Whether you open all the doors to your calendar at once, or you open a box one day at a time and follow the traditional schedule (e.g., 24 day unboxing beginning on 12.1 and 12-day calendar unboxing beginning 12.13 or 12.25), WELCOME!! 

For those of us who just can't wait to see what goodies are in our advent calendars, if you will be opening all the doors/boxes at once before the end of the season, please consider hiding your unboxing posts behind a spoiler tab so those who want to be surprised day by day can still do so.

@CookieGirl1, that seems to be the feeling among many, that they come out earlier in advance than perhaps is necessary. As far as I can remember though, sale of advent calendars start early, especially in the UK. They're extremely popular there as well. I imagine there's a host of factors for the early start, including the competitive advantage that brands/companies gain or hope to gain with making them available earlier.

@zxena, are you referring to one of the advent calendars that have been previously mentioned in the thread? If so, the direct site for most will have info for purchase though not all are available for preorder at the moment. 

If you mean advent calendars at Sephora including the Sephora Collection advent calendar, I haven’t seen those for 2025 yet. 

Edited 9.7.2025 to add: A 25-day Sephora Favorites advent calendar is available today (9.7) exclusively on the Sephora app. It will pop up on the site after the 7th, usually the next day. I'll try to post a tag, but there's been some issues of late with tagging new releases.

Wanted to take some time to list other types of advent calendars -non-beauty, non-chocolate related advent calendars, as well as how to use an advent calendar in a non-traditional way. If you know of any not listed here, please let us know.

Non-Beauty / Non-Chocolate Advent Calendars:

• Clue game - @Samtian, I know you play Clue as part of your self-care (on my list to try) and I thought of you when I saw this. It looks fun! 
• Self Care - Pinch Provisions has, in the past, had a 7-day calendar with self-care tools

Other Ways to Use Advent Calendars:

It can be overwhelming the sheer number of things that roll in with the holidays, at least for me. I'm grateful for the outpouring but it can be a lot sometimes. In the past, I've spread the love over time. It makes it feel less overwhelming and I get to keep that holiday cheer going for a little longer; sometimes, a lot longer. 

• Voluspa puts out a couple different advent calendars every year (or they have in the past); I'll tag them as they come up on Sephora online. Some are filled with their classic sizes as well as one with votives; others are from a particular collection (e.g., Japonica). They're generally 12-day advent calendars.
• The first year I picked up one of these Voluspa advents, I burned a new calendar each day for 12 days. For me personally, that meant too many partially burned candles as I have other candles in use during the holidays.
• Since that first one, I've picked up a Voluspa 12-day advent calendar but I've treated each box/day as a candle for each month of the year (roughly), beginning that following January. 
• Some years, I've done just that - open up a new candle from the advent calendar every month. Other years, I've started in January with the candle behind door/box 1 and just worked my way through as I've finished a candle from the set. I did that this year and we started out going through more than one candle in the early part of the year and then experienced a bit of a lull because I wasn't burning candles as often. I'm opened door/box 8 earlier this month so I'm back on track with one candle per month from the advent. 

If others have ideas for non-beauty advent calendars or other ways to use advent calendars, do share!

Ahhh @makeitup305, this!! I've eyed that advent for years but never gave it more than a glance because I didn't know how much jam it would be. I'll have to take a closer look at the flavors but this could be the year!

Wufers has a singing advent calendar for dogs this year
