Got an email about early access to a new sale over at Beyond Polish, 40% off select items. 40% is a really nice deal for them, so I expected a tiny selection, nothing interesting, but turns out it's a pretty nice mix of stuff (ugh, dangit), over 1600 items. And also reminded that I had some serious nail hauls this time of year the last couple of years. 😂🤣😂 I had Orly Clover and Over in my cart and this was the nudge that made it happen ... along with "a few" other things that happened to be in my cart at the time. I think my wallet would be happier if they dried up for a bit, and I'd love to be able to catch up on some of my backlog again. I'm also fully aware that the deal is everything to me, and I sometimes buy way more than necessary because the thrill of a sale gets me going. I've stopped doing it with makeup thankfully (haven't worn any in ages, why bother), but at least with polish, it'll keep for near eternity, and I will use it eventually. A break would be nice though!

Meanwhile, I'm debating browsing for a second cart to try some more brands...I picked up mostly Zoya because deals can be slim and they had quite a few that were already on my want list, but now I'm thinking I should have branched out some more. Sigh.

Confession - I did branch out a lot this year; that was my rationale for picking up new brands. "You really need to diversify your portfolio, Fi!" "Don't put all your chickens polishes in one basket brand, itsfi !!!" 😂🤣😂 Of all the times I listen to my own advice. Hahahaha! Project: Get Thru The Backlog begins today! 👍 Hopefully I'll be done before 2023. 🤞

@RGbrown  I've been struggling too since getting that email. 🤦‍♀️ This is a good time to finally try some Loud Lacquer polishes. 

Remember to check cashback programs! Example: Rakuten's at 2.5% back today. 

Also: if you shop through Beyond Polish's app, shipping's free at $45. So if 3rd party cashback's less than Beyond's shipping fee and you don't plan to spend $75+, consider going through the app. 

EDIT, Oct. 16: BP told me the "free shipping at $45 via app" offer does indeed require a separate promo code. BP doesn't allow code stacking. Never mind that their own page about their app shipping offer mentions neither a promo code requirement nor the no-stacking rule (though the 40% offer does, as does the cart page)... 🙄 Anyway, thought I should update my post with that info. 40% off will most likely be a bigger discount for folks than free shipping, and their app's obnoxious to use anyway.

I can't believe it took this long to dawn on me to check this, but look at SleekNail too, if the $75 free shipping isn't feasible. They are running the same sale...it seems to be BP rebranded, with some prices that are a bit higher (not the indies that are full price anyways, but the wholesale prices aren't quite as low on things like MT and OPI), but they offer free ship, no minimum, all the time, no code needed.

@RGbrown  Yeah, Sleek Nail and Beyond Polish are the same company or have the same parent. Paypal reveals BP's email address with SN's domain name. I always forget about SN. 😄

I am way too lazy to go check, but is shipping free automatically at $45 through the app now? If it's code based (has been in the past, but it's been a while since I checked it), it won't work with another code.

@RGbrown  I'd never tried their app before today (I generally hate shopping via mobile apps; I'm weird that way). Their site claims the app gives free shipping over $45 and they don't mention a promo code needed for that. But after replicating my site cart* in the app, I'm still getting a shipping charge in the app. So yeah, I'm not pulling the trigger via app or site until Beyond Polish tells me what's up with their app not honoring the free shipping claim. 

*After logging into the app, my site cart didn't port over to the app. That's one of a few reasons I don't like to shop via apps: web-to-app functionality's not always seamless.

BP's app is soooooooooo frustrating like that...I can't believe the app and site don't talk to each other and share carts. Drives me nuts! I only open the app when I know I want to place an order and it's going to be around $45. Any other time, their app is a pain.

APPSHIP45 is the code for free shipping in the app, IIRC. It's always active, but...no good with other sales 😕

You're not weird in your distaste for apps, at least not to me. I have Ulta's, which I admittedly use all the freaking time (but never for ordering, only for browsing), and I use BP in very limited cases, but other than that, I don't have any other apps for retail shopping...I'd just as soon shop via browser, whether from my phone or desktop.
