2025 Skincare Check-In Challenge: Week 2 - Share your favorite masks!

Happy New Year, BIC! ✨ We’re stepping into 2025 with a crucial reminder: we must take special care of ourselves — this year and EVERY year. Some of us may already have set resolutions and/or stellar routines nailed down; regardless of where you are on your self-care journey, we could all use a few extra nudges and motivation to spend some extra time on ourselves! 🤝

Much like posts from previous years, we’ve come up with a list of weekly prompts to challenge you to strut your self-care skills. 💗 This time around we’ll be focused on all things skincare, because when our skin feels good, we feel GEWD. 🌟 We encourage you to participate and respond to the prompts that inspire you – and don’t be shy to share any other self-care tips and tricks along the way!

Week 1 (1/8 – 1/14): Curating the perfect rise and glow ☀ skincare routine to kick off your day 

Week 2 (1/15 – 1/21): Relaxing in your favorite face/eye mask(s)

Week 3 (1/22 – 1/28): Trying out tools to promote wellness (rollers, high tech tools, DIY massage . . .)

Week 4 (1/29 – 2/4): Adding some extra indulgence to your body care (baths, butters, oils, scrubs etc.) 🛀

Week 5 (2/5 – 2/11): Washing your makeup brushes, towels, pillowcases, etc. — whatever touches your GORG face 😘

Week 6 (2/12 – 2/18): Stimulating your scalp with treatments/serums (yes, this is skincare too!)

Week 7 (2/19 – 2/25): Sharing your favorite jumbo or refillable skincare goodies to get the best bang for your buck 🤑

Week 8 (2/26 – 3/4): Giving your hands and feet some extra love (masks, creams, exfoliants, etc.)

Relaxing in your favourite face/eye masks 

I added a couple foot masks in the spirit of masking ☺️. I would also say that these are my current masks. I will put an 🌟 beside my favourites.

LANEIGE Bouncy & Firm Eye Brightening Sleeping Mask with Peony + Collagen Complex™ .7 oz / 20 g - I use this a few nights a week right now. This is a new product to me that I just opened. I received it at Sephoria. So far I have been liking it. It is a thick gel consistency.

Dr. Jart+ Cicapair™ Tiger Grass Sleepair Intensive Night Mask 2.53 oz / 75 ml 🌟(mine is 100 mL) - I have been loving this. I have been using this nightly all winter. It is also a gel consistency and absorbs nicely into my skin. 

innisfree Super Volcanic AHA Pore Clearing Clay Mask 3.38 oz / 100 ml (mine is in the darker container).🌟 - This has been gentle enough to use on my skin in the winter. Although I am ready to open a new mask, I would definitely repurchase this one!

Whish Exfoliating Foot Mask - I have been applying this in the colder months (when I remember) underneath socks a bedtime.

LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask Intense Hydration with Vitamin C Eggnog Latte 🌟 - I use this nightly. I like that it is clear and does not stain my silk pillow case.

Another favourite, but not pictured is the Sephora Caffinated Eye Patches🌟

I included the Baby Foot Exfoliating Foot Peel (that I picked up on a shopping trip with fellow BICer's during Sephoria). I haven't used it yet. I am going on a trip mid February. I am wondering when the best time is to use it. I am thinking this weekend?

@peculiarzmakeup Thanks! An egg nog latte is one of my favourite things of life. So naturally, I had to pick this one up. It is LE, so I am glad I did!

For combination skin, I have found the Zit Sticka Press Refresh mask to be so great! It is a cool, soothing jelly base on a skin sticking "graphene" material that tackles redness, acne, dryness, and discoloration all in one refreshing 20 minutes. I can only find it on the brand's website now, but is totally worth it - especially as an add on when getting their patches which are hands down best on the market.

@semac Thanks for sharing! I have not heard of this mask before. It sounds like a wonderful mask. Tacking acne and redness is something I need every once in a while!

Reading everyone's all stars and faves has been really enabling inspiring! You all know where the good masks are. 

I'm going to throw a few into the ring for consideration 😜 

The top of my list is: 

Clarins Cryo-Flash Instant Lift Effect & Glow Boosting Face Mask 2.5 oz / 75 g I've mentioned this ( and I've seen other folks give this a nod) in the Monthly Favorite's threads. It's a quality glow giving, tightening , just everything is better mask for me. ✨

I love that I can pick up these more affordable masks without my wallet crying. I love Sephora Collection for foot masks and Glow Recipes Jelly mask has been a happy new discovery. It's so refreshing on the skin. 💚🩷

Extra T.L.C

Layering this on top of my skincare in the evening leaves my eyes a little extra hydrated but for me, it's the scent that I find the most relaxing. Something about this floral peony scent just made this mask feel even nicer.

Like @jaaayp said in the monthly hauls thread, my purchases this week are also totally in line with this challenge. I grabbed Clarins V-Facial Instant Depuffing Face Mask 2.5 oz/ 74 mL during the 50% off flash sale. So that's going to be a fun new mask to try this week.
