Due to some technical glitches with the original Show Me Your Nails Thread, I am starting a new thread with @vegchililover78's blessing (She says "hello," by the way!).
Please share your nail looks, nail art and manicures!
...And don't forget to check out @Beadshopgirl's Nail Stamping Thread for stamping inspiration! ❤️

I'm going to go in a slightly different direction with advice and point you to the advice this thread https://community.sephora.com/t5/Nailed-It/Nail-and-Hand-Care/td-p/6516938
I found strengtheners made my nails too brittle, where they cracked and peeled and broke all the freaking time, and when I finally gave those up and dedicated my life to the almighty jojoba oil (😅), my nails changed pretty dramatically. I also started wearing dish gloves and avoiding water when possible and being more careful about my nails in general, it wasn't just the one step that gave me some more length, but I do feel like it was the most important one, as dried out nails stand very little chance of ever getting long.
Tapering the sides of my nails a la @jaaayp's advice has been helpful too...I love a good sharp square shape, but even with all my jojoba oil and attention, I was still losing corners more often than I liked, but now that I'm filing the sides inward a little, that's been much less likely to happen. I started doing that back in the fall or winter just as an experiment, and have been pleased enough with the results to keep it up for good!
@RGbrown Thank you so much. I will definitely check out the Jojoba oil. It is neat that an oil can be so powerful!
@Mellmars1185 I totally get it! It's been a while since I used regular polish but I definitely remember that being an issue when I used regular polish. With gel, i use a rubber base or builder gel that creates an almost acrylic base thats easily removable.
When I used regular polish, I would use:
1. Nail hardener/strengthener. OPI has the Nail Envy and Sally's has hard as nails. They do help underneath the nail polishes if you're like me and have polish on 24/7. I think Amazon has some really good options like ---
2. When your nails do get longer, you want to file the sides so it's not growing as a blunt straight line from the side but more at an angle. You can still keep your shape squared if you like but I find straight lined sides of the nail prone to breakage. The app won't let me upload a picture as a secondary reply... I'll show you what I mean from a different reply 😂😂😂
@jaaayp Thank you so much. I currently use a base coat by Essie. I will look for a Hardening base 💅
Ahhhhhh so gorgeous! 🧡❤️ Such a classic shade!
So beautiful @Mellmars1185!!❤️ I love a good red polish! (is there any bad red???🤔) The second picture you posted below gets more of the orange shade. So pretty!!!
@Saradestin Thank you! I love all reds! I was wearing a denim shirt today and this polish went really well with it 😊
I love this color, @Mellmars1185 ! ❤❤❤ This would make a great lipstick color! 😁💋💄
Thanks for the additional pic, @Mellmars1185 ! I love a good orange-red whether it's nail polish or lipstick! 💋💄

I changes manicure but not for long, because after seeing the gorgeous mani @itsfi created, now I need the urge to use red, white and blue! 😅 Well, we will see!
This one is Sassy Sauce Hexcellent, a beautiful thermal polish but with a very subtle color change. It goes from blue to pink to eggplant but all subtle. The blue flakes add a gorgeous touch. Very pretty!

It is really beautiful @ather! I am loving it a lot!
@Saradestin That is a really cool polish! It seems like it shifts A LOT. Super fun! And you’re right about the topper. It adds a nice touch.
Thank you so much @JoSometimes ! I may have not explained myself very well (as usual 😅), sorry for that; the blue flakes are part of the formula, not a topper. They are very bright and give the mani the sparkle that I love!
