Primer question

Hey everyone!

I just tried my first silicone primer now that I have fine lines and loooove the blurring. But, I noticed parts of my face have patches of white, almost filmy-like skin that kind of looks like the primer residue when I put it on my hand. I take off my makeup with micelle water, take the day off balm and tatcha rice cleanser every day so I feel like that should be more than enough to remove all of my makeup. Before I bought that primer I had switched to a higher concentration ordinary brand retinol, so maybe it’s that? Though this never happened with past retinol products and i only had mild irritation on my cheeks. Can silicone cause a film buildup on the skin? If so, how can I get it off?

Also- I’m currently using the Caliray So Blown primer. I like how it makes my skin look but it really hates any water-based products. I much prefer skin tints to foundations and most of these are water based. Any recommendations for a pore/line filling and blurring primer that plays well with water based products?

thanks xo

Re: Primer question

I love smashbox primers! They make one for every skin type/concern now! Make sure to press it into your skin. Don't apply it like a moisturizer. It will pill. Apply a thin layer, and add where you feel you need it. I'm oily with breakout prone skin, and I'm 40. I know the struggle!
