Alternative to Kat Von D eyeliner?

I love Kat Von D’s tattoo eyeliner. It lasts forever both on my eye and in the tube. I’m just looking for an alternative because it doesn’t sit well with me to support someone that is publicly an anti-vaxxer and spreads dangerous misinformation like that. I’ve tried Stila before but found that the tube dries out pretty quickly. Is Fenty comparable to KVD? I’d love to support a brand that has an POC woman as a figurehead too.

I also cancelled KVD after the anti-vax thing.

I love the CHARLOTTE TILBURY - The Feline Flick Liquid Eyeliner, I love the japanese K-palette 24hrs eyeliners (you can find them at amazon!) and had good experiences with eyeko eyeliners too!

I gave a sample of Ciate’s Fierce Flicks to a dancer friend and they were very happy with how it performed during their performances. I don’t know how long the liner lasts before drying out, but I think it’s worth checking out.

Not POC-owned but the Eyeko liquid eyeliners and the Lorac Front of the Line Pro liquid eyeliners are both solid performers. I've used the KVD eyeliner and they perform the same on the eye, plus both eyeliner pens last longer overall.  You can typically see one of them on sale during Ulta's 21 Days of Beauty, although I'm not sure if either will be part of the upcoming sale. The only complaint that I have about the Lorac one is that you should avoid the brown color. It's horrible.

Re: Alternative to Kat Von D eyeliner?

KVD lost me this year, too. The Tattoo liner never well for me, but I have some KVD lipsticks I just can’t bring myself to wear anymore.

I just bought PAT McGRATH LABS PERMA PRECISION Liquid Eyeliner Xtreme Black  but haven’t tested it on my eyes yet. I’ve swatched it on my bare hand (no eyeshadow primer): once it’s dry, it can survive a good amount of hard rubbing. A wet finger smudges it, though. I’ll try it this weekend to see how it performs on my eyes.

Pat is the CEO of her brand, so PMG is POC woman led. 🙂 But if you need a cruelty-free brand... PMG still says (on their site) they do no animal testing, but I think they ship to China now—which means someone has to animal-test PMG products that are sold in China.

I still don’t have the Fenty Flyliner, but a friend does. Her only complaint is the glossy finish. Otherwise she loves it.

Alternative to Kat Von D eyeliner?

she is an anti-vaxxer? Seriously? She's a tattoo artist and doesn't want people to get their tetanus shot before getting ink. Even the most sterile technique at the doctor's office can't prevent tetanus. 😱😱😓😓😓 I'm so disappointed. I need to step away from my soap box man. 😓

RE: Alternative to Kat Von D eyeliner?

I know right? 🤦🏻‍♀️

Re: Alternative to Kat Von D eyeliner?

I'm gonna second the Tarte Tarteist Double Take Eyeliner! I had one an loved it! The liquid was a felt tip and went on smooth and dark, plus the pencil was nice for tightlining. It's one of the few products I've used completely and it did last a good while. Only reason I haven't repurchased is because I have so many samples/minis to use up first.

I feel you on the whole KVD anti-vaxx thing. While I'll continue to use her products that I've already got, since I've already paid for them, I'm not going to be purchasing anything new. 😕

Re: Alternative to Kat Von D eyeliner?

I hear you about Kat Von D 😞 I try to only buy from cruelty free brands, I've never tried Fenty but I'm a big fan of both the Tattoo Liner and Tarte Tarteist Double Take Eyeliner! It's dual ended but the liquid is great and IMO last surprisingly long.
