Hello everyone (even all you non-Canadians!),

@Guessgal and myself were lucky enough to score invites to the Mario Dedivanovic and Philosophy skincare and makeup event in Toronto tomorrow. The class will focus on skincare prep and makeup application with (hopefully 🤞🏽) lots of tips and tricks along the way. We promise to take lots of pictures and notes to share the experience (in real time if possible). I'm not a KUWTK follower, but love learning about new techniques and trends from professionals, so super exited that this is my first experience at a Sephora event!

I'm hoping there will be time for some questions, and was wondering if there is anything any of you would like to ask him? Preferably no Kim questions, but let me know and I'll try to ask him!!

@darkiceis Ooo I didn't know he did classes at GenBeauty! Very cool and nice of him to complete the look perfectly even if overtime. That's what I noticed when I went to this event yesterday too! He's quite a perfectionist and will check the monitors from time to time to make sure it reflects the makeup well. Goes to show he really cares about his work!

@Guessgal It was the first time they started doing “classes” at the events.

It such a treat to watch him work, it’s mesmerizing to watch. Glad you got to experience it. 🙂

Hey everyone! Just wanted to post on here super quickly before bed. Will elaborate more in the morning, but overall really glad I got the opportunity to go. The class was a bit rushed as Mario came in late as @Aaliaa mentioned, but I did learn a few handy tricks.

Eyes

One of which is that smoky eyes look “more sultry” when using an eyeliner pencil and smudging it out rather than using eyeshadow. Mario’s favourite is the Urban Decay 24/7 liner. I was a bit surprised how fast he glammed her eyes with this method (he only used about 3 similar shadows blended together (base) plus another 2 blended together (transition) in addition to the eyeliner).Starting eyeliner application with UD 24/7 liner

Hey everyone! We are back and had lots of fun at the event. We both took pictures and notes and I'll share my experience with everyone tomorrow (I'm too sleep atm to write coherent thoughts!). It was a really small event with only about 50 invitees so we really got to see him spin his magic up close. It was also really nice to meet someone from BIC in real life, thanks for being a fun companion @Guessgal! We got a gift bag filled with a really cute makeup case and some philosophy goodies on our way out.

@Aaliaa Vaseline! Not how Mario used it, but my mum used to SWEAR by a thin layer of vaseline on her face at night before bed and it freaking WORKED. She has the best skin and people always think she's 10-15 years younger than her age.

I've heard this too @MissPuff! Everything I've learned and read makes me think this shouldn't work but it just does for some people. Maybe I'll try it on the tops of my cheeks where I'm dryer.

@Aaliaa I remember doing it when I was younger, in the winter specifically (I live in the northeast, dry, cold winters) but I don't think it would play nicely now with my skin, I'm freaking out a little just imagining the breakouts!

I can’t wait for this event. I set an extra alarm an hour early this morning thinking I should probably put some effort into an outfit and wear makeup, well I set it for 7PM NOT AM! So incase anyone’s at Yorkdale, I’m the girl eating chinese food in the Food court while applying makeup. This is going to be interesting. Maybe I can be the ‘before’ model!?!
