Lips on Lock 🔐: List Your Lip Combos 💄👄

There's a post every other day about the best lip combo (keep them coming!) I've gotten to love lip contouring/ombre lips more than I thought I would, and I of course, need to justify a use for some of these lip liners/glosses/lipsticks etc...😶💄🤫

I also can't remember half of them, so if this a thread where I'm replying to myself 🤷🏽‍♀️, at least I'll have a list

Feel free to list your fave combos, also consider putting in your lip color  (pink, brown, dual colored, rosy, etc) and aesthetic /style/look to help others lockdown their combos.

@lmaster, I’m so used to eyebrow or eyeshadow palettes from ABH, I forget they have lipsticks too. The combo with the Hourglass makes such a fiery hue - you make it look so wearable too.

I've been playing with some reddish-brown lip looks since Haus Labs Glassy Clove made its way into my collection 💖 and I realized it also works pretty well on my lips (I know, it's all in the name "lip and cheek blush balm stick" - it's meant to be worn on the cheeks & lips, itsfi - sometimes, I can be a little slow on the uptake). Some combos have worked out and others fizzled out. It wasn't until I picked up Rare Beauty Lip Oil Blaze that it all came together. I've been wearing this combo off and on since the middle of July in some blend or another (e.g., Fenty just as a liner, Fenty lined & diffused, Haus Labs lightly dabbed on the lips, Haus Labs fully loaded, etc.), and, after wearing this combo a couple of times a week for the last 6+ weeks, I feel like this reddish brown combo falls squarely within the definition of lips on lock! 😉 

💋 Lip color: muted rosy-mauve brown

💄Look: reddish-brown by a trio of talented singers-songwriters-actresses-businesswomen-philanthropists 

💋Lips on lock: Fenty Brown'd Out + Haus Labs Glassy Clove + Rare Beauty Blaze

Reds and browns are not color families I instinctively gravitate towards when it comes to my lip color. Or, they weren't until I came upon this captivating combination, which will be in play a lot for fall as well.

• Multi-hyphenate singer-songwriters that moonlight as beauty bosses with their thriving lines at Sephora (gosh, that feels longer than the names of some Korean sheet masks 😛🤣)
• Fall Faves 

And, without further adieu, the actual lips on locks - 

1. With a light hand, line lips with Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Trace'd Out Longwear Waterproof Pencil Lip Liner Brown'd Out, following the natural lip line
2. Diffuse & blend color with ring finger to fill in lips.
3. Softly pat HAUS LABS BY LADY GAGA Color Fuse Longwear Hydrating Glassy Lip + Cheek Blush Balm Stick Glassy Clov... onto bottom lip; smack lips together to transfer color to top lip. Clean-up work, including adding more color, if necessary, to the Cupid's bow.
4. Lightly dab Positive Light Luminizing Lip Gloss - Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez | Sephora to center of bottom lip, then to top. Diffuse with fingers until desired effect achieved. [Variation: Glide liberal amount of RB Blaze gloss across top & bottom lip, press together to disperse gloss & color.]
5. Clean-up work, if and as needed.

This turned out beautifully on you @itsfi . Love those nifty Haus sticks and you’re right, I forget about using them for lips too! I was about to post a look with my Typology lip oil and wondered which one you were wearing here, if a new cool wine shade and then I reread what you used. 🙃 Do you have that newer shade? I only have the one red but not the lip peel. Do you love it? I think Typology is a very cool concept! And I know you look wonderful in mauves and browns but I’ll always root for reds or reddy brown for you! 💞

This thread is such a good idea, thanks so much for creating it @danielledanielle ! It’s so hot here this week so I’m trying to lighten it up. Love Merit so much for the easy color and comfort. I picked up this little Chantecaille retractable lip brush and it’s really nice. It has a tiny plastic protector around the brush when you close it that my old ones do not have. Nice to load it up for a small purse.

It’s really a nifty little brush @danielledanielle . You’re right on all- mood, season, trends, weather, outfit colors, plans for the day or random! I do get some inspiration from online MUA/ actors. Sometimes I get on a brand roll too. You? I’ve been thinking a little more intently with this Thread as well. Good time to try out different ideas.
