Mario vs UD shimmers

-If you haven't tried or swatched either formula, Mario's is much thinner in texture (almost like a finely-milled face powder)

and some shades are pretty trasluscent. I wouldn't say that you need a primer but it help them adhere a little better (here they are on dry skin after a few other swatches and they wouldn't stick as well). The UD has more substance and opacity. Only two of the UD shades in this quad are super sparkly, the other two still have some sparkle but not the diamond-like effect of the other two.

So pretty on you @makeitup305 . I just added the Mario from the sale. I know it’s more sheer but I kind of like how it appears to be able to be built up. Or at least I hope so! The UD is very fun for you!

@Sunnysmom I used it today. I liked the look but wasn't too wowed. Cool toned looks don't look as flattering on me so I have to give it a few more tries before I decide on keeping it. Let me know what you think when you try it!

@curlychiquita Space Cowboy Rides again is a true winner if you like sparkle. I haven't done a full look with it yet, though. The two shades on the right are not as sparkly as I would like but I want to see how the ones on the left look layerd over them to see if it makes the quad worth it.

Thanks for the Mario swatches and your thoughts, @makeitup305 !  I was considering this palette, but it wasn't really doing anything for me.  Your swatches and thoughts have helped me make up my mind that this one isn't for me.

@Titian06 I don't think it's a must. I just wore it for the first time today and it's nice but not "wow". I'm going to do a few more looks and then decide if I'm keeping it. I have the first one already and it's the same formula but since those colors suit me better I was more forgiving. I haven't decided on this one yet.

@PrettyPaint @curlychiquita @sister13 Here are indoor and outdoor swatches of the HUDA BEAUTY Icy Nude Eyeshadow Palette #. I wore it for a full day today with Diamond Dew all over the lid and the Nars eyeshadow primer underneath. The look turned out really pretty but I did have to be careful when applying the shimmer so there would be minimal fallout

How Iced Out, VVS, and Diamond Dew (index to ring finger) pick up on a finger

L to R- Iced Out, VVS, Diamond Dew, Platinum, Aurora, Gold Standard

How Blitz picks up on a finger- it doesn't have much of a binder and is very loose

Bling over Nyx Glitter glue. Don't even try to use this without a sticky base.

 The mattes are very nice. They’re smooth and blendable. The shimmers have a few different formulas. Iced out, VVS, and Diamond Dew are a the most sparkly and they’re a thicker, chunkier formula- similar to some indie shadows I’ve used. They’re pigmented but need to be smoothed out on the lid a little bit. Aurora and Platinum are your standard creamy, full coverage metallics. Gold Standard is more powdery and not as reflective. I’m not sure if it’s just on me (these peachy golds don’t seem to flatter me), but it looks kind of dull when I put it on my eyes. That one is a dud for me but may not be for others. I hate Bling (the glitter). I don’t know how you would be able to use this without getting it all over. Unlike some other pressed glitters I’ve tried, this one does not seem to have any binding agent in it so it’s just loose sparkles pressed tightly in a pan.

Thanks, @makeitup305! That’s great to know. I can definitely see using glitter glue for some of the shades.

@curlychiquita once applied, the thicker shades didn't have much fallout during the day, when I used a regular primer. I haven't used the glitter yet but that one needs something extra sticky for sure.
