Sephoria NYC 2023

Now that the word is officially out….who will be attending Sephoria NYC 2023 on September 29-30, 2023?

I won’t be able to attend in person this year (I plan to attend virtually) but I know other members who are already planning and going.  If I had to choose a session it would be session 3 with Patrick Ta and Natasha Denona. 

Please share your excitement and even photos and experience here if you do go.

Awwww @Mcakes! I'm so happy we got to meet face-to-face; you're amazing! I'm caught up on sleep and laundry's done so your Sephoria diary is top of my list of things to do after work tonight. Can't wait to grab a glass of wine and relive some fun memories!

@KailaWaysThey sent emails saying they would mail you your swag bag if you emailed a certain address.  Check your emails and email them for it.  I called today to confirm we'd be getting the swag bag in addition to the refund and they confirmed that's correct.  They said they would send them out in October.

Can any gold key ticket holders from Saturday talk about the Gold Key Lounge? 

i was a gold key holder for Friday and that’s the only thing I haven’t seen shown or talked about so far.

@michellecat   The lounge was awesome!  There were sooo many places to sit and even lay down!  There were Bouquets of flowers, cute cushions and a nail deco area!  
It was a great place to sit and have death water mini cupcakes and a bit of a sensory break from the chaos beyond the walls.

Day one. Chaotic! I never felt like a city didn't want me there more than this city made me feel. Flight got delayed 2 hours..I got to my hotel close to 1 am. The next morning I get dressed up, do my makeup and head out for first time navigating New York City, by myself. Make the bus trip ok. It's such heavy rain the governor declared a national disaster!

I saw waves on the freeway . So I get dropped off and have to find the subway. I'm getting drenched thru my poncho. I figure out the subway and start my first subway ride ever! An announcement comes on about Brooklyn Subway lines being flooded so they weren't going further. I get let off about 8 total blocks from where I need. By the time I walked through flooded streets I was a drowned rat. Water lines up to my thighs and my feet were walking in ocean pools in my shoes.

I finally got to meet my Sephora friends and some of the ambassadors! They took such good care of me
. (My clothes and shoes didn't dry out until late late Saturday night). Sephora ends up cancelling both sessions of Sephoria that day. We were able to get our swag bags though. (so heavy)

I spent the rest of the day with my Friends and we went to eat and of course find a Sephora. I got so much free stuff (more on that later) don't ask why I still bought things .

What a memorable trip @Samtian ! What I love most is how the group shined despite the clouds and rainfall, you all have such sunny dispositions!

@Samtian  Tacking onto this story- I was down early waiting in the lobby for BIC members to trickle down when I realized how very drowned we were going to look walking the six blocks with no umbrellas.  A river was forming outside and the rain was coming down very aggressively to the point I was convinced cars were getting pressure stripped.  
i borrowed the personal Barbie umbrella of one of the concierge members and got directions to an umbrella stand thinking I was going to be a hero and get us all there with hair intact.  
i made it half a block before a car drove down the opposite side of the street and tsunami’d this poor couple.  They just stood there drenched and in shock and I was like ‘ABORT MISSION!!!’ And ran back inside.  
I called an Uber for us instead and it had stars for a roof!!’ And shooting stars at that!  
The universe definitely didn’t want Day 1 to happen and did everything to stop us but we persevered and had some magical moments in our efforts:)
