June play box disappointing

Another beauty box that I’m not excited about. The foundation is way too light for me. The lip mask is a waste. I’ve received the Dr Lipp miracle balm a couple of times already. I really don’t need a mask specifically for my lips. Why not a face mask? Then I get another lip gloss and I don’t wear lip gloss. I feel like I’ve received the belif aqua Bomb several times as well. It really feels as though month after month I’m getting repeats of the same thing, random products like the lip mask and any makeup I get, besides the constant black mascara, is not a flattering color on me or is something I don’t use. My friend got the Allure beauty box and it had 7 high end products: 2 clarins products (body oil and facial exfoliate 3 REN products (hydro boost moisturizer, vitamin c glow gel, aha tonic) 2 origins products (retexturizing mask and a charcoal honey mask) It might be a tiny bit more per month but, I’d use all of these products. It seems that the Play box includes items samples or promotions that we used to be able to get with purchase. But now, the sample options are dismal and they often run out and send you other random stuff. The promos aren’t as exciting and the rewards options are ridiculous. There are a few 100 point items with 1 or 2 decent options. Then, the higher point rewards are sold out. The Dr Brandt reward has been sitting in the rewards section for months with a big, gray “SOLD OUT” button underneath it. I know I’ve gone off-track in regards to the Play box, but my point is, it seems that the Play Boxes are being filled with the items that would be rewards, promos or samples in the past. So, you buy this monthly membership which helps build up your reward points but then you can’t find any rewards you want. The Play box productsfeel like overstock items that would otherwise be samples or be sent on to TJ Maxx. So, you aren’t inspired to buy full size products The lack of decent samples, promos and rewards doesn’t entice you to purchase from Sephora either so you know next year you won’t reach The VIB status which limits your extra perks even more. I used to be VIB Rouge. I bought makeup and products only from Sephora I raved about Sephora any chance I could and loved all of the great samples, promos and rewards. Now, I mostly buy from Ulta because their rewards translate into actual $ discounts on purchases. They throw in free samples which aren’t super exciting but, getting $50 off my purchase makes up for that. I’ve basically only been spending money at Sephora through my Play subscription but, after months (or years) of being unhappy and seeing other unhappy customers buy not seeing any changes, I think I may have to just cut the cord and focus on monthly subscriptions that offer higher end, quality, targeted samples and buy products from stores that invest in having perks that are a value add vs Sephora that seems to be giving table scraps.
