It has been one of those weeks for me so I decided to treat myself. While on the Sephora app I noticed beauty services being a part of the beauty challenges going on right now. I have never had a facial done and decided to book my appointment the same day for a hydrafacial face and lip treatment at my local Sephora. My amazing hydrafacialist was Danielle who talked me through the whole experience and educated me step by step of what products she would be using on me based on my skin scan. She even complemented on how well my skin looked ☺️
Here’s step by step of what happened if anyone wants to book one:
I arrived on time to my appointment this morning and a skin scan was done to see where my skin was at for the day. My results were then emailed to me. Looks like my current skincare routine is working because my results were 👍

She had 2 Sephora pen like vials she attached to the machine. One for exfoliating and the other was hyaluronic acid to hydrate and plump up my skin. She took her time doing both and focused more on places where there was more congestion, which was my nose and chin area. After, she applied some skincare catered to my skin type that day. She used:
Caudalie Vinoclean Makeup Removing Cleansing Oil 5.0 oz/ 150 mL
to cleanse my skin before starting
Shani Darden Skin Care Moisture Boost Plumping Serum 1 oz / 30 ml
Summer Fridays Light Aura Vitamin C + Peptide Eye Cream .5 oz/ 15 mL
Summer Fridays Cloud Dew Gel Cream Moisturizer 1.70 oz/ 50 mL
innisfree Daily UV Defense Invisible Broad Spectrum SPF 36 Sunscreen 1.69 oz / 50 ml
Danielle let me know not to use retinol or lactic acid for at least 24 hours after getting the facial done. Vitamin c serum would be okay. She also showed me the container which showed what was sucked out of my skin 😳
I decided to add the lip treatment after getting my hydrafacial done which wasn’t an issue. She said the treatment helps with people who tend to have more cracked or dry lips. It took about 10 minutes where she used the machine to exfoliate and plump up my lips. She applied
Tatcha The Kissu Hydrating & Plumping Lip Mask Original
afterwards.
By the end of the treatments I could feel my skin more hydrated and glowy. My lips were a little more plump.
All in all I really enjoyed my experience. I didn’t really know what to expect but was feeling more comfortable that the station was more towards the back instead of the front where all the traffic was. I had a few people stop and see what was going on but it didn’t bother me.
Final note, you are allowed to tip for the service at the end when you check out. I was given samples before I left. Also, they do use the sample testers out on your face but with a spatula. You don’t know if people have put their fingers in it so that was the only thing I was worried about. Luckily nothing happened to me but just wanted to put that out there since we know the testers can be contaminated.
Update: they actually do not use the sample testers like I thought. They have their own bins with their skincare products in it.
