Sephoria NYC 2023

Now that the word is officially out….who will be attending Sephoria NYC 2023 on September 29-30, 2023?

I won’t be able to attend in person this year (I plan to attend virtually) but I know other members who are already planning and going.  If I had to choose a session it would be session 3 with Patrick Ta and Natasha Denona. 

Please share your excitement and even photos and experience here if you do go.

Is there a thread that explains what Sephoria is like?

I have been to NYC Comic Con. Is it like the exhibit floor of Comic Con? Do different makeup companies have different booths that showcase their products? In addition to the swag bags, are there freebies and giveaways?

Do you explore the experience until it's time for the master classes?  (And importantly- will there be lunch or should I pack a snack?  Hey, a woman's gotta stay hydrated when shopping for make up!)

For those of you who have gone before, can you share what it was like for us newbies?

@Tarabotti  Hi there! I’ve been to the first two Sephoria’s so can speak to those. Never been to CC but it is very much like a convention. Different brands have their own stations and booths and all will either have mini games where you can win prizes like deluxe sized samples or other merch or reps with info and tips on how to use their products. There are Photo Op stations where you can take photos or videos in brand related things- Fenty had a “pool” filled with gold or glitter (can’t remember) and I remember sitting on a throne with a flower bouquet as well for a perfume company. The goal is to explore all or some stations in between the masterclasses if you sign up for any.

Food- yes, I believe there was food and small bites but I can’t remember much about food since I was just too excited to get to all the booths so I suppressed my stomach 😂 

Aside from going home with the giant swag bag full of full sized products, I went home with a separate bag filled with nothing but freebies from the booths I hit. I reeeeally hope they stick to full sized products for the swag bag this year so it can make the trip just more worth it.

I read on a site that the swag bag only contains deluxe sized products- does anyone happen to know of any spoilers, etc. for the bags?

@Ispend2much6 Are you coming in person?!?? Ahh this will be dangerous for our wallets to be together lol. The swag bags have been mostly full size, some deluxe size items in there and given away as samples during the event.

@Ispend2much6 I dunno what’s in this year’s bag but I can say the previous years the swag bags for the VIP tickets were all full sizes and all amazing. Honestly I love these cuz of the swag bags.

@bem564 darn it. I don’t really care for any classes for the session I bought. But I couldn’t make it to the other sessions. I really want to go to charlotte tilbury’s class but I’ve met her in person before at the first sephoria. I also want to go to Patrick ta’s class or rare. But I’m still happy to be able to go in general

@bem564  Thank you for the tag! Natasha is the only one I haven’t met in person so I will more than likely go to that class. I’m reeeeally tempted to get a ticket for Friday to see DDG class as well. We shall see 🤪
