, and I already tried a couple and didn't like them, I'll just toss the rest. Sometimes I look at the ingredients to see if there's other hydrating/moisturizing ingredients along with it that might be a good balance, I'll keep those. Also, if the alcohol is listed a lot farther down, then I don't feel so bad trying those out. 😉
looks like some great masking @itsfi ! Glad your skin didn't suffer too much after yesterday! the new fresh lippie looks so nice!
Me too, @Kim888! I have the slightest bit of redness on one side of my upper cheeks, but it’s not bright red and it’s easy enough to cover it up with some concealer. I’m glad I didn’t decide to wait out the stinging. 😬
Today was a snow day for me! Kinda fun, but kinda a bummer... had to snowplow, my front yard is now covered in about 8 feet of snow. Literally 8 feet. I did a nose strip from Dewy Tree before dinner. I usually really enjoy nose strips to see what kind of gunk can come out of my pores. Sadly nothing really came out. I think the BIore strips will always be my favourite here, but I'll use up the rest of the pack for sure.
I really didn't think I was going to find much in my stash with either an "I" or in the floral range. Floral scents aren't generally my thing so I tend not to gravitate to them as key ingredients. Well it turns out I've got a few things to bust out this week! The Mitomo mask in Camellia Flower Oil & Matcha Essence Mask was a delight. I detected a light floral scent that I really enjoyed, It was floral, but there was a bit of a fresh warmth to it as well. Maybe the Matcha? The mask itself was a good fit, had soaked up a good bit of serum, and still had quite a bit left in the packet. I ended up leaving this on for about 40 minutes. It was still quite damp when I took it off and my skin felt hydrated and smooth, maybe even a touch brighter. Any tackiness from the mask dissipated in about 10 -15 minutes. I keep picking up the packet again to smell it. Such a lovely scent, I wish I was better at describing fragrances or that BIC had scratch and sniff capabilities.
@missjeanie omg that's crazy!!! glad the mask worked out for you and I always think that as well - I'm terrible at describing scents!
@Kim888I'm hoping someone else has better luck describing the scent... I really enjoyed it and wouldn't mind knowing what it was that i liked lol!
I think yesterday was a snow day for the entire city here @lmaster ! Thankfully things are back up and running today. I'm pretty over the snow here too, I'm ready for us to move into Spring soon!
Yeah I stopped counting how many snow days the kids were out of school, I think I stopped at 9 😫 @missjeanie
