Vanilla Visa Gift Card Declined

I read in other posts that it is possible to use a vanilla visa gift card for online purchases, but my card is being declined. Any suggestions or help?

Having same issue using Vanilla Visa gift card. I waited on hold and was told by Vanilla Visa gift card customer service agent that "Sephora is not a reputable merchant and has been blocked forsuspicious activity." Which is obviously not true. I think it is unfair for them to pick and choose where I shop. I see other complaints to Better Business Bureau about Vanilla gift card issues . I had no problem using one in store a year ago. They only seem to work in stores.

The better business bureau is literally yelp before we had the internet. It’s a private business and their ratings mean nothing. And Sephora IS a reputable business.

I was not saying that that Sephora is not a \"reputable business \" that was explanation that Vanilla Visa Gift Cards gave me. I was appalled that they said that and would not let me shop online at Sephora.

Hi @Anonymous,

Sometimes with Visa gift cards you have to register them first on the gift card website so that you can enter it on your order with the correct billing address. I hope that this helps.
