2018 Beauty Top 10

Happy New Year, Y'all!   I cannot believe 2018 is coming to a close tonight! 

I wanted to share my Top 10 Beauty Products of 2018 and I hope you'll share yours, too!

O.k.... I know it's more than 10, but I have a few ties. 😉 These may not all have been released in 2018, but they were new to me this year.

1. Best Eyeshadow Palette:  Natasha Denona Gold Palette and Pat McGrath Mothership V Bronze Seduction - I seriously could not choose between these and I love both of these brands and women so much! 

2. Best Highlighter:  ABH x Amrezy.  Hands down.  Best. Highlighter. Ever.

3.  Best Lipstick:  This one was a 3 way tie for me - ABH Liquid Lipstick in Dolce (I love pretty much all my ABH Lippies), Gourmande Girls Liquid Lipstick in Desire (My fave indie brand) and Sephora Lip Stories in All Washed Up (for sentimental reasons because it reminds me of the fun we had at Sephoria) - My all time fave lipsticks are PMG Matte Trance, and I got several this year,  but I totally forgot to include them in my list (whoops)

4.  Best Lip Savior:  Sara Happ Lip Slip - I cannot tell you how much I love this stuff!

5.  Best Perfume:  It's a tie between Gucci Flora Gorgeous Gardenia (this is my all time fave perfume ever - I have had people follow me down 3 escalators to ask what I'm wearing, stop me in the hall at work and on the street, ask to sniff me in the bathroom at a restaurant [true story!!!!]) and Killian Princess (a new fave I discovered at Sephoria)

6.  Best Body Shimmer:  Fenty Fairy Bomb Shimmer Powder in any shade - you can wear this all over and the sparkle is so real!

7.  Best Hair Product:  Olaplex 3 - OMG!  This has really helped me on the journey to making my hair healthy again!

8.  Most Beautiful Product:  This is a tie between Dolce & Gabbana Blush Rosa Duchessa in Provocative 40 and Rodin Luxury Illuminating Powder in Siren - These are perhaps the most beautiful pieces of art I have in my makeup collection!

9.  Cutest Product:  Sephora x Museum of Ice Cream Sprinkle Brush Set - I mean, just look at it! ❤️

10.  Best Skin Care:  Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask - Smells lovely, looks lovely and does wonders for my skin

Oh you're right @alexasteph! I didn't realize it wasn't available at Sephora. I guess I'll have to go through Beautylish...even though I am salty at not getting a lucky bag this year lol

@Mcakes, check out Becca direct. I got all 4 of passport collections with their 20-25% discount. They are really pretty

@Mcakes It’s a Nordstrom in a set with a gloss and another product... I think it’s a primer, and also available at Becca direct. I don’t think it’s at QVC anymore.

@danielledanielle Yeah I had the kitten on my lap and my adult cat came over to start licking his head. I needed to document it. They’re still cuddling. I love them.

It was really hard to have just 10, but it forced me to really think, otherwise this could have easily been a top 15 or 20.

1. E.L.F. sponge - I've tried the original Beauty Blender, but I honestly like this one better because it's so spongy.  I particularly love it for applying highlighter.
2. BKR gloss.  I raved about it elsewhere.  It's my best base!
3. Fenty Eye Primer.  Palettes I fall in and out of love with.  I really love this primer for its tackiness.
4. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder.  As someone with textured/combo skin, this really does a great job in smoothing it out and giving me an inner glow I thought I could never achieve with makeup.
5. KVD Superbrow.  I know makeup at the gym is a no-no, but I usually have this on when I workout so that I have some sort of definition to my face.
6. Bare Minerals concealer - It's really helpful when cleaning up my brows, and I use it as a highlight on my browbone.
7. Tarte Double Take liner. I wasn't too keen on it at first, but the second time around, I really began to like this liner.  Stays really black.
8. thru 10 - Sephora Pro Brushes!  (#78, #42 #91).  I love the feel of these three in particular.  I reach for them frequently, and I like how fast and evenly they disperse product.

Hah, yay!  I think you can still get it on Ulta!  I use it wet, flat side for highlighter on the cheek, pointed on brow bone.

OMG - I love Dahlia Divin, too!!!!   I also have Dahlia Divin Nectar, but it isn't as good IMO.

And the packaging for Love, Trust and Fairy Dust is gorgeous - bring on alllllll the sparkles!!!! ❤️

You know, I think I discovered a lot of favorites in 2017 and continued using them in 2018. But here are my most used products and favorite discoveries of 2018.

1. Nest Citrine: I love this fresh scent, and it always gets compliments. I need to reorder...

2. Glossier Boy Brow: I love how easy it is to use this product!

3. Shiseido VisionAiry Gel Lipsticks: My favorite 2018 discovery. I love this lipstick formula so much that I bought three shades. 

4. Nars Radiant Tinted Moisturizer: I've been using this so long that I just bought my fourth tube. 

5. Marc Jacobs Highliner: A BIC favorite with good reason.

6. Pat McGrath MatteTrance lipsticks: I was lucky enough to get a couple shades as gratis and ended up buying a few more shades when I fell in love with the formula.

7. Dr. Jart Cicapair Color Correcting Treatment: A miracle worker for redness.

8. RMS Champagne Rose Luminizer: My favorite natural highlighter, which I also discovered when I received this as gratis. I hit pan last month and immediately ordered a replacement.

9. Glossier Cloud Paint: The absolute easiest blush to use.

10. Viseart Petit Pro 3: The only eyeshadow palette I took with me to a girls' trip to New Orleans, and it survived hot, humid Southern summer weather.

Wow, that petite pro palette survived NOLA @txcatx ?! I don't need another eyeshadow palette...but for science...maybe?

@Mcakes Yes, I was shocked myself that most of my eyeshadow lasted all day in Nola in JULY! The smaller Viseart palettes are the perfect size for travel, too. I did use an eyeshadow primer, probably one from Tarte.

I'm sure you know the feeling, too, but after I find eye makeup products that can survive hot climates, I tend to stick with them forever. There are certain products I know to never use between April and October!
