Thank you @Aaliaa for starting this thread, and giving us a place to share our love for masks๐
I wish I could afford to buy these all the time. I used to use the serum day and night and it worked great. I switched to Benton Bee Snail as that part of my routine, which also is great. But this mask make me think oh right I really liked that.
โ
I've read good things about the serum.
@Weetart Yup, these masks are a little too pricey for me but both the mask and serum sound great! ๐
You've also reminded me I need to try more Benton products! I've loved the Benton masks I've tried but haven't had the pleasure of trying anything else ๐
Raiding boyfriends mask shelf. He likes masking as much as I do.
Good wash off. I was especially grimy today and this certainly helped. My normally awesome face wash routine didnโt seem to do the job and this helped do a deeper grime be gone. I can see why itโs good for those who look for extra pore help.
โ
My partner also uses this mask, @Weetart!! It's a winner!!
@Weetart, thatโs fabulous that you and your boyfriend have a shared love of masking! โฅ๏ธ I agree! This one has an extra oomph to it to get rid of extra grime. ๐๐ผ I like the Origins Clear Improvementโข Charcoal Honey Mask to Purify and Nourish 2.5 oz/ 75 mL version when my skin leans on the drier side.
@Weetart This one definitely seems good for getting more grime! Glad your boyfriend had it available for you ๐ ..... that's awesome that he likes to mask!
F is for Flower water
โ
@lmaster, the serum was bubbly? Like an oxygenating/detoxifying mask that foams up? Or it had bubbles in the serum?
@itsfi the serum was bubbly ๐
@lmaster Sounds like a nice mask, minus the adherence issues!
@Shosh85 yes! Dang it lol and it was a bit thicker than I prefer, still nice results
The results sound pretty nice, though those "airplane wings" can be annoying to deal with, @lmaster!
@quspork it's about time more masks use the flexible material, I love ones that conform so perfectly
Mask: | Broccoli | Spinach | Asparagus |
Material: | Cellulose - soft, thin | Cellulose | Lyocell - soft, thin but with a noticeable but not thick heft to it |
Adherence: | Good | Good | Good |
Fit: | Extra wide - 1-1/2"; length good; minor incisions to mouth and eye openings | Extra wide - 1-1/2"; length good; minor incisions to mouth and eye openings | Good - 1/2" too wide (at temples) and long (at chin); minor incisions to mouth and eye openings |
Serum: | Toner - light, watery liquid; mask is saturated (but not dripping) in it | Essence - clear, gel-like; feels like a cross between a serum and a thin ampoule | Emulsion - milky-watery liquid |
Scent: | Clean, fresh; nothing that resembled broccoli | Leafy, minty scent | Leans slightly tropical in scent, almost coconutty - odd for an asparagus mask |
Claim(s): | Moisturizing and refreshing | Moisturizing and vitality | Moisturizing and nourishing |
Results: | Feels cooling and refreshing against the skin. Skin is hydrated but it feels like there's a film even after skin has fully absorbed the serum. | Skin is moisturized without feeling heavy. Tackiness remains after a few hours. | Skin felt soft, smooth, soothed, and nourished; I briefly considered skipping my moisturizer. |
Best suited for: | All skin types, even those with very oily skin | Most skin types year-round; those with oily skin may like this one more in the colder months | Dry or dehydrated skin year-round; all others (except for very oily skin) in winter or cold weather |
Repurchase?: | Probably. Would happily use. | Yes, though not a must have. | Oh yeaaah! My skin loves milky serum based sheet masks and this was no exception. |
My husband was intrigued by the sous vide component of the mask - he loves his gadgets and really got into cooking when the whole 'molecular gastronomy' trend took off. He's not so sure about the vegetables - I think it's in general more than the particular masks. LOL.
@missy94612, I laughed at your husband not being sure about the actual veggies. ๐ Other than the illustration and ingredients list, thereโs nothing to the masks or their serums that would make you think that veggies were part of the composition. He may never know if you can keep him from seeing the front of the packet. ๐
He's not completely adverse to veggies, but those 3 that were the main ingredients in your sheet mask post were not his favorites. Ha! I should just take the mask out of the pouch and give it to him; he'll be none the wiser. Watch, it'll end up being a mask he loves. LOL.
@itsfi Great comparison! Not surprised the asparagus came out the the winner of the three- I was rooting for it after I read the serum type and scent! Definitely sounds like one I'd like to try! ๐
Yes, a victory for the asparagus sheet mask ๐ (but no love when it comes to an asparagus emoji. ๐) I know you appreciate that draw of an emulsion type serum @Shosh85! ๐ My skin just drinks it up! ๐ So interesting about the coconut scent though - not at all complaining, it's just very interesting. @quspork mentioned below โฌ๏ธ the ingredient that's most likely contributing to the scent on this one. I'll have to pull out the other emulsion sheet masks that I have from this line and see if it's in those other ones as well. I'm on board with a coconut scent.
What a great comparison, @itsfi! it sounds like the asparagus really worked out really well. A tropical scent on that one would have thrown me a bit too, but it sounds nice.
