Re: Empties - V2

Thanks for sharing @makeitup305! I think I have a favourite mascara but I’ve heard good things about the one from T28. I wanna give it a try at some point.

Re: Empties - V2

@JoSometimes Which one's your favorite? I rarely spring for an expensive mascara, the drugstore has so many good ones. This one was part of a Sephora Favorites set a while back so maybe it'll pop up again.

Re: Empties - V2

@makeitup305 Thank you for sharing your thoughts on everything! It is good to know you loved the Olaplex 6. I have an open bottle. How did you use it?

Re: Empties - V2

@Mellmars1185 I've used it as a leave-in conditioner with a couple of drops of oil as well as a styling cream. I don't really style my hair much so I'm mostly looking for moisture and preventing my hair from feeling dry and looking frizzy.  I put a little in my hands and emulsify it before raking it through from the mids to ends of my hair and then prayer hands. I would say start with a smaller amount and then use more if you feel like you need it.

Re: Empties - V2

@makeitup305 Thanks for the tips. I think why I stopped using it was because I was possibly using too much and then blow drying my hair. Since I have thin hair with an oily scalp I didn't want anything weighing down my hair. I will try this method next time I let my hair air dry.

Re: Empties - V2

@makeitup305 Great set of empties and declutters. 🙂 Thank you for sharing! Gosh I love The Pearl, which reminds me I've been really slacking on getting mine out the door. I have an unopened one that I've been almost scared to open up because I know that's it once it's gone, but it's definitely getting up there in age. Going to crack it open ASAP.

Re: Empties - V2

@QueenMarceline I just opened my last backup and it was a sad moment. Thankfully it hadn’t turned since it’s been in my collection for a good bit now.

Re: Empties - V2

@makeitup305 Oooh, yes thank goodness. Mine is also still holding up, I gave it a look-over after I posted my comment. You guys are also inspiring me to do a makeup declutter (in the midst of a full apartment declutter because I'm moving in a few months and need to make my life easier) and I really am trying to rotate some things in as I remember them, to avoid it slipping my mind later on. I already started a little my little makeup "purgatory" as well 🙂

Re: Empties - V2

@QueenMarceline That great! Good luck! Reformulate “declutter” as “curating”and it’s a little easier, too.

Re: Empties - V2

@makeitup305 Hahah yes! Thank you! ❤️ You've honestly been such an amazing help

Re: Empties - V2

@QueenMarceline You're welcome! 🤗

Re: Empties - V2

Amazing empties @makeitup305 I know it's from a few months but this is an impressive stash! Great job using and cleaning out your products!

Sorry too hear how quickly CT dried up on you. Is there no way to reactivate them? Total bummer!

Re: Empties - V2

thanks @CynthieLu ! I think you can use Duraline to help revive them bu they’re just so messy to even open that I just tossed them. I think I heard that they were reformulated to improve this issue but I’m not 100% sure. These were LE colors unfortunately.

Re: Empties - V2

@makeitup305 I got a little misty eyed seeing that Tatcha. I had just discovered how amazing it was...once it all sold out for good. Great job!

Re: Empties - V2

Thanks @Samtian. I still haven’t found a good replacement for it, I’m going to be sad when it’s done.

Re: Empties - V2

@makeitup305 I'm kinda glad to see I'm not the only one who finds the Fenty Lip glosses just okay.  I need to break into my sample of the T28 Mascara as well.  Where do you pick up the Davines hair care?  I've heard a few people mention loving it lately.

Re: Empties - V2

@missjeanie I don't get the hype of the Fenty tbh. I was really attracted to the LE shade they released for the holidays, which was very pretty but when I swatched it in store I remembered why I never use mine. The smell and the consistency just don't do it for me.

I got the Davines from a 3rd party seller off of Target. A little sketch but they had good prices and the products seem legit. Every once in a while I've also seen them at Costco online. I really like this one. If you have curlier or dryer hair, you might like the Love line but the purple one, which is richer.

Re: Empties - V2

@makeitup305 I love a gloss so when the OG gloss bombs came out I bought one, but wasn't in love with it.  I tried the cream when those came out since I tend to prefer no sparkles... still a 'meh' for me.

I'll keep an eye out at Costco for the Davines... my hair is... complex lol, super dry ends, but super oily roots.  I need to do some research.

Re: Empties - V2

@missjeanie what kind of water do you have? My water is super hard (even with a softener) and on @GG84 's recommendation I used a chelating treatment and installed a Sprite shower head and I noticed a difference in the texture and dryness of my hair.

Re: Empties - V2

@makeitup305 Its been a while, but I remember checking when I moved in here a few years ago and the water is actually really good.  The rate for my city is pretty good (I just looked that up again now) but I may have it tested anyway.  Can't hurt!

Re: Empties - V2

@missjeanie if you want to try a chelating treatment, I used the Ion one (they sell the little packets at Sallys and they're super cheap). I also got a plastic cap and an application bottle. I put it on, put on the cap, and then used a hair dryer on it for 30 min. From what I understand, unlike clarifying shampoos, chelating shampoos remove mineral buildup in your hair instead of just product buildup.
