@GG84  Yep, I just messaged it to you. Vanicream’s gel deodorant is terrible (doesn’t work at all for me) and I don’t know why they bother making it when their solid antiperspirant’s so fantastic.

Thanks @caitbird ! I’ve been thinking up ways to display and store brushes on/in my beauty desk. I’m turning one of the drawers into a cedar drawer for some of my other face/powder brushes. That project’s going much slower than I expected. 🫠 And I like your photos: when I see thumbnails on the main Community feed, I can always tell which ones are yours. 🙂

Most of my September damage, kinda haphazardly grouped in photos because I couldn’t remember which retailer some items came from, plus I kept having “wait, I got [item] this month too” moments. Everything came from Sephora, Kohl’s, Ulta, Macy’s, Abib, Chanel, Danessa Myricks, Hourglass, Surratt, Fude Beauty, Amazon, Polish Pickup, and Lisa Eldridge. I’ll split this into 2 posts to avoid BIC’s “too many characters” error. 

I almost wish Serena had made her lip liner casings tennis ball green too. 😄 The black Chanel tube is a purple mascara.

Kaja Heart Melter Lip Gloss Stick 02 Sweet Talk was part of my Macy’s “let’s use up my Star Rewards” order. I still really like Kaja’s gloss sticks and usually keep one (Too Hot) in my purse. 

WYN Beauty (Serena Williams’s new makeup line): 

• Word of Mouth Max Comfort Matte Lipstick shade Tell - I’m now at the 6.5 hour mark of a wear test. This lipstick’s impressively long-wearing! It’s not transfer-proof, but the color doesn’t fade much off my lips. It looks almost as opaque now as it did when I applied it hours ago. “Comfort matte” is a good descriptor: it’s not creamy comfy or emollient, but my lips aren’t screaming for more Aquaphor. Tell is a bit closer to oxblood than I thought it’d be; I was expecting more of a purple-leaning deep berry. Still pretty though, and I’m impressed enough to get another shade. 
  
  
• Starting Line Peptide Infused Lip Liner shades Excellence and Statement - haven’t tested these retractable liners yet, but they felt creamy (but not mushy like the Fenty lip liners) on my hand. The caps are VERY tightly closed on these, and the liner’s not retracted below the opening. So if you buy one, try to pull the cap straight outward so you don’t accidentally break the liner tip. 

Rabanne Eyephoria Mini Eyeshadow Palette Duo, Midnight Lights - okay so look, I cannot resist a good blue eyeshadow, I mean we’ve pretty much established this fact by now right? I have and love other Rabanne shadows, and this duo was on my Ulta wishlist for a while. Ulta’s lipstick GWP was enough to push this duo into my cart. Rabanne might also have been a bonus points brand at the time… eh, it’s all a blur. I have no regrets about this purchase and I see myself traveling with it. 

Fenty Gloss Bomb Le Roblox - a Sephora at Kohl’s surprise find. I was ordering other things and wondered if Kohl’s had any Fenty items no longer sold at Sephora. I wanted this Gloss Bomb shade when it launched but talked myself out of it. Not anymore! Haven’t even opened it yet, but will play with it this week. 

Danessa Myricks Beauty Yummy Skin Blurring Balm Powder Lowlighter Soft Glow Highlighter Lowkey - part of my order direct from DM during her sale. This shade is quite subtle on me, so it’ll be useful a few different ways and fun to play with. 

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked Palette Evil Eye - used one of the several 10% affiliate discount codes floating around to get this at launch. (Didn’t customize to a different case because I like the evil eye design.) I’ll swatch the other 2 palettes in-store (if/when my local stores put out testers) and decide if I wanna use rewards to get one of ‘em for $0 out of pocket. I figured Evil Eye was a safe bet to buy direct from Hourglass. I still haven’t swatched or used it, so we’ll see if I end up loving this palette as much as the Edit Unlocked Tiger palette, aka my favorite of all my HG palettes. 

Chanel Noir Allure Mascara shade 27 Améthyste - trying yet another brand’s purple mascara* and heck, why not Chanel’s? The cool toned violet color is beautiful on my lashes, but the mascara formula doesn’t do much at all to enhance ‘em. 😒 I need to try it over a lash primer before casting final judgement. 

*By Terry’s purple is too subtle a color, plus that tube’s past expiration so I need to clean it out for recycling. Tokyo Addiction’s purple might work but I haven’t tested it yet, because I keep forgetting to set it out where I’ll quickly see it. (Note to self!) Other brands’ purple’s I’ve tried before were no-gos (bad performance or eye irritation). 

Used a Rouge Reward for Lightwork VI. Got the 3 Colorfixes direct from Danessa.

Danessa Myricks Beauty LIGHTWORK VI The Freedom Palette: Magnetic, Customizable, Stackable Palette with Illuminating Pigments for Eyes, Face & Lips - my latest Rouge Reward purchase. No I have not swatched it yet, surprisingly. I’m sure I’ll dip into it this week though. 

Danessa Myricks Beauty Colorfix - Multi-Use Eye, Cheek & Lip Waterproof Liquid Pigment Evergreen , Titanium, and Matcha - the rest of my sale order direct from DM. These I did swatch tonight and I’m super happy with ‘em. Evergreen is stunning, but Matcha might be my fave of these 3.

The “Dream Big” satin eye mask and carrying bag were an unexpected apology gift from Danessa Myricks for slow shipping. 🖤 The black tube is Le Volume de Chanel Mascara, which will be interesting to compare to their Noir Allure mascara. The 3 mini lipsticks are Hourglass Red O (GWP from HG) and Ulta’s GWP Rabanne shades Sugar Baby and First Red Carpet. Not pictured is a Rabanne Drama Lips sample card.

SEPHORA COLLECTION Essential Brush - 02 Concealer and SEPHORA COLLECTION Essential Brush - 11 Eyeliner - wanted to try a few of these brushes before recommending them to folks seeking low-cost options. I just realized I haven’t tested either of these yet. I’m skeptical about the liner brush because it doesn’t have a finely tapered point. But the concealer brush has potential: it’s soft and dense, but not super dense. I can see using this brush several different ways. Hope I remember to test it soon. 

Sephora GWP: Charlotte Tilbury Mini Exagger-eyes Volumizing and Curling Mascara Exagger-black - haven’t built it up beyond one coat yet, and the night I did my eye swatch was just a one-hour wear. So I still need to wear it a full day before giving much feedback. For now, I can say it didn’t irritate my eyes at all and I love the curved brush. Gotta test it against my longtime favorite, Charlotte’s Legendary Lashes Vol. 2. 

Surratt sale: 

• Artistique Blush shade Brillante Idee - a beautiful orange that’s truly a reddish orange instead of actually red. 
• La Baton Rouge shade Elysian - a purple matte lip crayon on one end and a purple lip powder on the other end. This is now the 3rd shade of La Baton Rouge I own, and I rarely use the powder end. I even forgot to swatch the Elysian powder tonight. The crayon end of these is usually comfy enough to wear over lip balm. 
• Artistique Eyeshadow shade Envier - because why not grab one more single Surratt shadow while they’re on sale again? I’m glad this shade was still available. It’s so pretty in person. 

#Lancôme L'Absolu Rouge Intimatte Buildable Soft Matte Lipstick 450 Surprise Surprise - I’ve never tried this Lancôme lip formula despite being asked about it, so of course I need to rectify this problem. It did indeed feel like a “soft matte” on my hand: creamier than expected, but also lightweight and semi-opaque (but buildable). This might be what I wanted NARS’s matte lip balm to be. I’ll find out when I wear it a full day.
