Sephoria NYC 2023

Now that the word is officially out….who will be attending Sephoria NYC 2023 on September 29-30, 2023?

I won’t be able to attend in person this year (I plan to attend virtually) but I know other members who are already planning and going.  If I had to choose a session it would be session 3 with Patrick Ta and Natasha Denona. 

Please share your excitement and even photos and experience here if you do go.

The gold key would be a nice early bday gift for me lol. I honestly didn't realize the sessions would sellout so quickly. I should have bought 2 and asked questions later. I was hoping it would come back in stock when the early bird pricing ended today, but it's been extended to August 17th now so who knows.

@misscg, oh that's good to know, you have some time to think about it (versus last minute impulse).

I tried to ask CS if they could switch the time but was sent the terms and conditions I agreed to when I bought the ticket. Disappointing. Definitely zapped some of the excitement for the event as I'll be going alone.

I’m trying to think strategically about which event I purchase gold tickets for. Are the same brand booths present during each day? Are the swag bags the same for each day? Do we know if it’s better to go to a Friday master class vs Saturday to ensure swag bag availability? Will the masterclass brand give out an extra free goodie? Should I get multiple tickets?? LOL someone help

@Nuribudi  The swag bags have been the same  for each session in the past.

I attended all four and brought home four of everything plus the trick or treating samples from the brand booths.

@Nuribudi I’ve gone both years Sephoria has been available so far and here’s my experience:

1. Yes, the same brands are present each day.

2. The swag bags vary by tier, and within the tier there may be some variation in the items. For example, they gave us Huda Beauty mini palettes one year and the shade variation was different because of the available options. 
3. Masterclasses have their own goodies given away sometimes which are separate from the swag bags you are guaranteed to get when you purchase a ticket. The swag bags are given to you at the end in exchange for your wristband/cutting your wristband. For example, Nikkietutorials gave everyone in the audience for her Masterclass a lipgloss. 
4. I have always attended at least 2 sessions, the first go is kind of overwhelming and you’re getting the lay of the land. The second round is getting to make sure you do get to visit with every brand you want to explore and just soak in the experience a little more. If you are planning on attending Masterclasses or getting a service those cut into your play time. So I feel like going twice helps me get the FOMO out of my system lol.

@Mcakes  Sneaker or loafers are recommended!  It’s a lot of walking on cement floors ALL DAY!

I haven’t been since 2019 in LA but there should be little to no variability in swag bags. They are all prekitted so brands just ship 500 or however many of the item ahead of the event. Now some of the actual brand booths will run out of what they hand out separate from the swag bag. I don’t recall any extras in the Master Classes… hope this helps!

@happy118 This is so true - some of the booths were running out of samples by the 3rd session in 2019 - I hope they all bring more this time. 

We got a Marc Jacobs lip gloss during the Nikkie Tutorials Masterclass in 2019, but I didn't get extras in any other Masterclasses in 2018 or 2019.

I don't remember if there was a Masterclass goodie (I will say no, but I had to bolt twice, so I can't be 100% sure).  The booths are the same for each session, granted the giveaways may change later on @Nuribudi .  Also, the bags are kind of pre-determined by value, so it's not like a different session would have a totally different bag, but I do recall some slight variations (shades, one or two missing items) between my bag and the bag of my guest when I went, but they were pretty similar.  I'd be cautious about multiple tickets because early bird ended yesterday, and they are wristbrands assigned to who the ticketholder is (aka non-transferrable), so if you're buying for others, be sure they are going.

@danielledanielle  in the past the wrist bands have been mailed out in advance and  scanned as you enter and you get your swag bag as you leave after they’ve cut them off.  I’ve gone in with two wristbands in the past as I had the paperwork for two tickets when when a companion couldn’t make it and i just had to get back in the exit line to get my second wristband cut off.
