@quinnavery  If you’re still looking for options: consider buying a lash primer. A good lash primer can boost the length and volume (and sometimes the curl) of many mascaras. My favorite is Lancôme Cils Booster XL Super-Enhancing Mascara Primer .18 oz / 5.5 ml which also comes in a mini size, if you’d rather buy the mini to test. Sometimes you can get a free mini of this primer as GWP at Ulta, Sephora, etc.; check Sephora’s Reward Bazaar and “Sale & Offers” page, for instance. 

Even without a lash primer, Benefit Cosmetics Fan Fest Fanning & Volumizing Mascara Hyper Black does a good job on my short straight lashes. So does HUDA BEAUTY 1 Coat WOW! Extra Volumizing and Lifting Mascara Very Vanta. For more of a “my lashes but better” (less dramatic) look, I like ILIA Limitless Lash Lengthening Clean Mascara After Midnight.

Try searching the mini mascara section, you'll see so many pop up. For a cheaper price you might get to try a few you've been curious about. And my mini's seen this last for a bit. 😉
