Re: Empties - V2

Excellent work @heartsmyface! Taking notes on your sheet mask and skincare empties! Before BIC, I never would have thought I'd be so interested in seeing what's in other people's trash. Hahaha! 😉

Re: Empties - V2

Awesome job, @heartsmyface! I've heard super good things about the Biore sunscreen-- is it one that you would recommend or repurchase?

Re: Empties - V2

@CookieGirl1   Oh yes!!  I love it and try to always have a backup on hand.  It’s my default face sunscreen though right now I have a lot of other good brands to get through before November, lol.

Re: Empties - V2

@heartsmyface What kind of finish does it have?  Is there another sunscreen that you find the texture comparable to?

Re: Empties - V2

@heartsmyface wow! impressive, haha! I'm feeling inspired by your decluttering pic...might have to go through my stuff to see what I can toss!

Re: Empties - V2

@averylayne Thé liner declutter just helped me rationalize that I needed a couple of the new Fenty liners.
I’ve been trying to declutter a few things out of a single drawer each month instead of letting it all get out of hand again.  It’s much less intimidating than looking at the collection as a whole.

I can’t wait to see what you find to clear out!

Re: Empties - V2

@heartsmyface good thinking! maybe I'll start small too and just clean out my makeup bag!

February 2020 Empties !

Spoiler
  • Kenra Volumizing Shampoo (300 ml) : Left my hair full of volume and looking beautiful after every use ! Also, it didn’t make my hair greasy and it smelled super good. No buildup after using this product, which is a plus ! Definitely recommend using it with the matching conditioner for optimal results. * I would repurchase it in the future, when I am done with other shampoos.
  • The Crème Shop Peppermint Oil Face Mask : This is one of my favorite sheet masks to use, especially in the summer or when my skin is oily ! It also helps with calming and breakouts. The peppermint is soothing and helps with oil control, while still being hydrating. The mask has a nice consistency and fits my face well. * I will buy it again and again, whenever I can find these at Marshall’s.
  • Modelco Karl Lagerfeld + Modelco Kiss Me Karl Lip Balm : What a pleasant surprise ! I bought this for fun during a trip to Paris and mostly because of the cute packaging. However, I found that this lip balm was super moisturizing and perfect to use right before applying lipstick. It absorbed quickly and did not mess with the lipstick’s application. * I would repurchase if I can find it again.
  • Chloé L’Eau Eau de Toilette Natural Spray (Sample - 1.2 ml) : Lovely ! It is a fresh rose smell, good for daily use and great to wear at work too. It isn’t offensive to the nose. I was sad to finish that sample ! As for the longevity, it is comparable to other good eau de toilettes. * I would probably get a full size of this fragrance in the future.
  • Holika Holika Green Tea Pure Essence Mask Sheet : I find green tea sheet masks wonderful to use when my skin feels oily, and needs to be balanced. Definitely helps with oil control, and also feels moisturizing at the same time. This line’s masks are a great fit for my face and I also enjoy the way the packaging is designed to open. * Will repurchase in the future !
  • Farmacy Brightening Coconut Gel Sheet Mask : A very nice discovery from my Ipsy bag ! The gel consistency really did stick to my face, and the mask was a great fit as well. It didn’t leave my face feeling sticky after using it, but the light serum was still very hydrating. The morning after using it, I definitely noticed that my skin was brighter and looked really great. * I will repurchase again in the future, when I want some gel masks.

Spoiler
  • Garnier Skin Active Micellar Water (400 ml) : It did a pretty good job for the price it costs. However, compared to other micellar waters I’ve tried, it doesn’t remove makeup as effectively. Also left somewhat of a sticky residue to my face, but I believe it is geared more towards dry skin. * I will stick to my Bioderma Sebium micellar water in the future, but I would use this again if I had to.
  • Clinique Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator (DS – 7ml) : Felt very great on my combo skin, as it wasn’t greasy and the gel formula absorbed quickly into my skin. I  definitely don’t think it was hydrating enough for this time of the year, but I feel like it would be perfect for spring and summer time. * I would like to try it again, during summer time. It’s hard to tell from a small sample if I would repurchase or not.
  • Marc Jacobs Honey Eau de Parfum Spray (50 ml / 1.7 fl. oz.) : This was a very lovely light smell, perfect on a daily basis and suitable for work. It was light and floral, with a hint of sweetness. It wasn’t overwhelming, but I also found that it didn’t last very long on my skin nor my clothes. I have some Eau de Toilette sprays that last longer than this. * I believe this was discontinued, so I wouldn’t repurchase it. I enjoyed it while it lasted, but now I want to focus on what I really love, and clear out some other fragrances from my stash as well.
  • Personnelle Eucalyptus & Mint Epsom Salts : Epsom salts are a must for me when it comes to bath time and relaxing. This helped with sore muscles and swollen joints, and it had a subtle soothing smell. Great price as well ! * I would repurchase. I usually just buy whatever Epsom salts are available at the store I am in, since they all do the job imo.
  • First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads (10 Pads) : I do enjoy that format, as it very useful when traveling and to carry over with you. These pads are gentle enough for daily use, and they do leave the skin clean. It did not irritate me and it did its job. They did get a bit drier towards the end though. * I would use these wipes again in the future if I scored other samples of it, but my favorite ones still remain the Cosrx ones. They are cheaper and do as good of a job !

Re: Empties - V2

That Farmacy mask was one of my first masking loves @emiie .  Glad you loved it too!

Re: Empties - V2

Those Farmacy gel masks are so great, and fit so well, @emiie!! I pick up a duo everytime they're in an IPSY add-on, lol.

Re: Empties - V2

That Karl Lagerfeld lip balm is so cute @emiie! So is the Marc Jacobs perfume bottle! 💕 Lots of great empties here!

Re: Empties - V2

That MJ bottle is so cute, I’ve never seen that before, @emiie. Good to know also about the Kenra, I like a few of their products and they last forever!

Also good to know about the Garnier. I’ve been curious but haven’t tried it (also a Bioderma fan). Sounds like a resounding ‘meh’😄

Re: Empties - V2

Kenra is a nice brand! @emiie

Re: Empties - V2

It was my first time trying their products, and I definitely love that line @lmaster  !! 😍Luckily it's become more available here in Canada

Re: Empties - V2

Oh that's great! @emiie their styling products are great as well

Re: Empties - V2

My January 2020 empties ! Last year, I kind of lost track of my progress in the middle of the year for health reasons, so this year I am trying to do better and finish more products than ever ! Overall, I am happy with this first month of the year. I may not have finished as many products as I intended to, but most of these were "loves". It shows me that I am getting better and better at picking what works for me ! 🙂

Spoiler
  • Cosrx Acne Pimple Master Patch : These are my holy grail pimple patches and a staple product in my skincare routine. It helps heal blemishes faster, and it also keeps it from getting more inflamed. After one use, the pimples are definitely more flat, because the patches absorb most of the gunk in it. * I will keep repurchasing, again and again.
  • A’Pieu Coffee Milk Firming One-Pack Sheet Mask : This mask was very hydrating and had a lovely smell, just like iced coffee. I enjoy the thickness of the mask, it stayed on my face comfortably. It did feel firming, but it would take many uses to feel the real effects of it. * Would repurchase it.
  • Clarins Toning Lotion with Iris (400 ml) : An excellent alcohol-free toner that came in a value size. It helped to refresh my skin and left it feeling clean, but not dry. It is ideal for combination skin, as it keeps it balanced. This is probably my 5th bottle of it that I used up. * I would repurchase again, but I have many other toners to use up first.
  • Lush Santa Workshop Bath Bomb : This bomb turned my bath’s water into a beautiful mix of green and blue, and the smell was very festive. It also had tiny gold glitters, which weren’t hard to clean afterwards though. This is very strongly scented, which I did enjoyed. I stayed in my bath a long time and the smell didn’t fade away. * I will repurchase if this is available again next Christmas.
  • Farmacy Hydrating Coconut Gel Sheet Mask : Really happy that I picked this mask for my Ipsy Glam Bag add-ons ! The price was great (US$3 for two masks !) and the mask was lovely. It was very hydrating for a gel mask, and it did stick to my face. Particularly great to use in the morning or before an event, as you don’t have to wait for serum to absorb into your face. * I might repurchase it during a sale, as it is more expensive for a single mask than I would usually pay (CA$8).
  • Kenra Volumizing Conditioner (300 ml) : The texture is quite light, but it worked great on my hair type. It was very moisturizing and helped with tangles. My hair was super soft after using it, and it didn’t felt weighed down. The conditioner works wonderfully in combination with the shampoo. * I would repurchase it.
  • L’Occitane Milk Extra-Gentle Soap with Shea Butter (50g) : Very nice soap that does not dry down my skin. It smells lovely and natural, and it was very hydrating. It did not worsen my KP. * I would repurchase this smell again. I have other soaps from L’Occitane to use up now.
  • Dr. Teal’s Relax & Relief Eucalyptus & Spearmint Foaming Bath : Helped to sooth my sore muscles and was very relaxing. I enjoy this smell and it made my bathroom smell so good afterwards. I like the fact that it is cheap and easy to find in store. * Already repurchased.
  • The Face Shop The Solution Soothing Face Mask : I love using this mask when my skin feels inflamed and when I have blemish(es). It helps sooth the skin and is also hydrating at the same time. The consistency of the mask is great, and there is a great amount of serum in the packaging. * Will repurchase again.
  • Laneige Lavender Water Sleeping Mask : This sleeping mask is amazing ! I loved the lavender scent, it worked as effectively as the original scent. My skin felt very smooth and radiant after every use. I wake up and my face looks plumped and more healthy. The gel texture is also perfect for my combination skin, all year long. The mask is very hydrating. * Started a new tube and will keep repurchasing.

Spoiler
  • Skin79 Aloe Fresh Garden Mask : Felt hydrating overall and it had a lot of serum in the packaging as well. It felt a bit sticky, but it might be because my skin wasn’t too dry at that time. * I might repurchase if I see it again at Marshall’s in the future. It’s not widely available, so I won’t seek for it so much. I still have some of these masks in my stash.
  • JM Solution Rose Glow Luminous Flower Firming Mask : This mask was very hydrating and had a lot of serum coming along with it. The mask also had a nice thick consistency. However, the scent was a bit strong and I didn’t really see much of a firming effect. * I might repurchase on a future trip to Miniso. I think I have one (or more) of these still in my mask stash.
  • L’Occitane Aromachologie Intensive Repair Shampoo (500 ml) : Really did enjoy the smell of this product (very spa like), and how it left my hair clean and feeling fresh. I started using it in summer and it worked well. However, after a while, it stopped working for my hair, which is a bummer. Not sure if it was because of season change or something else. I enjoy the fact that refills can be bought, so it’s less packaging thrown away. * I still have a refill for this product, so I will use that and see if it can work again for my hair. Might repurchase, depending on the results.
  • Belif The True Cream – Aqua Bomb : I enjoyed the texture of the gel, since I have combination skin. A little does go a long way with this product - However, I found that it wasn’t as effective as other similar products, for example the Laneige gel. It works better for summer time. * I would use it again if I had a sample of it, but probably won’t repurchase a full size.

IMG_1773.JPG

Spoiler
  • A’Pieu White Milk Hydrating One-Pack Sheet Mask : If it was just for its results, this mask would be in the « loves » category, and if it was just for the scent of it, it would be a big « Nope ». This mask left my skin super hydrated and radiant after using it. However, I couldn’t get over the scent - it was almost like sour milk. It also lingered on the skin long after use, making me nauseous. * I would not repurchase, but I have another one to use.

Re: Empties - V2

@emiietackiness in masks is kind of a downer for me too, though many put it to good use in the AM for makeup prep. In case you need to use up the rest of those masks😉

Re: Empties - V2

@eshoe That's actually a great idea ! I usually mask at night, but I will try this trick with masks I don't really enjoy haha 🙂
