alright, here it is. use this thread to request swatches. the guidelines are up to you and your needs: single swatches, comparison swatches, specific skin tone swatches
when comparisons are requested, feel free to provide whatever you have of that request--i want anyone to participate and contribute if they want to. have fun, hope this is helpful !
@JazaChai yup, Dahlia is on the right.
Out of curiosity -what sort of brush do you use for Cola Pop? I get next to no pigmentation unless I use something sort of scratchy. But the raspberry pink thing is weird - I guess that's where undertones come into play.
The fingertip shot was taken after I swatched, so I think Dahlia is going to look like a redder version of blushed copper once it's blended out. I can try it later.
@Mochapj Wow uh, with mine I have to be super careful not to overdo it because it is extremely pigmented. I use the Sephora Angled Blush Brush.
Maybe there's a manufacturing difference with yours? Temptalia (not that she's authoritative, but it's another data point) had the same thing as me, with super pigmentation and sheering out to a brghter pink.
@JazaChai it's interesting - I have wondered if there was a manufacturing issue.
I have 8 or 9 of them at this point. The first 4 I bought when the line initially launched all had the same issue. No matter how hard I tried to pick up product with a brush, it was barely there.
Someone else on BT suggested the Sephora 45.5 mini brush and since then I haven't had a problem. I think perhaps because they press it so hard to maintain the flower shape my softer brushes couldn't scratch the surface enough.
With Cola, it sheers out to a sort of brick-ish brown on me, but I have a ton of yellow undertone.
@Mochapj - I also own Cola Pop, and I have to be really careful about excess pigmentation when I use it even if I just use a stipple brush. For the other cheek pops I own, I use my elf Angled Blush Brush for a good wash of color, but for this one I use my elf Small Stipple Brush because otherwise I would literally look like a clown 😧 I bought all of mine last December, if that helps.
@Mochapj I will try it again tonight and see. I looked back at Temptalia's swatch and it's not as pink as I remember, but I was definitely disappointed that it wasn't true to pan on me at all.
Re: hardness, it might just be that they changed the pressing after a certain point. Both of mine (Cola and Nude) were bought at the same time relatively recently, and I've never had a problem with them. I've also never tried to use something like a fan brush though. The Angled Blush one isn't what I'd call scratchy but it is fairly dense.
For @TKLJ!

oh @TKLJ sorry i forgot ! i have an oxblood swatch too. in my head i thought the closest thing i had to it was NARS vip red, which in the daylight doesn't look that close (vip red has more brown, whereas oxblood has a more desaturated / grey quality). they're similar in that they're not quite as vibrant as, say, a typical audacious lipstick (i also have nars charlotte here next to oxblood--which as you can see looks very bright).
also, this is the lip velvet version, not sure how the color compares in the other burberry lip formulas ?
i think if you were to put this lipstick next to, say, a pair of oxblood doc boots, they'd be a spot on match !
from l to r, it's NARS vip red, BURBERRY oxblood (lip velvet) and NARS audacious charlotte. i actually think putting it in between these 'similar' shades has not done it justice as this makes it seem almost like a mauvey purple, which it isn't. planning on posting a pic of me in it in the WAYWT thread....
Thanks, Jem!
Ohhh I love how sheer Oxblood is. I'm terrified of opaque reds and burgundies, but that looks so nice.
How red was your arm after this? It has to be stained lol
Nothing a little Clinique TTDO couldn't handle! I'm convinced there's makeup-removing fairy dust in that stuff.
Oxblood would be SO pretty on you. I will happily enable you.
Is it that good? Maybe I should invest in some... Ya know since I need more stuff... 🙂
Yes, it's that good! I use the balm, and it takes EVERYTHING off in one go. It's my HG for sure.
Oh, wow, Oxblood is not as dark as I expected at all. Thank you so much for swatching these! I'm going to be a Responsible Person ( 😞 ) and not purchase it, so thanks for saving me time and money on returns.
Yeah, it's surprising because it's really dark in the tube, but applies fairly sheer. Glad I could help!
Anybody have any of the following Colourpop shades:
Eyeshadow - Acorn (relative to anything comparable)
Liquid Lipsticks - Clueless and Dopey
I have Clueless but not Dopey. I can swatch it to similar things when I get home if you want.
How do you like Clueless? Temptalia was pretty harsh on it and scared me away this time around. Thinking/hoping Dopey looks like a satin version of the same shade.
It's definitely not one of the best ones in the range. I like the color but it's one of CP's more drying ones. It looks even from far way but up close not so much. I think Dopey is a better bet. I will probably pick it up on my next CP order.
I love Acorn, let me think about what might be comparable.
I can't believe how different it is compared to the picture on Colourpop. Colourpop makes it look basically off-white. Redonk.
Shot in the dark but if you have the TF Boudoir Eyes palette, I'm curious how it compares to Birthday Suit.
Top is Acorn, bottom is Birthday Suit.
Near window.
relatively dark corner lol
