Seek out Canadian brands.

I can also highly recommend BOREAL FOLK APOTHECARY from BC.  Awesome skin care made sustainably with ingredients from the boreal forest including Fireweed and Balsam Fir.  Another is the Indigenous brand Skwalwen Botanicals.

 I just saw that Cover Fx, Lise Watier, Ilia, Consonant and The 7 Virtues are also Canadian.
