2018 Beauty Top 10

Happy New Year, Y'all!   I cannot believe 2018 is coming to a close tonight! 

I wanted to share my Top 10 Beauty Products of 2018 and I hope you'll share yours, too!

O.k.... I know it's more than 10, but I have a few ties. 😉 These may not all have been released in 2018, but they were new to me this year.

1. Best Eyeshadow Palette:  Natasha Denona Gold Palette and Pat McGrath Mothership V Bronze Seduction - I seriously could not choose between these and I love both of these brands and women so much! 

2. Best Highlighter:  ABH x Amrezy.  Hands down.  Best. Highlighter. Ever.

3.  Best Lipstick:  This one was a 3 way tie for me - ABH Liquid Lipstick in Dolce (I love pretty much all my ABH Lippies), Gourmande Girls Liquid Lipstick in Desire (My fave indie brand) and Sephora Lip Stories in All Washed Up (for sentimental reasons because it reminds me of the fun we had at Sephoria) - My all time fave lipsticks are PMG Matte Trance, and I got several this year,  but I totally forgot to include them in my list (whoops)

4.  Best Lip Savior:  Sara Happ Lip Slip - I cannot tell you how much I love this stuff!

5.  Best Perfume:  It's a tie between Gucci Flora Gorgeous Gardenia (this is my all time fave perfume ever - I have had people follow me down 3 escalators to ask what I'm wearing, stop me in the hall at work and on the street, ask to sniff me in the bathroom at a restaurant [true story!!!!]) and Killian Princess (a new fave I discovered at Sephoria)

6.  Best Body Shimmer:  Fenty Fairy Bomb Shimmer Powder in any shade - you can wear this all over and the sparkle is so real!

7.  Best Hair Product:  Olaplex 3 - OMG!  This has really helped me on the journey to making my hair healthy again!

8.  Most Beautiful Product:  This is a tie between Dolce & Gabbana Blush Rosa Duchessa in Provocative 40 and Rodin Luxury Illuminating Powder in Siren - These are perhaps the most beautiful pieces of art I have in my makeup collection!

9.  Cutest Product:  Sephora x Museum of Ice Cream Sprinkle Brush Set - I mean, just look at it! ❤️

10.  Best Skin Care:  Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask - Smells lovely, looks lovely and does wonders for my skin

@lmaster I just dab the RMS highlighter on with my fingers. I love the natural, glowy effect that it gives.

I totally agree about the Matte Trance Lipsticks - AMAZING! 

And I am dying to try Cloud Paint - Do you have a Glossier Store in your city?  The only one I've ever seen is in Manhattan, and I didn't have time to go in and browse. 😞

@Tamara76 , @txcatx Here here on the photos! There's just something about your composition that's so perfectly balanced and inviting. 

I love the cloud paints too! Though my favorite color haze stains like crazy so even though the other colors are dreamily easy to apply with fingers, I always have to use a brush with haze so I don't have magenta colored fingers for the rest of the day!

@Tamara76 Thanks! And I think Glossier might only have a store in New York, but I'm not positive. My parents live in the city, so I visit frequently, but I've never had time to stop into the Glossier store despite walking by a few times! It's on my to-do list for sure. Cloud Paint is definitely one of my favorite blushes, though--and it's my favorite product from the brand (out of the five or so products I've tried).

@txcatx I also discovered the Dr. Jart+ Cicapair™ Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment SPF 30 . It has been life changing for my routine:)

I had a hard time with this because I didn't try nearly as many new things as I had in previous years! 

1. Olaplex 3- which I forgot to add in my picture so technically 11, sorry not sorry!

2. T3 whirl trio- I never thought I could have beautiful curls that hold for 3 days. Love this and it works so quick.

3. Nail light- my erratic schedule didn't always allow for a manicure, and there's nowhere near me that does gel exceptionally well either.

4. Moon Juice super you- balances my overactive stress hormones, yay.

5. DE baby facial- I never tried this because what I had worked well for me, but wow! I get it now!

6. Jack Black lip balm- perfectly hydrating without being sticky.

7. Viseart theory palettes- after the less than stellar performance of the PP palettes, I waited quite a while before committing to a theory. Again, why did I wait so long? 

8. Dry conditioner- Who knew I could have day 1 silky ends while I'm pushing the limits on day 3 and 4. 

9. ABH brow wiz- I had used ABH dip brow up until early this year. This is a much more natural look for me because I have a lot to fill. The downside is a jar of dip brow lasts forever and I need to buy one of these a month, but love the results.

10. ND blush and glow- OMG the blush is my soft, natural complement color but builds up perfect for glam. 

11. Sephora boar brush- My naturally wavy/curly hair isn't exactly brush friendly, so I was skeptical about any hairbrush really.. I can't believe the magic of boar, now I'm lusting after a maison pearson, uh oh!

Do you recommend that specific nail light?  I really want to get one so I can do gel manis at home, but I'm not sure where to start.

It’s worked great for me @Tamara76! It’s not the fanciest option, but I didn’t want to make a huge investment until I knew what I was doing. The only time I’ve had issues with drying is if I’ve applied too much polish, never a light issue. Some of the polish formulas are better/easier to work with than others. If you make the jump I’d be glad to make some recommendations. I just did mine tonight.

@Mcakes Sorry for the delay!! I buff the top layer of the nail with a gritty file to allow the remover to get in, and use the gelish soak off remover. It's hard to get the cotton pad and foil on yourself but as long as I can get it on it works great (they sell claw clips that supposedly hold them in place cheap on amazon too). The gelish mini basics set came with a scraping tool too which usually takes anything left over right off. I usually have to enlist my fiance to scrape my right hand for me LOL.

Top favs I used in 2018:

Norvina and Fetish are the two palettes can't stop using! 

Peach foundation is my fav for 2 years now. I like that it's not full coverage. 

Benefit brow pencil in 4.5 has replaced my MAC pencil.

KVD Brow Struck Dimension powder in dark brown...in luv.

Sol de Janeiro Brazilian kiss lip butter is rescuing my chapped lips.

Glow Recipe Watermelon moisturizer is lovely and on my 3rd.

Jo Malone  English Pear & Freesia cologne...smells like you bloomed a garden of flowers and lasts all day!

Ciate highlighter in Solstice...flecks of purple, this is so gorgeous!

And Fenty Fairy Bomb in 24Kray....one of my fav shimmers...bought at Sephoria...will always have a special place on mah face!
