Advent Calendars 2024 - Let the Unboxings Begin!!

The holiday countdown has begun!! 🎁  Please share your advent calendar unboxings. 😍

Whether you open all the doors to your calendar at once, or whether you open a box one day at time and follow the traditional schedule (e.g., 24 day unboxing beginning on 12/1 and 12-day calendar unboxing beginning 12/25).

For those of us who just can't wait to see what goodies are in our advent calendars and are opening all the doors/boxes at once before the end of the season, please consider hiding your unboxing post behind a spoiler tab so those who want to be surprised day by day can still do so.

- from Olive & June, a little doohickey that I *think* is for removing nail polish? Idk, I have to look it up 😅

- from Cult Pens, a multitasking ballpoint pen with ruler markings on it (handy!)

@caitbird  A ruler pen! That’s neat! The O&J is the poppy it’s to help paint better left handed! Pop the top off the polish and pop that on and it’s supposed to help!

Your Day 2 has some fun treats @caitbird. Love the construction pen; I have something similar but I like the color and ruler on yours more. I *think* the Olive & June gadget is to place over the top / handle of the nail polish, to make it easier to apply. Going to tag @Cissy63 who may be able to help out with this - she's got some good knowledge and experience with Olive & June.

@itsfi  @CynthieLu  I have just looked on Olive & June's site and itsfi is right, this gadget/doohickey/thingamabob is called "the Poppy" and it is a universal grip that slips on over the nail polish cap like so:

The more you know! 😂 Ngl I'm kind of curious to try it out!

hahaha @caitbird, I was going to call it a doohickey as well but I got stumped on "is it hickey or hicky?" 🤣 I feel like there are a few of us invested in your thoughts on this thingamabob (another great word that does not get used enough!!) and we will all be ready for your feedback after you have enough time to really put it to the test.

@itsfi  you got me curious, so I did a quick search - a consensus of the major dictionaries seems to be that "doohickey" is the accepted spelling 🤣 and yes, I will have to remember to try it out next time I use nail polish!

Ahhhh I've never heard of or seen a tool like that, but that's so handy! Especially for mobility issues, I think it's very neat. 👌

Oh yes the Poppy!  It’s meant to help your non dominant hand apply polish easily @CynthieLu, @itsfi , @caitbird .  @caitbird @What do you think?

I love that @Cissy63. My non-dominant hand does too - as does my dominant hand since it would see some major benefit from a tool like this - less having to start all over and less messes to clean up. 😅
