So, I've been challenging myself to do a full-ish face in about six minutes. Have not succeeded yet 😭😅, so I'm looking to BIC for some tips to get past the finish line.
I want to know six products, any category, you use to get that quick glam. Bonus if it includes skincare. Double bonus if you've timed yourself and it's less than 7 minutes (if you include skincare, 10-15 min).

Okay that seems like so many products, but I was rushing like heck 😂😭
I don’t think it’s ideal for everyday though. I was rushing so much that by the end of it my counter looked like this. As someone with OCD, this was a big no and took me like 5 minutes alone to clean up 😂.
But somehow overall my makeup look seemed okay! I actually quite liked how it looked, except for the mascara 🕷️ iykyk
P.S this is not ideal for some. I do not do a full face and I also have bangs, sooo I never put makeup on my forehead which is kinda cheating 😂. Lmk what you think, this was an exciting challenge!
Wow! 6 minutes?! That seems crazy but with the right stuff, possible. I have gotten good at doing my whole routine in about 15 minutes because I’m ALWAYS running behind. (Skincare 5 minutes and Makeup 10)
Not sure if I’m reliable though because I don’t put on a full face really ever, but here are some of my tips.
Skincare
Prioritize 2-3 of your favorite products, whether it’s just skin concerns, spf, etc. No time for anything fancy.
Serums like the Glow Recipe Dew Drops can be a primer AND skincare product, anything sticky if you get what I mean.
Makeup
A concealer with good coverage. I’ve made the mistake in the morning of wanting full coverage and grabbing my light coverage one because it’s my fave. It ended taking like 5 minutes because I had to keep building it up and adding more.
Depending on the coverage you want, either go with skin tint or foundation. Or even just use concealer and save some time. In my opinion, skin tint is faster. If you choose foundation, I’d choose one that’s either a stick or 100% non messy, because when we’re running late we’re not the most cautious.
The battle of bronzer or contour, just pick your fave. No need for both.
Blush- Anything that can blend super easily and not be too pigmented. Stick blushes that blend into your skin are the way to go. For example you don’t wanna ruin the look with Rare Beauty or milk and not be able to fix it in time.
Highlighter. This can also double as a cute eye shadow if you get like a rosey or coppery one.
No time to curl the lashes. Just apply any mascara and use the wand to curl your lashes as you go. I know a lot of you like to get it all over your eye lids and then clean it off, no time for that. Just do it in one.
And that’s it! It’s all my opinion, and it may not work for some. ❤️
Amazing insights and interpretations I love these reminders I like the simplicity but very well thought out way you presented this. These are incredible points! Thank you for sharing 🙂 @ChickenGurlie
@ChickenGurlie, I appreciate your thoughts and addendums (replies), and totally with you on highlighter as shadow. I also appreciate your realness, and agreed - what works for you may not work for everyone, but it can always be helpful and useful to someone.
Yes, of course! This post has really interested me in the thought of, am I using too much? How can I make it more simple?
Ill time myself the next time I do my makeup and send a pic of all the products and time, just to see!
Oh how could I forget! Grab a lip gloss as you hustle out the door 😉
Third reply 😂
Also I heard First Aid Beauty has some full coverage SPF skin tints. They double as foundation and concealer depending on the shades you get
And I forgot something to set your face, def a translucent setting powder. You can just swipe it on and you’re done
@danielledanielle Whaaaaah? 6minutes? How? okay I will need to pre plan this…. (Also I am super upset I couldn’t get logged in all summer so I could do summer looks) cold weather looks take more time.
I’m so glad it’s working for you now, that is so frustrating technology is wonky! I love how you mentioned season, skincare and the whole routine definatley adds some minutes. Great thoughts! @heartsmyface
@heartsmyface, If you can narrow it down to seven (like a hybrid item, skincare + makeup), I bet you can pull of something killer...🤔
It was a work from home day earlier this week. By all accounts, I only had a few phone calls on my calendar - one first thing in the morning, one mid-morning and one late afternoon. Then during my first call, I learned there was an 8:30am videoconference call that was added at the last minute to my schedule. Ummm.... definitely in need of something fast and furious. Hit the 6 products but not the under-7 minutes. A reminder that perhaps a "go to" quick-and-easy look might not be a bad idea to have on hand at all times. Also a reminder that I need to work on getting better with applying blush; planning on trying out different techniques this summer a la Cheek Challenge Summer 2024: Choose Your Own Adventure @danielledanielle.
Cheek products take up more time for me and so I usually stick with just one - blush, bronzer or highlighter. Including two here, along with hurriedly putting on my face while trying to actively participate in a call made it a bit more challenging.
MAKEUP BY MARIO SurrealSkin™ Awakening Concealer as foundation and concealer.
TOM FORD Soleil Glow Bronzer 02 Terra as bronzer and eyeshadow

You did excellent! I know this is from a while ago but I loved reading and learning as always! I think the technique piece is so well put, I never even thought about that like the length of time different tools or applications or products take so neat! Love this 😊❤️ @itsfi
Thank you @peculiarzmakeup! Some tools work better with certain makeup products and for me, finding the right pairing can help with not just how well the product applies but also how long. I have been using a certain skin tint on the weekends and for the longest time, I was applying with a foundation brush or my fingers. I tried it with a beauty sponge and oh!!! 😳 It was such a better application and since it applied more smoothly, I wasn’t spending as much time putting it on in the mornings. I don’t know why I didn’t think of using a beauty sponge earlier. But now I know. 😊
Love how it’s all a learning experience and it leads you too what works best for you! That’s awesome to hear! @itsfi
830am anything work or school related should be illegal @itsfi , but you did it!
What technique(s) did you put to the task?
@danielledanielle, for the first time I used this set of makeup, I just used brushes and a lot of blending, blending, blending with the cream blush, because I picked up a little too much product.
I went back to try this one later in the week and that time I used a couple of different tools and techniques - with the powder blush, I used the same brush I used for the bronzer. The brush still had bronzer on it, which was fine as I wanted to have the blush color mixed in with, diffused a bit by, the bronzer. With the cream blush, this time, I used a brush again, though with a lighter hand, for placement and then used my fingers to blend. I will try using a beauty blender at another time to see how that works out - I don't recall using a beauty blender to apply blush before, so something new for me.
@itsfi, diffusion for the win! 🙌🏽
A beautyblender for blush works, it's not my favorite method, but it definitely gives a dewy finish.
Technically there's 7 products here @danielledanielle, so this is more of a Sephora Six (plus 1) - Fast & Furious Edition, from a "green" makeup capsule earlier this week.
😎 Primer - Fenty Skin Hydra Vizor Mineral SPF 30 Refillable Moisturizer which was part of this year's Sephora Favorites Sun Safety Kit - the soft, peach tint to this SPF moisturizer adds a nice brightness to my skin
💐 Base - A layer of the Sweed Glass Skin Foundation, followed by a layer of the Sweed mixed with the Isle of Paradise Sunny Serum Instant Face Bronzer 1.01 oz / 30 mL for warmth and extra radiance
🌴 Concealer - HAUS LABS BY LADY GAGA Triclone Skin Tech Hydrating + De-puffing Concealer with Fermented Arnica 11 Light Neutral has been wonderful for helping to reduce the appearance of some PIH (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation) dark spots
👁 Eyes - I've repurposed the MERIT Bronze Balm Sheer Sculpting Bronzer Clay as an eyeshadow. This day I wore it as an all over shadow with the darker shade from the Victoria Beckham Beauty Bronzing Brick (No. 2) in the crease and the lighter shade from the duo to set my eyeshadow and entire face.
💋 Lips - MERIT Shade Slick Gelée Sheer Tinted Lip Oil Mapleton adds just the slightest red-brown tint with a sheen to my lips.
🏵 Setting Powder - lighter shade from the Victoria Beckham Beauty Bronzing Brick (No. 2)
I forgot to time how long this took and I'd guess it was a smidge longer than 5 minutes - it took some time to conceal the pesky dark spots. The Sweed foundation did a good job, but there was still some time spent with the Haus concealer going over those spots.
