Foundation for Eczema prone skin

Hi, looking for suggestions/recommendations on foundations that don’t irritate. I have dry skin and my eyes have occasional flare ups. People have suggested Clinique or Tarte?

Re: Foundation for Eczema prone skin

@liamaxjules I have dry, sensitive skin. They don't sell it at Sephora, but Lancome is currently having a 30% off sale on their site and I love the Absolu Bx foundation. Another one that I consider very good is Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Natural Glow Foundation  . I will say that I think they have changed the formula since I sampled it because mine didn't have the "Perfect Glow" in the name.  I was loyal to Lancome's foundation for a long time. Last time I tried to get it, they were out, so I got the Estee Lauder Futurist Hydra foundation at their counter. I have to use it because I bought it, but I'm not crazy about it. I hope this helps.

Re: Foundation for Eczema prone skin

Hi,

When it comes to good foundation, it is not only about the foundation, it is also about the products used under the foundations.

I did some research and found that that these 4 ingredients that can be found in makeup, haircare, or skincare that can cause eczema to flare-up, dry skin, or irritate are

Sulfates - good at removing oil but drys skin out and increases risk of irritation

Fragrances - can cause reactions or irritation

Preservatives - helps to increase shelf life of a products (an example of a preservative is formaldehyde which is cancerous and can cause cancer)

Propylene Glycol - can be very moisturizing but is very irritating if you have eczema prone skin

Many of my friends suffer form dry eczema prone skin and many of them said that using the Topicals Like Butter Mask for Dry, Sensitive & Eczema-Prone Skin 1.7 oz/ 50 mL  helped there skin not only become more hydrated and glowy, but it also made there makeup application look much for flawless.

Next thing is the way and products you use to prep and prime your skin. You want to use products with ingredients that will help and have benefits for you skin. Ingredients that benefit eczema prone skin, are ceramides, hyaluronic acid, glycerin, and niacinamide.

To prep and prime you're skin you're going to want to wash you face with a cleanser, use a toner (optional), apply serums, use moisturizer, apply sunscreen, use primer, use colour corrector (optional). Down below there is a list of great products for eczema prone skin.

Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Fat Water Niacinamide Pore-Refining Toner Serum with Barbados Cherry

Farmacy Honey Potion Plus Ceramide Hydration Mask

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Face Moisturizer 1.7 oz/ 50 mL

Some great primes for eczema prone skin are the  Tatcha The Silk Canvas Protective Primer , Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Illuminating Primer- Always An Optimist Collection 0.94 oz/ 28 mL , or the  REFY Glow and Sculpt Face Serum Primer with Niacinamide 1.4 oz / 40 mL .

A few great foundation for eczema prone skin are the Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Positive Light Tinted Moisturizer , and the Kosas Revealer Skin-Improving Foundation SPF25 with Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide

Hope this helps
