Thank you @Aaliaa for starting this thread, and giving us a place to share our love for masks💗
No hiccups = always a decent masking , @ather ☺️
@eshoe the eggy packaging though!! I would probably buy it if I seen it out somewhere!
Yes, @lmaster, it’s hard to pass up an eggy mask!
@eshoe, oh, Quret came out with a new line of masks? The packaging is cute, but it sounds that the results are similar to the results from their other line of masks. Glad it hydrated your skin! 💦
Sigh, yes, @itsfi. They do perform about the same as the veggie ones. I do like that they are virtually scentless, though. I just ‘feel’ enough of a difference between masks to say one is far superior than another. They are all *fine* 😉
A late entry for Q week--
The Apieu Quinoa Skin Fit mask
Thank you to whomever put this one into the MoTM box. I pulled this one out since I've loved Apieu masks in the past, but hadn't tried this particular line (at least not that I remember) and haven't used too many quinoa-specific products either. The mask itself was a nice thin lyocell material which fit nicely and clung to my skin well overall (although there was a little bit of flappiness on the chin a couple of times). The scent was a mix of grassy and grain. It had an outdoor freshness about it that I didn't mind at all. After removal, there was some very slight tack, but my skin felt very smooth to the touch. I was left with my skin looking quite even and feeling nicely hydrated. It's a shame the line seems to be discontinued/sold out because I would certainly use it again.
And just to tack on even though it's not quite a challenge mask, the Goodal Mugwort Mild Sheet Mask:
This was a decent, just not super special mask. The thin cotton gave me a mostly decent fit. It was another with a "green" scent that reminded me of plants, but it was very slight overall. The serum was more gel like than I was expecting for a mask that says it's mugwort infused water. Overall, the results were fine. It was nicely hydrating and my skin was perhaps a little brighter. It would be a good filler mask, but didn't give me the results that I've gotten from other mugwort masks like the Etude House Artemisia Airy Fit mask.
@quspork that's a bummer they seem to be discontinued!!
It's always a shame to find a nice one and then bam- no longer available, @lmaster.
@quspork I feel that happens often with sheet masks
Sorry the mugwort mask didn’t meet your expectations @quspork. I’ll have to check out that ETude House mask.
The EH one really brightens and calms my redness so well, @itsfi. That line is really such a staple.
Oh @quspork I am happy to hear that Quinoa mask was good - I was eyeing it so was also very curious. Of course it is discontinued, how disappointing but not surprising!
Isn't that just the way it always is, @eshoe?!
Q for coenzymeQ10 (aka coQ10, ubiquinone and vitamin Q)
Q for CoQ10
Skincare benefits of CoQ10:
Sheet Masks:
I was not expecting anything spectacular from the ekel Coenzym Q10 Ultra Hydrating Essence Mask and, while I would hardly say it’s a game changer, it is a solid, better than average filler mask that if I can get over the scent, I might repurchase to see whether there may be noticeable results with more prolonged use.
The sheet is slightly thinner than medium thick and holds a lot of essence, that has a toned down but still noticeable faintly chemical and lemon Pledge scent that dissipates though perhaps not as quickly as most other sheet masks. It’s about an inch too wide on both sides of the mask. Openings for eyes and mouth are wide enough though I made small incisions to the lower inner corner just to ensure that none of the essence wandered into my tear ducts. This offers one of the better fits and adherence was good. I left the mask on for 30 minutes but there was enough essence that I could have left the mask on for an additional 15 or 20. The very faint bit of tack quickly and easily fades away, leaving my skin feeling hydrated, with a nice bounciness to it.
Hair Masks:
Lip Care:
Gisou Mini Honey Infused Hair Mask 2.5 oz/ 75 mL
@itsfi the VT mask sounds really nice!! Sorry the gisou hair mask was average for you, I still need to give it a go
@lmaster, the VT mask was wonderful! 💛🍯 I hope the Gisou hair mask works out for you. I have a mini of the Gisou oil and am hoping my hair will like it more than the mask. Have you used the hair oil?
@lmaster, that makes me happy hearing that! 😃 I found a mini set after Sephora announced it would be carrying the brand but before it launched online or in store - it’s honey based and I couldn’t help myself! 😉 But I am just now getting around to trying everything.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the hair masks, @itsfi. That Gisou was in and out of my basket, and you have helped me make a more informed final decision for now.
@eshoe, it didn’t work for me, but everyone’s hair is different. The results were fine enough; if there’s a foil sample or promo for it, that might be a good way to see if you get better results than I did. I was really hoping for a honey scent.
