Tom Ford Moisturecore in Pipa & Tom Ford lip color in Le Mepris

hi- has anyone tried this color- it looks to be really flattering and a warm coral-y color that I would like..what is the finish /feel?

Another shade that interested me was Le Mepris- looks to be in the same color family- which is better, why?

Thanks! Laura

Re: Tom Ford Moisturecore in Pipa & Tom Ford lip color in Le Mepris

I have Le Mepris - the color is really pretty, but the formula is just okay (for the price).  I don't find it particularly moisturizing, and it's not opaque or long-lasting like it claims to be.  The regular and matte lipstick lines are much better and essentially just as moisturizing in my opinion.  Tom Ford Something Wild is pretty much the same color as Le Mepris and the formula is a lot better.

I don't own any of the moisturecore shades, but I've tested them in store and my impression was that they're a slightly heavier, and no more moisturizing, version of the ultra-rich lip color.  I don't remember which shades I tried out, but all the ones I tried were way too frosty for me.  Tom Ford is probably my favorite makeup brand and most of the products I've tried have been good enough that I'm willing to pay the high prices, but the moisturecore line for me was definitely an easy pass.  From the ultra-rich line I have Le Mepris and Revolve Around Me - I'd repurchase Revolve Around Me again (just because it's one of the few nude shades that works for me) but definitely not Le Mepris (I do like the color so I'd probably get Something Wild instead, I just don't think the ultra-rich formula is worth $55).

I have never worn either of the colors but I am familiar with the formulas. The moisture core is going to be more balmy and will have a little shorter wear time.
