Transitioning MTF but still closeted, need advice ๐Ÿ˜Š

Hello everyone my name is Brooke. I'm not sure if I should have posted in this group but desperately seeking advice. I'm still living a double life after 30+ years, I had a bunch of expired makeup I bought off Amazon years ago never got really good with it didn't even know makeup expired..lol currently living in the Phoenix Arizona Mesa area and would love to go into one of the stores in person and get what I need for my skin type.. so many shades, colors, brands..etc I'm completely lost.

Problem is is I'm terrified going in as my male self and asking for help. Any suggestions, advice? I've been looking at reviews online for all of the stores around here hoping to find somebody that left a review that help them with a similar issue like mine but after hours no luck so I'm here seeking help.

Thank you so much in advance, Brooke ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€โšง๏ธ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿฅฐ

@Brooke1973 , You have as much a right as any other person to walk in, be treated kindly and with respect, ask questions and if you want to and the store offers it to schedule a makeover service. If it would put you at ease you could schedule with a makeup artist and have a private appointment in their studio. This of course will be more expensive . Makeup, skincare, fragrance is all gender neutral based on personal preferences. You do you!

Hey @Brooke1973! I saw that you posted a similar question in another section. I posted my reply there. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Hi, @Brooke1973 !  This is not my area of expertise.  I suggest you call a store to schedule a personal consultation.  During your call ask to be scheduled with someone whose expertise is MTF or ask if the store has a male associate (the one near me does and I live in a large small market).  If they don't have someone or hem and haw and you get the feeling they might stick you with just anyone, then call another store.  Since you live in a large metro area, I think you'll find a store with someone who is appropriate for you.  When you schedule your appointment, ask that your appointment be in an out-of-the-way spot or do so when you arrive.  It's your appointment; don't worry about what that person thinks.  Go in with a smile on your face and that's what will be remembered! ๐Ÿ™‚
