The holiday countdown has begun!! 🎁 Please share your advent calendar unboxings. 😍
Whether you open all the doors to your calendar at once, or whether you open a box one day at time and follow the traditional schedule (e.g., 24 day unboxing beginning on 12/1 and 12-day calendar unboxing beginning 12/25).
For those of us who just can't wait to see what goodies are in our advent calendars and are opening all the doors/boxes at once before the end of the season, please consider hiding your unboxing post behind a spoiler tab so those who want to be surprised day by day can still do so.

I love the history of this thank you for adding it in it was fun to learn about it and also that scent sounds lovely so fascinating how things date back through time. Another great addition to the unboxing I think i will say that everyday but that’s good! Yay for day 5! @itsfi
@itsfi Super that one of your favorite scents were included in the calendar. It sounds like a complex of scents that are in this one
Day 4!
- from William Morris, a Beautiful Sleep pulse point oil - no idea if this works, but definitely willing to try it!
- from Olive & June, super glossy top coat
- from Cult Pens, a very nice wooden pencil holder/pen cup - it has a soft rubbery bottom so it won't scratch whatever surface you place it on
The pencil holder was a fun surprise, I wasn't expecting anything like that to be included and I can definitely make use of it to corral (some of) my increasing pen/pencil collection!
@caitbird You are opening really cool things in your adventure calendars! That pen holder is first rate! And that glossy topcoat makes your polish look wonderful 😊
That pencil holder is beautiful and would look gorgeous on any table @caitbird! I know it's a stationary advent but I could see it doing well (and looking good) storing lip pencils or eyeliner pencils. Or brushes, too.
I love how each day has a fabulous new suprise I’m impressed by these because they do something different each day each day is truly a surprise 🙂 so neat 🙂 these are great items! @caitbird
Would love your thoughts on the oil if you remember @caitbird
I love that pencil holder @caitbird 🥰 Looks liked you get great items again. Yay
These are so sweet @caitbird Your advents have been pretty interesting with thier array of gifts. 😀
It's the little touches thou, like the rubber bottom on your new pencil holder. The little touches are appreciated 👌
@CynthieLu thank you! I agree, it's the little things that make them special 💜
Diptyque Day 4
We have one of Diptyque's limited edition holiday candles for Day 4, in a mini ~ Etoile, which if I'm remembering right, means star in French. The cold throw (candle smell before it's lit) is strong, and powdery - as in more of a powdery scented flower bent, less baby powder smell - maybe violets or irises or lilacs? When lit the throw is more mellow but still prominent - the powderiness (not sure if that's an actual word) in the candle softens a bit when lit but I can still pick it up quickly when I walk back into the room the candle is in. There's also a slight musk-like note my nose picks up on as well as a subtle, clean/fresh scent that makes me think of laundry or little French soaps.
I don't instinctively think "star" with this scent but it is a pretty one. I actually feel like this scent is similar, or possibly the same, as the Neige candle Diptyque had as part of its holiday collection a couple of years ago - just renamed and repackaged. My recollection is that this advent calendar includes mini candles of all 3 of this year's holiday scents; I'm going to save Etoile for when the other two have been unboxed to see what it smells like when all 3 candles are lit.
P.S. Interestingly, the cold throw after having burned the Diptqyue Etoile Candle and letting it cool is much less pronounced than the cold throw immediately out of the box. 🤔 The powdery floral scen is still there but it's much softer, almost subtle. Still a pretty scent.
@itsfi You are right it does mean star in French and Neige is snow in French! I wonder if there’s a theme with their winter scents?
This sounds like such a unique scent. I do believe powderness must be a word. And if it isn’t we shall say it is now. It’s such a great description for a scent!
@ather, I feel like it was brought to my attention at one point (though I don't know if it was from a Diptyque employee or if I read it somewhere, but I know that in addition to their overall holiday theme, their limited edition holiday candles usually includes one each of a Christmas, pine tree scent (their sapin is the standby for this scent family), a gourmand scent, and a winter wonderland (I forget the actual theme but that's the feel) scent. Etoile or Neige have been the most recent for this category.
@itsfi Oh wonderful another lovely candle! This sounds so good. Oh you will have to say how all 3 candles smell when burned altogether 😀. This advent calendar has such good items.
I've been really impressed with this advent calendar @Cissy63. It's a fun thing to do each morning (or some days, after I get home).
Wow another fabulous addition from this Calender. Loved reading your thoughts on this ❤️ @itsfi
I've been super happy so far with the treats in this advent calendar @peculiarzmakeup. I went back and forth on whether to get it but am so glad I did. It's been a lot of fun doing the unboxings and putting the products to use.
