Seeing product empties is so satisfying 🙂
Post your weekly, monthly, quarterly, whenever-ly empties and let us know how you felt about them!
Previous Empties thread:
@CookieGirl1 Nicely done! I've got that COSRx product in my skincare drawer, I need to pull it out soon.
@CookieGirl1 wow you made it through so much stuff, great job and like you said great way to start the year!
A month or two of empties and declutters.
Empties
I liked these but idk if enough to repurchase.
I really liked all the K-beauty and would repurchase. The Mediheal, Curel, Tocobo, and RoundLab I've used up more than once. The black dropper is the CosRX 0.5 Retinol which was good but not a love. The Naturium was unfortunately expired once I went to try it. It's been sitting in my skincare backups for a while, so that's on me. I wish US products had an expiration date on the box/product like Korean stuff does.
Declutters
The blushes were dried out, I hated this shade of the Milani liquid lip although I loved the other two shades they came out with in this sparkly formula. The Rom&nd brow was good for a softer brow but I prefer something with more hold. The eyeliner fell out but it's a great formula for the price. I hate the smell of the Espoir lippie but love the color, which is a shame. The L'Oreal was super expired (although it didn't smell like it, it actually had 2022 as the expiry date, oops). It's a really good product and I would repurchase.
I said goodby to my Viseart shadows. These were super old (I depotted them manually since they were from the non-magnetic packaging) and I just didn't reach for them.
@makeitup305 So sad the eyeshadow was expired! I wish they lasted longer! Great job.
@ather I don't think the shadow was expired, I didn't really have any issues with it. However, it's probably about 10 years old regardless. These came in the old acrylic packaging that wasn't magnetic, which is the original packaging they had way back when. I depotted them to try and use them more but didn't really.
@makeitup305 Amazing work. Was it hard to say goodbye to the Viseart? I find it really hard to declutter large items.
@Mellmars1185 I've been holding on to them for so long, it was time. I just decluttered the other palettes I had. I never consistently used them tbh, which hurts considering the price tag. While the formula was very good, I go for palettes where the shimmers or sparkles stand out and these just didn't have that. All that said, I bought them when they first became popular on YouTube and were sold at Muse Beauty Pro so it's probably been like a decade at this point lol
@CookieGirl1 It's a good alternative to a simple hyaluronic acid serum imo. I would buy it over a HA serum, which I usually feel like don't do anything. I do think my skin is softer and it's been well hydrated while using it, but it's not something I would buy for the anti-aging properties. It would be perfect for someone in their early 20's or even someone just getting into skincare. I haven't tried anything else from the line yet, either, but I have one of their toners in my skincare drawer waiting to be used.
@makeitup305 decluttering is always a good idea plus it makes way for new products!
@CorgiMommy I'm actually trying to find the time (and the will, lol) to declutter my whole collection, especially my face and eye products. It's a little daunting.
December 2024 Empties
Month-to-Date = 21 (includes December Foils)
Year-to-Date = 425 products
If we are including decluttered (non emptied) products (111), that's 536 products out the door. The majority of those declutters were of products that didn't work for me in the Capsule Makeup Collection Challenge 2024, with some the result of Beauty Product Battles, Throw Downs and Showdowns
👍 Ere Perez Almond Oil Mascara - Mauve is good, but not great. The formula is drier than I prefer and that's saying a lot as I usually prefer a drier formlation when it comes to mascara.
😘 Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream with TFC8® Face Moisturizer is an excellent moisturizer for my dry, dehydrated and sensitive skin, especially in the winter months.
😘 Sonia Kashuk Makeup Blender Sponge is one of my top 3 makeup sponges. A repeated repurchases.
👍 I was pleasantly surprised by how long the Air Wick Vibrant Scented Oil Air Freshener Sweet Vanilla & Shea Butter lasted - almost 11 months!
🐐 Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micellar Water Makeup Remover is a staple in my skincare. Depending on how often I use it as a pre-cleanse cleanser, I go through one of these bottles every 2-3 months.
😘 OLEHENRIKSEN Banana Bright Mineral Lotion Sunscreen SPF 30 1.7 oz / 50 ml is and has been in my top 5 sunblocks for several years now. Love that it brightens, blurs and blocks UVA & UVB rays. Can double as a primer.
🐐 Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin™ Skin Barrier Moisturizing Cream is a forever favorite. As my skin has become more dry over the years, this beauty has been reached for with more frequency.
🐐 Rhode Peptide Glazing Fluid has become a staple in my skincare routine.
These were all from the 2024 pan it! challenge.
👍 U Beauty The Super Tinted Hydrator is best suited for those with very, very, veeeery dry skin who want to GLOW.
👍 shu uemura Essence Absolue Nourishing Protective Hair Oil is lovely; it would be a repurchase if I didn't have hair oils I love more.
👍 It took over 2 years to fully pan the Westman Atelier Lip Suede Lipstick Palette Les Nudes. I think this is the first lip palette I've ever fully finished. Over time, it became a product I enjoyed using more and more.
Candle season is one of my most favorite times of the year.
👍 The Jo Loves Christmas Trees was my favorite of the Jo Loves candles from the holiday set - it smells like a Christmas tree lot. 🎄
🙊 Maybe my preferences have changed or my nose picks up scents differently, but I don't remember the notes from the Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir Candle being so intensely smokey. It was too much for me at first, but near the end, the fruit notes came forward and that blend of fruit and smokey was more pleasant to my nose.
👍 Sweet Water Hello Fall Candle started off with some potent spice notes but as the candle had time to burn, the cinnamon and apple notes were more prominent and blended beautifully with the cinnamon and other spices.
😕 I confused the NEST New York Blue Cypress & Snow Candle 8.1 oz/ 230 g with another from the Nest collection. This one was just okay; the pine scent had too much of chemical bent for my liking.
👍 #Dr. Jart+ Cryo Rubber™ Face Mask with Hyaluronic Acid 0.14 oz / 4 g (gratis) [not sure why the tag isn't sticking] - I enjoyed this 2-piece, 2-step mask. Having the serum separate from the sheet reduced wasted serum and made it easier to use the excess serum on another day.
❤️ VOLUSPA Sparkling Cuvee Glass Jar Candle 18 oz / 510 g has a great brightness and sparkle to it. Part of the VOLUSPA 12 Day Candle Advent Calendar
👍 RANAVAT Regenerative Veda⁴ Bond Repair Shampoo - Mighty Majesty 8 oz / 236 mL was good, not great. It's fine but there are other similar products I prefer.
🌟 RANAVAT Regenerative Veda⁴ Bond Repair Conditioner- Mighty Majesty 8 oz / 236 mL does a great job of detangling and making my hair soft and smooth.
Emoji Key:
Products with a love or above rating are generally ones I would repurchase (or have already repurchased), unless I have a GOAT product in that category that is better suited for my skin under certain circumstances or conditions. Items with that I consider "great" 🌟 or that I "like" 👍 may or may not be repurchased, depending on what is currently in my collection.
🐐= GOAT = Greatest Of All Time (have gone through at least two of the particular product and other comparable items)
😘= Chef’s Kiss = Outstanding - think of this as GOAT status in the making 😉
❤️= Love
🌟= Great, better than a like but not quite a love
👍= Like
😕= Okay; “It’s fine.”; “meh”
🔬= Undecided = “Still looking into it”
🙊= Not for me, my preferences or skin type
🙅🏻♀️ = ❌ = “No, non, nein, nyet, …”
@itsfi Wow great job!! You got through so much. And so many 🐐. Your routine must be very consistent! That lip palette you finished looks so pretty. And wowza on all the candles. You’re right it is candle season!!! Great job. You are my inspiration!
@itsfi Impressive! Glad you got enjoy so many products this month.
@itsfi I'm so impressed and so proud of you for actually finishing the Westman Atelier Lip Suede Lipstick Palette !!! Like, wow, you're my hero 😁.
@CookieGirl1, I'm surprised I finished it - even if it took quite a while - it's done, and lots of lessons learned along the way. There's been so many fabulous empties from everyone on this thread, yourself included; it's wonderful to find motivation to keep at it here and on other threads, like the Pan It! - 2025 Challenge and Foil Challenge - good to have those resources for accountability and encouragement.
