Hey everyone! 👋🏽. Ever had a beauty self-actualizing moment? (No? Just me...ok...) I wanted to know...conveniently before sale time... What are those products that come through for you when someone goes away?? They can be a new love, HG or replen.
For me this morning it was DIOR Rouge Dior Contour No-Transfer Lip Liner Pencil in Wild Brown. Any "concealer lip" situation, she can fix! And Ceremonia Hair Oil Mist con Aloe Vera 2 oz / 60 mL is in my cart, that is a must for me any time I need a little moisture or shine for my tresses.
Other come throughs:
DIOR La Mousse OFF/ON Foaming Face Cleanser 5 oz / 150 mLbecause it's a cleaner and makeup remover. It can also foam up and it doesn't dry out my skin.
Danessa Myricks Beauty Linework Paintbrush Fluid Liquid Eyeliner 0.034 oz / 1 mlA must for my eyeshape and I love a brush tip liner
Danessa Myricks Beauty Yummy Skin Blurring Balm Powder Flushed - Matte Color for Cheek & Lip Creme BrueleeThis is a recent love, it's a lip color, a blush, a bronzer
Maison Margiela 'REPLICA' Jazz Club Eau de Toilette with Tobacco Leaf, Pink Pepper, and Rum(this pairs with a few scents, I feel like it's the rum + pepper combo that does it, because it can go with earthy, floral, gourmand and not be too much. It's also my "patchouli fixer")
Give me 6! (That's the game, but we can be creative) Of these products. Definitely ❌ Post to threads like 🥇🏆🥈🥉🏅 THE HOLY GRAIL THREAD , Sephora Savings Event 2025 Shopping Advice Thread: What’s in Your Basket? Monthly Favorites: March 2025 Edition!
@danielledanielle There is just air and a little pebble up in my brain, you always making me think 😵
@Samtian love this list! Yes to Summer Fridays lip balm and Kayali Yum Pistachio Gelato! (btw I finally tried Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm Treatment for Hydration + Nourishing Shine Birthday Cake and I love it!)
See, now you complain about thinking and then you put together a fab list @Samtian , you're such a wild card, I swear
Oh man, I do love Tatcha The Rice Polish Foaming Enzyme Powder Gentle , it lasts forever, but it's a splurge, might need a backup to my backup, then I'm set for life 🤣
@danielledanielle 😄 thank you! It does last forever.
Oh man I don't know. Idk if I have any true holy grails or go to products at the moment that are "fixers". My skincare routine at the moment is perfect for before makeup so I rarely have issues with my base. It's not even the products themselves (since I switch them out for different ones when they run out) but the types of products that I've been using. My morning routine is mostly Korean products right now:
1. A hydrating toner or toner pad
2. A hydrating, brightening serum
3. A gel cream moisturizer
4. A hydrating sunscreen
(can you tell I live in the desert?)
For makeup, the products that come to mind right away as good enough to recommend to almost anyone are
DIOR Forever Glow Star Filter Multi-Use Complexion Enhancing Booster
DIOR Forever Glow Maximizer Longwear Liquid Highlighter
Dior really hit it out of the park with these for me.
My honorable mention is the Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare DermInfusions Plump, Fill + Repair Kit . It was an unexpected hit. Upon application it does make my lips look more full without super intense tingling or burning and it's hydrating as well.
@makeitup305 I love that you have your skincare routine figured out and tailored to the environment where you live, that's awesome! I have seen multiple folks here on BIC raving about those Dior highlighting products, but somehow they never made it onto my radar properly. Just added them both to my loves list!
@caitbird they sell them at Ulta, too. Both are awesome.
@makeitup305, this is a solid list. I will forever fangirl DIOR Forever Glow Star Filter Multi-Use Complexion Enhancing Booster , so that's a HG and a fixer.
@danielledanielle It's such an amazing formula. I want them to release liquid bronzers/contours with this formula.
@danielledanielle this is such a great prompt! Hmm, I had to think about this (aka narrow it down to only 6 😂) for a minute, but here's what I came up with for my current ride-or-die Sephora Six:
Ceremonia Guava Hydrating Leave-In Conditioner
I got a bottle of this from a beauty box I tried, and let me tell you, it's magical! 😍 I’ve finally found my HG leave-in conditioner. I don’t need to use very much, even for my very long, tangle-prone hair, and when I use it I have *way* less breakage when combing my hair than I’ve ever had before. Plus, it has such a nice, light fruity scent, not overpowering at all. I have at least one other leave-in in my stash to try, but unless it really knocks my socks off, I'll definitely be repurchasing the Ceremonia!
Glossier Glossier You Eau de Parfum 1.7 oz / 50 mL eau de parfum spray
My favorite anytime, anywhere, any mood scent. I have lots of other fragrances I love, but this is probably the one I reach for most often. I got the full size from Glossier as a blind buy back before the travel size was available, but thankfully I ended up absolutely loving it! A lot of "skin scents" I've tried end up smelling like nothing on me, but this one really works for me.
Living Proof Perfect hair Day (PhD) Dry Shampoo
Absolutely a holy grail for me. This is one of my most consistently used products, and it saves me from greasy hair (I have a bit of an oily scalp) between wash days allll the time. I can't live without this!
Glossier Boy Brow Volumizing Eyebrow Gel-Pomade Auburn
The easiest, most foolproof brow product in my arsenal. If I want a bit more definition I’ll pair it with ABH Brow Wiz, but for lighter/no-makeup makeup days, this is enough to tame and define my brows. Also, the shade (auburn) actually matches my natural brow color really well, which as a redhead can be hard to find.
Glossier Futuredew Facial Oil-Serum Hybrid 1 oz / 30 mL
Part of my everyday makeup routine. I switch up other products a lot, but this one gets used pretty consistently, whether I'm doing a very light makeup look or a more "full face." I like to mix a pump of Futuredew in with my base product, then add a little extra swiped atop my cheekbones for an additional dewy shine. It gives a lovely glow and dewy look so easily!
Hourglass Veil™ Translucent Setting Powder - Talc Free Translucent
On the other hand, as someone with combination skin, I sometimes struggle (especially in the summer months) with looking a little *too* shiny where I don’t want to (aka, the dreaded T-zone). This setting powder is great for combatting that unwanted shine, plus locking my makeup in place for the day (though I generally pair it with a setting spray as well). I had a bit of a learning curve with this product, which was the first setting powder I’d tried, but really have grown to appreciate it.
These are really in no particular order, but I love all of them and they've definitely all come through for me in a pinch! I have other products I'd consider holy grails, but for this list I focused on ones that are available from Sephora.
AH, YES @caitbird Living Proof Perfect hair Day (PhD) Dry Shampoo 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 FR, forever and always, literally. Have you tried the Advanced version?
@jaaayp right? It's truly the 🐐! I have tried the Advanced version (in fact it's what I'm using now, since there was a good deal on it last holiday season), and I do like that one too, but I think I like the original slightly more for some reason. Idk, I think my hair just likes it a bit better 😅
YES the holidays only gave us the advanced version on sale.. why @caitbird whyyy! I think its good but the original is best forsure.. I think the advanced one is powdery-er? So a lot more headshaking to do LOL
@caitbird, Oooh yes that ceremonia is a goodie! And three glossier faves? That's high praise. Thanks for thinking and sharing.
@danielledanielle I didn't really think about it, but I guess this is kind of a Glossier-heavy list, haha. It's funny, I feel like they are more known for their skincare, but I haven't really liked any of their skincare products I've tried (well, the hyaluronic acid serum is fine, but there are other good ones that are less expensive, so). But I do really like a lot of their makeup, as well as their fragrances.
Bumping this because I'm nosy curious
@caitbird, @itsfi , @Samtian , @faeriegirl , @PDXXXX , @jaaayp , @PrettyPaint , @CookieGirl1 , @Shosh85 , @AMK721 , @makeitup305 , @haleyvvvv , @Sunnysmom @sister13 , @Buootiful
@danielledanielle thanks for the tag! BIC has been really wonky for me lately. Couldn't post or even give hearts - so weird. I'll have to give this some thought 🤔
@AMK721, it seems to sour (Board log in) especially during a sale time, which is so annoying and counterintuitive. Looking forward to your six + successful logging in!
